Review to come soon! On sale February 5th!

***********

Thank you to the author, for the gifted eARC.

This is the 1st book I have read by Andrea, and right after I finished it, I bought another. I am hooked!

This was such a well written story that was full of drama, and a page turner for me! I love books that make me want to pick them up, as soon as I have a spare moment.

I loved all the characters. As some one who has experienced loss, and has a step child, I could really relate to Caroline. Although she was some what obsessed, there was a reason to why she was doing what she did.

I really enjoyed this book and especially loved the authors dedication. ❤

Trigger warning: infertility, miscarriage, child abandonment.

This is the second book I've read by Andrea Nourse and I'm just as hooked as I was with the last book. The character development was so good! Even with the side characters, we also got to see Janna, Hilly, and Tucker again and I really loved that!! The main characters felt so real to me, more real than I've ever felt with fictional characters before. Their faults and strengths truly made them into actual living beings in my mind. I feel like if I traveled to their town/city I would find them. That Reese's famous purple box filled with a cake is something I could actually buy, that I'd be able to see the picture of her family on the wall when I'd walked into the shop.
Their struggles also were so heartfelt and emotional. You could tell how difficult it was for them, and I love how they reacted because that's how real people react!! At times I was yelling at them for being so stupid!! Also I'd liked to mention this books switches between the point of views between two female characters. Usually I don't like the changes of point of views so often but this was done so well that I was actually looking forward to the change by the end of the chapter. Man I can't get over how great this book is.
It did take me longer to read (like a week?) because I was triggered with the lies so I needed breaks (bad personal experiences with extreme lies in my past). And yes, the title has 'lie' in it twice so I knew what to expect but I still wanted to read and I'm so glad I did!!! This book was so well written. The author really has a talent and I can't wait to read the next book of hers!

I enjoyed this story even more than Andrea’s first 5-star read. Everyone’s got secrets. Everyone lies about something. Everyone has family drama. This was an interesting & relatable read. Didn’t want to put it down!

Review: I felt that this book was really emotional. It’s a great book to read if you want to cry, cause dangit you’re gonna cry during it. The characters are well developed, the plot is interesting, and the writing was really well done. I felt really well connected to the characters even though I haven’t gone through what they have before.

However, I do feel that the book was a bit uneven in pacing. It was slow then fast and then a normal speed. I also feel that readers might not connect as much to the characters unless they have also experienced what they have or are empathetic like I am. I also became really really irked with all the lying, but I feel that was the purpose of the book.

Verdict: A great read!

Unexpected, Unique, Touching.

From reading the blurb, I had absolutely no idea what the secret Caroline’s husband is keeping.

Caroline and Reeses’ lives are inextricably linked. I don’t want to give any spoilers so I won’t say too much.

This book was a 3 star read for me. I enjoyed the characters of both Caroline and Reese.

Thank you to the author for gifting me a digital copy of the book.

Wow

I couldn’t love 5 characters anymore! I loved the little pieces of Happily Ever Never worked in as well — this story was powerful and complicated in the best ways and just like I’d love a sequel for HEN — I’d love to know more about Harrison and how things work out for Ben & Caroline.

Andrea really rocked it with this one.

I loved the two females in this. Both had struggles that felt like real life.

I could relate to Caroline being a step mom and her struggles. But I could really relate to Reese being a single mom and someone else stepping up to the plate being a father to my kids.

Fast paced read.

Loved, ABSOLUTELY loved the dedication.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!
Oh my gosh. Honestly I didn’t know what to expect going in. After the first two chapters I was sucked in and falling in love with these characters. Such a ‘feel good’ story with a lot of family drama and family love. Highly recommend!!

**I received an advance readers copy in exchange for an honest review.**

Lie Baby Lie is a well-written, compelling story about two women, Reese and Caroline. The story is from the point of view of both women which I enjