The story backbone is alright, and has all the potential. But it's all lost in lack of plausibility, in different scenarios time and time again.
For instance the female heroine (FH), having been a herded sheep all her life where all ALL decisions have been made for her. And she's accepted them all, without a smidgeon of rebellion. Anything from which school, clothes, and interests as a child to that of an adult. Now we all know that there's not a female out there who doesn't go through some sort of rebellion in her teens, unless she locked in some basement somewhere. But even then I'm sure there's some sort of rebellion taking pace. Of course I'm exaggerating but you get the geist.
Now this FH doesn't show any such traits at all, instead she's a docile lamb who seems emotionally dead. And I keep waiting for her to wake up!
She went to Yale, because her family dictated it so. She studied theater because her family dictated it so, and never did she object to anything.
Despite this education, she's suddenly an economical & financial genius who can create forecasts which even seasoned and business educated persons in the book can't. It's a hard pill to swallow, especially since it never indicated the the FH would have been introduced to the Eco& fin basics even.

This is how the book continues throughout, it's not the first inconsistency but the one which rubbed me the wrong way the worst.

The series was purchased on a kindle deal, and the author seemed so earnestly happy in her description of the series that I fell for the teaser and purchased it.
But unfortunately, the series left me with a feeling of annoyance and irritation that I've wasted time on this story.

However, if you're not a stickler for plausibility (as I am) then I think the story can be appreciated, and maybe you won't have the same opinion as me.

Great plot with the absolute worst most dramatic characters I’ve ever seen 😅

h let everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE, run over here. Fuckboy pushed her into losing her virginity, kisses a girl right after, has coke in his car, and she takes the fall for it as punishment for her bad decision in men 🙄

Dad and grandfather control her every decision since and despite having an actual flashback of signing the document, she’s completely air headed about them ever doing something illegal and continues to stand up for them.

“You don’t think my grandfather’s trial will be canceled though? You don’t think the charges will be dropped now that they know it was just a mistake?”

Killian freezes but quickly recovers as he looks down at his plate. “No.”

“Why not? Granddad didn’t do it. He didn’t do anything wrong. He’s innocent, just like I am. There was just a mix-up with numbers. That’s all this is.”

I watch Killian’s chest rise and fall. Once, then twice, and then three times. Each breath he takes seems painful. “What is it?” He grabs ahold of my hands. “Princess, you’re wrong.”

I shake my head and laugh cautiously, trying to break the tension between us. “I’m wrong about a lot of things. You’re going to have to be more specific.”

“Your grandfather, your father—they did everything the FBI is accusing them of.” I shake my head. “No.”

Like ACTIVELY on trial for it, SHE’S on trial for their dealings and she’s defending them. airheaded. The whole book.

And the constant dramatics of them saying they won’t survive or wishing for death all because they’re sad or missing the other person.

Or the fact she’s pretending to be on the bad guys side and he’s a prisoner yet felt like she would die off she didnt screw him so they pretend she’s torturing him to squeeze in a quick fuck 😅

I picked this up on a bookbub deal, and I'm glad I didn't invest too much money in it.

Maybe Yes 3-stars
Somewhat far-fetched but fun story about intelligent but passive rich-girl setup in an arranged marriage by her wealthy, casino owning family. I had trouble with a woman slender enough to model for Seventeen never exercising and routinely downing high cal/high fat meals. Ends with an abrupt twist and cliff-hanger.

Maybe Never 2-stars
Turns out all that money in book 1 is dirty and book two is a beyond improbable 'on the run' story as the hero and heroine attempt to avoid the FBI. Ends with a TSTL decision by the heroine and a cliff-hanger.

Maybe Always 1-star
No. Just no. No one who has just been tortured is going to be up for smexy times. And that's one of just countless plot holes and wtf? moments, cumulating in a final confrontation that requires to the hero to manage what should have been weeks of recovery from torture in twenty-four hours. There is also a two hour gap between the final shoot-out and when the FBI arrives where all the survivors should have bled out.

Maybe Yes
I both love and hate it when I get to the end of a book and I don’t know what to say. I hate it because, well, I always have something to say and when I’m speechless I feel all off center. But I love it because it means that an author has successfully transported me deeply into their world, to the point that my real life doesn’t quite fit right until I recover from the story hangover. I spent half this story loving Kinsley and Killian and the other half wanting to strangle them – or at least try to shake some sense into them. Even knowing that this is part one of the series, it’s still a very steep and abrupt cliff I fell off of at the end of the book. I am very invested in seeing where this story goes next.
Maybe Never
After barely surviving the first book, I thought I was prepared for anything this one was going to throw at me. Boy, was I ever wrong. Like the first book, Kinsley and Killian are still off again, on again – a little like a strobe light. Also like the first, there’s a steep cliff we’re left hanging from at the end. But the secrets and revelations that come to light in this book, aren’t anything like where I thought this story was taking us. I’m even more invested than ever in seeing where the rest of Kinsley and Killian’s story goes.
Maybe Always
It’s a shocking conclusion to Kinsley and Killian’s story and not at all what I thought it would be. This book goes to some very dark places. Places that are a lot darker than I ever expected the story to go. Even knowing where the story had already taken us, I was caught off guard. In order to free themselves from the web of lies surrounding them, Kinsley and Killian are pushed to the very edge in order to survive. A lot of the choices they have to make push their already fragile relationship to the breaking point in order to earn their happily ever after.

This 3 book series was long and it took me a while to get through it.
It was slow in the beginning but by the 3rd book there was lots of action and a few twists and turns.
It was a very good story line!

Ms. Miles is a new to me author. I absolutely loved this dark romance romance. There were so many twists and turns I did not see coming. I listened to this series by the amazing talents of Keira Stevens and Wen Ross. This series has intrigue, mystery and lots of smoking hot panty melting scenes.

ALL OVER THE PLACE!

Not sure what kind of story I just read! I’m not sure the author new what kind of story she was writing….it was all over the place. This is a 3 book series (Maybe, Maybe Never and Maybe Always). Each book seemed to change the tone of the story. Was it a love story about a girl who is afraid to make decisions on her own so allows her father to choose her husband and how they eventually fall in love and she becomes her own woman? Was it a crime story about drugs and trafficking and FBI investigations that the h gets involved in? Was the h a Dominatrix who got off on whipping men or was she a sub who let people make decisions for her and ultimately lets the H whip her? Was the H the Alpha/Dom who got off whipping her or was he a sub who got off being whipped by her? See what I mean….all this happens in this story…to many conflicting personalities that don’t make sense the way it was written.

Book 1 (Maybe) starts out great and I had high hopes. A young h (Kinsley), expected to marry a man chosen by her father, a man who will ultimately run the family empire (a series of Vegas Casinos/Hotels). A chance encounter with the H (Killian) before she discovers he’s actually the man chosen by her family sets the stage for their subsequent interactions. Book one gives you the family dynamics, why she allowed them to decide her future. The H (Killian) is the perfect Alpha male, strong, decisive and yet caring, able to read Kinsley perfectly and knows exactly what she wants and needs. The story and the interplay between these two are captivating. I loved it and couldn’t put it down. I’m thinking it’s going to be a great story about this couple’s interactions, how they fall in love and she becomes a confident woman who finally knows what she wants and is capable of deciding her own life.

Book 2 - Changes it up a bit. We begin to discover the H is more than just the family empire’s V.P. of Operations and that the FBI is investigating the family empire for fraud and money laundering. He goes to Mexico to find out who her father met with before his death and has accidentally overheard something that tells him Kinsley’s life in danger. Now this story has become intriguing and exciting. I’m still hooked and can’t put the book down.

Book 3 - Seems to go off the wire. We discover that her family is into more criminal activities than just fraud and money laundering. We learn more about the H’s background. That’s not really the problem. That part could have been so good, if done right. It wasn’t. So what went wrong? For starters, the H starts losing his confident, alpha male aura. He suddenly becomes a man who starts questioning himself, not certain of what he wants, and makes some really stupid decisions. He kind of lost his appeal. In the meantime, the h suddenly gets a back-bone, decides she needs to right her families wrongs and thinks she capable of doing it all by herself, but of course she still makes horrible decisions. That’s not the half of it….there are scenes when the h is suddenly portrayed as a Dominatrix, getting off on whipping the H and he is getting turned on by it. It’s so out of character for both. But if that’s not bad enough, then imagine that scene taking place while they have been captured, he’s tied to a post in the middle of their lair and the bad guys are all around the building. In the epilogue the tables are turned and suddenly he’s the Dom whipping her while tied to a bed before the get it on. ????? What the H E double L?????

Ultimately, with all the twists and turns in this book, it could have been such a great story, with lots of intrigue, danger and excitement. But in Book 3, I started to not like the main characters for various reasons and found myself reading more just to finish it and get it over with. And in the end, I’m let down because there’s no Hero saves the day, nor even a Heroine saves the day. Instead, one bad guy shoots another and then they wake up in a hospital. (What about all the other bad guys that were around?) See what I mean.

I would have given the first 2 books alone a 4 or even 5 star rating, but Book 3 was definitely a negative, so I was generous with a 3 star rating. The author should have ended it with 2 books.

I lost interest

The first book keep me going. I didn’t want to stop reading it because I was curious. I enjoy books where the H and h realize they do have have feelings for one another. Where they later act on those feelings and have a HEA. I thought this was going there until the last 1 or 2 chapters in book one.

I’m cool with a plot twist, but this one just didn’t flow. I wasn’t sure if I would go further after reading the last chapter of book 1. Then I went into book 2 and about 5 chapters in, I realized I was in fact done.

Why is it so hard for Kinsley to say what she needs to say. She just walks up to Killian after what just happened and suddenly is thinking about his lips and the sex they had, rather than expressing her anger verbally and perhaps physically. Just when you think she going to let him have it, she stops. I wanted her to say whatever it is she was planning on saying and not get distracted by Killian’s kiss or appearance. I found her to be incredibly weak and unable to make her on decisions. Her world has been turned upside down and she doesn’t know why. Instead of saying she doesn’t know what’s going on or why she’s in this predicament, she’s defending her father and grandfather.

Wasted my time

It could be my fault. I might not have read enough reviews to clearly understand what darkness lies in this book. The synopsis didn't give away much. I like the premise but the content made me sick. Kinsley is such an idiot. Just...really...there is nothing to say. Not warrior princess. Just a spoiled idiot who never turns on common sense. I thought this series would improve. Kinsley would grow some brains but it just spiraled out of control. If you like dumb lead women, raping and selling of women, violence and disrespect for life...this dark ugly book is for you. If you want interesting romance connection this is NOT for you. No romance just bad people and bad choices. Run away.....

Overall Rating: 3.75/5 stars (rounded to 4)

This book contains all three books of the Maybe series (Maybe Yes, Maybe Never, Maybe Always). This series was definitely not what I had expected. I did not anticipate for the plot to go in the direction that it did based on what happened on the first book. I thought it would revolve around the main female protagonist's (Kinsley) struggle with deciding whether to accept her family's choice of husband for her or follow her own heart. Well, it did to some extent, but the story had added elements to make matters more complicated. I'm giving this series 3.75/ 5 stars (rounded to 4) because I went back and forth between loving the story and getting annoyed at Kinsley's naivete. To be fair, sometimes I got frustrated at Killian's (main male lead) decisions also, but I had more face-palm moments with Kinsley. I get that this was a fiction, but some scenes were just completely unbelievable to me. I wouldn't specify which so as not to give any spoilers. I also thought that there were sex scenes that did not quite fit the moment, especially in the third book. It seemed like the author just remembered that she had to put some intimate scenes given the genre of this series, so she just randomly sprinkled them in between chapters. I enjoyed such moments during the first book, but not so much on the 2nd and 3rd books.

Having said that, I still enjoyed reading the entire series. It was mentally exhausting for me, so I don't think I'll be rereading it anytime soon. I was glad that the plot went beyond what I had initially expected. There was some character development for both Kinsley and Killian. It was a good thing that I bought the complete series instead of buying the three separate books because I got to read the entire story continuously as I liked. Both the first and 2nd book ended with cliff-hangers, and it would have driven me nuts if I couldn't get ahold of the sequel immediately. My favorite was still the first book out of the three.

Read below for more my separate reviews for each book as I had finished them.

Maybe Yes
Rating: 4/5 stars

The blurb at the back of the book was really intriguing, I just had to read it. I was completely gripped the entire time I was reading the first book of this series. There never was a dull moment for me. I had been reading books with the same theme of the female lead being forced to get married in order to get her inheritance for weeks now-- The Tycoon by M. O'Keefe, and Wife (Betrothed #1) by Penelope Sky -- and I truly enjoyed their plots. I found myself searching for another book that could fill my longing for a story with similar plot while I was waiting for my Amazon order for the second book in P. Sky's Betrothed series to arrive. Then I came across this Maybe series in my ever-growing to-read pile, and voila... my longing was satiated instantly!

To be clear, I do not condone the way these leading men try to control their respective female protagonist, nor the very backward thinking that women must marry men to become successful in life. But, before judging these themes, one must read these books that I had mentioned to understand why these themes must be present in order for the plot to work. Plus, I found the female protagonists of these books were actually strong as they tried to fight their unfortunate fate that was dictated to them by their family and the society.

Anyway, as for the review of Maybe Yes book itself, I am giving it 4 out of 5 stars. It was written in Kinsley's POV, so pretty much my emotions about this story was heavily dictated by how Kinsley perceived the events going on around her. I could somehow identify with her problem about not really having a choice since everything about her life had been chosen for her by her family. I felt her frustration about this, and I felt sad everytime she tried to prove herself and failed.

One thing I found unrealistic though was when Kinsley changed something on the numbers or graphs related to their hotel's bookkeeping stuff, and it actually worked. Seriously, how was she even able to understood anything about it, much less make a significant change in about 20 mins, that even the VP could not figure it out himself for a long time, given the fact that she did not have any background about business???

Then I reached the ending of this book... WHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED?! I was completely surprised by the turn of events. It was such a cliffhanger. Now, I have to read the next book in the series ASAP! I have to know what is going on!!!

I'll be back then for the review of Maybe Never.

---

Maybe Never
Rating: 3.5/5 stars

I got so frustrated with this book. No, actually, I liked the story but I was just annoyed with Kinsley for the most part of this book. I found her too fickle-minded, and easily-swayed by just one piece of information. At one point she was madly in love with Killian, then the next moment she was mad at him. I get that she felt betrayed by Killian's refusal of telling her the entire truth about her family, but, girl , just sort out your emotions first and take some time to yourself to figure out what you actually want to do in life instead of going on and off with your relationship with Killian! In fairness to her, I understood her frustration with Killian as he kept on keeping her in the dark (in his attempts to protect her). But if I were in her shoes, I would not just jump on the bed with the guy every chance that I get without getting all the explanations I needed, given that those explanations were a huge deal to me. By being hot and cold with Killian, she was just hurting both herself and the man she claimed to "love". Every time they had sex, they always had some fight almost immediately after due to their trust issues. So I no longer enjoyed these intimate scenes (unlike in the first book) because my mind became programmed that after they have sex they will break up again.

On the positive side, I liked that this story was written in alternating POVs of Kinsley and Killian. I liked that I got to see the story from Killian's perspective because I could appreciate the intricacy of the story better. I actually enjoyed Killian's chapter way better than I did with Kinsley's. In my opinion, there was just more depth to his story than hers. I liked that I got a glimpse on Killian's background, but I wish it was explored more deeper. Ooohhh... wait, I just had an epiphany while writing this... I might actually be into leading men that appeared tough but have a tortured background... maybe that was why I was so drawn into Killian... oookkaaay. Anyway, back to the book... I also liked that the story became more complicated with the addition of more dangerous elements. I am looking forward to see how the story will unfold on the next book.

I am giving this book 3.5/ 5 stars because I did not feel the same excitement as I did with Maybe Yes. It was still a good read though, and I hope the story could redeem itself for me on the last book. I will update my review again after I finish Maybe Always.

---

Maybe Always
Rating: 3.75/5 stars

This last book of the series had somehow redeemed itself for me. I liked the adrenaline-pumping parts, which made me continue reading the book despite my frustration with Kinsley. The story got dark, something I had not expected based on the first book-- and I liked it. It had given depth to the story. I also liked that it was still told in the alternating POVs of Kinsley and Killian. I just found that some parts were too unrealistic, especially how the couple still managed to have sex a couple of times despite being in danger. I mean, I get that some people find it sexually arousing when there was like a perceived threat, but in this story they were actually in danger. I felt like if I were in their situation, my first instinct would be to find a way to escape and survive instead of thinking about having sex. Well, that was just my personal preference. Maybe other people would think otherwise, and we'll just agree to disagree. I was not completely satisfied with the resolution of the story. It felt rushed. I was hoping that the epilogue would give more insight on what happens to Kinsley and Killian after all the troubles they had been through. Overall, the story was alright. It still captured my attention, better than the second book.

---

I am still debating whether to read the Definitely series, which was about Kinsley's friend, Scarlet. I might read other works by Ella Miles in the future.

Wow - You Won't See What Is Coming!

Kinsley Elizabeth Felton, twenty-one, has rooms full of designer clothes but she can take them or leave them. A model since age twelve, she is about to graduate from Yale with a degree in theater. She hasn't dated in three years, since breaking up with her high school boyfriend. She follows all the plans her father and grandfather carefully laid out for her, never wanting to be the cause of disappointment. She had caused too much trouble five years earlier. She wouldn't risk being the cause of more trouble for her family.

Her grandfather, Lee Felton, built the family empire from a single Las Vegas casino into nearly twenty properties. Felton Corporation has remained a family company for generations. As the sole heir, Kinsley understands that she is expected to agree to an arranged marriage to a man her father and grandfather feel will make a good CEO and husband.

Killian Browne, thirty, has dark piercing eyes and reeks of sex-appeal. He doesn't smile much. He is VP of Operations at Felton Corporation and being considered for the CEO position. With a business degree from Harvard and some law school under his belt, he was recruited to Felton Corporation five years earlier. He formed a deep bond with Kinsley's father, Robert. Three years ago, he was informed about a plan for him to marry Kinsley and become CEO. Because of her age, he did not approach Kelsey.

According to the plan, Kinsley was supposed to model and act following graduation, not meeting her future husband until her late twenties. Then after a reasonable amount of time to date, they would marry by the time she was thirty.

When the plan gets turned upside down, Kinsley learns that the timetable has shifted and a marriage will take place in six months. She has always done as told, but says she can't do this. Even if his considerable appeal does tempt her to agree, Killian doesn't want to marry her unless forced to for the CEO position.

The atmosohere is explosive when Kinsley and Killian meet in Las Vegas. They dance around their feelings for one another throughout the book. Despite their incredible chemistry, both struggle with admitting to their developing feelings. Be prepared for surprises!

This book is well-written. The plot is suspenseful. It sometimes feels too wishy-washy, and the business-related scenes feel a bit too simplified and inauthentic. Maybe Yes is written from Kinsley's POV. The next books in the series, Maybe Never and Maybe Always, alternate between Kinsley and Killian's POVs. I rate this book four stars.

Loved Killian and Kinsley!!

In book #1, Kinsley Felton was this naive, gullible college kid who let her father and grandfather decide her future because she made a terrible mistake as a teenager. As a result, her father had handpicked her boyfriends, chosen her major in college, and has now arranged her future husband without her knowledge. When her dad dies suddenly from a heart attack, Kinsley's expected to follow his wishes and get engaged to a stranger.

Killian works for her family's casino, he was handpicked by Robert Felton to marry his daughter and continue running the family business. He met Kinsley years ago when he visited her unknowingly at college, ever since then he started to fall for the beautiful model/student. But he's undercover working for the FBI trying to put an end to the Felton Empire.

In book #2, you begin to really understand that Killian made a promise to her dad to always protect his only child and bring down the family's "real" business; smuggling. But he won't let Kinsley take the fall for her parents and grandfather when she's arrested for the crimes of her family.

That's when she really learns what her father and grandfather do for a living, using the casino as a front to launder money. As a result, both Killian and Kinsley go on the run from the FBI, leaving a trail throughout Europe. After she finds a letter from her father explaining the family business and the need to destroy it; she knows what she has to do. Killian is risking his job and prison time to protect her, so she decides to protect him instead and goes after her grandfather.

In book #3, Kinsley's in Mexico working with the men running the smuggling business. They kidnap women and children and sell them to the highest bidder. She needs to gain their trust and then call the FBI. But when they bring Killian to Mexico to prove her loyalty, the game changes.

I just couldn't get over how fast Kinsley evolved into this strong woman from being so submissive in both books 1 & half of book 2. Yes, she's doing the right thing by exposing her family, but it just didn't sit right with me.

I loved this trilogy! Kinsley made a mistake that almost ruined her life and losing all confidence she agreed to give her father and grandfather complete control of all the important choices in her life. Which included them choosing her husband...the man who would run their family business instead of her.

She was a model and studied at Yale, but these were choices that were made for her. Because she was always wrong. But they made the worse decision of all. The man they had hand selected to take over the family business and be Kinsley's husband was an undercover FBI agent determined to take them down.

This story is action packed from book one and continues throughout the trilogy. Kinsley has a ton of growing up to do and she may have confidence in her body because of her modeling career, but that is where her confidence stops. She is so scared of making the wrong decision that she ends up giving those decisions to others.

Killian went undercover five years before to take down the Felton family and ended up falling in love putting his career in danger.

This series is narrated by Keira Stevens and Wen Ross and they did an amazing job bringing this story and characters to life. Keira portrayed Kinsley and her emotions perfectly and although Wen did an awesome job bringing Killian to life, I could listen to him read the dictionary and be perfectly content.

This story is smoking hot and covers subject matter that may be triggering...torture, human trafficking, and others.

This is the first time I've read (listened to...) Ella Miles and I truly loved his writing style and characters. The story kept me engaged and wanting more! Highly recommend this story, author and narrators!

1 - Maybe Yes
Ella Miles has once again shown how powerful an author she is. This storyline flowed quickly immersing me into the world of the Felton's and their casinos. The characters were so relatable they felt like someone you would know personally. The emotional rollercoaster and sexual tension between Kinsley and Killian is a slow burn building until it engulfs the pages. The plot, or what I thought was a plot, takes a quick left turn with a heart stopping cliff hanger making me immediately want to grab book two.

2- Maybe Never
This series started off powerful and book two, "Maybe Never" picks up right where book one, "Maybe Yes" left off. The story flows so quickly and evenly the pages seem to turn quicker than counted. The plot twists and turns. Pieces of the puzzle are coming out but as they do more intrigue is folded into it. And what about family loyalty? You'll have to read the book to find out. Be prepared for another cliffhanger delivered as only Ella Miles can deliver.

3- Maybe Always
Maybe Always starts right where Maybe Never ended, with Killian in jail. Kinsley has left him, called the FBI and told them she was turning herself in. Ella Miles has taken this book to a whole new level. The twists and turns, along with the emotional rollercoaster and heart pounding anxiety of the plot took me all the way to the end of the book. This was not only a dynamite book but a stellar series. Definitely one to be recommended and not missed.

This is a powerful series that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout every page. Ella Miles is one of my go to - one click authors and I'm never disappointed.

Undoubtedly the worst book I’ve read this year. I downloaded it for free off of Apple iBooks and had high hopes because the synopsis sounded really promising. While the first book was okay ish (I gave it 2 stars) the second two were just rubbish.

It’s literally a case of the author had one idea and then suddenly decided to take it a completely different way. I’ve read other comments where people have said it’s twists and turns etc etc and it’s really not. The whole plot overall felt disjointed, and when you look at it as a whole, so much of it just doesn’t make any sense at all.

Kinsley is the worst character I’ve come across in a long time. A literal doormat that doesn’t really have any substance in her at all. And she’s so flimsy. She’s obsessed with this guy for no good reason. I’m sorry but she’s literally pathetic.

Killian isn’t the worst character but his character just kept unravelling as the books went on.

I cannot fathom why people have rated this book highly because it’s actually laughable how bad it actually is. The only reason I read to the end was because I hate leaving books unfinished, but even then, I’m pretty certain I skipped the vast majority of it because it was so cringey and OTT.

Quite frankly, this is nothing more than a badly written fanfic that should never be listed as real literature.

There are millions of books out there, please do not waste your time and brain cells on this trash. I will never be picking up another book by this author ever again.

If I could give this book a 0, I would.

The Maybe Series by Ella Miles: ***** A mostly 5 star series that I couldn’t put down
*****Maybe Yes (#1) by Ella Miles: ***** Incredibly good!
The storyline was really good, with an excellent pace. The writing style was realistic, with a smooth flow. I really liked the character development, and how they became more complex as the story evolved. This story ended on a really big cliffhanger that was a complete shock.
*****Maybe Never (#2) by Ella Miles: Riveting
This powerfully intense storyline grabs you from the first page. A lingering love, tested with lies and conflicting loyalties. Danger, and painful truths. Numerous twists, turns and surprises... I am enjoying this series immensely and looking forward to reading book #3.
****Maybe Always (#3) by Ella Miles: Very dark
This finale to the series takes a really dark turn, where the fairy tale life from book one is completely upended. There is murder, kidnapping, high crime and extreme danger. An intense read that was over the top at times. The ending felt incomplete to me, containing an HEA in the love story, but only marginally wrapping up the criminal element of the story.

Kinsley grew up with money and never questioned it, but when her father dies all of sudden, she returns home to take part in the family business. But she ends up finding out that she never really knew what the family did in business and has to come face to face with some of the darkness her grandfather and father tried to protect her from. But will her mother be able to save her? Or is her mother wrapped up in the twisted affairs too? Can the FBI agent save her? Can he save himself?

Killian is an FBI agent with a dark past of his own, but when he sees and meets Kinsley, he knows he has to save her no matter the cost. He has an amazing journey in getting to know Kinsley and then learning more and more of her family's dark history. But who will survive, the FBI agent or the man that loves Kinsley?

This is a deilicously dark romance series! I can't wait for more from Scarlett, but for now, this will keep you on the edge of your seat begging for more. An FBI agent, a smuggler and a princess walk into a casino....

OH MY GOODNESS! I can't believe the twists and turns, ups and downs this book took me on. The two main characters are Kinsley and Killian. Kinsley is descripted as naive yet strong, loving yet ruthless, a princess and a warrior, a prefect contradiction which you will find reading this story. Killian is a FBI agent, strong, handsome, and very opinionated. I found that Ms Miles has this knack for mking all the dirty, kinky, sexy scenes between Killian and Kinsley burn up the pages and make you pant along with them and you can't help but feel the heat just roll off them from the start.
The story line is captivating, intriguing, engaging, and well developed. You will find that this book deals with loyalty, love, risks, and conflicts all in a multitude of ways. If you like dark romance you will love this series.
Well I am off to read the next books Definitely the complete series that have to do with Scarlett, Kinsley's bestfriend, and the Beast.

Hard

This was a hard series to read. At first I was mad at Kinsley because she gave the true meaning to blonde. I would never do everything I was told to do especially by my family. What her family done to her was make her a needy child with no direction of her own. That is just plum crazy. On top of her family was all psycho. No one needs a family like hers, especially a mother who never wanted her to begin with. I would rather have kids and love them than be a rich alcoholic. Psycho all of them. Her whole family should have been wiped off the face of the earth. Now let's get to Killian, I get that he is FBI and he is doing his job, but I hate liars. Even lies by omission. He should have pulled her aside and swore her to secrecy and told her the truth and showed her the truth about her family. I know we have sick people in this world but I don't really want to read about it. I wasn't happy with this series, sorry.
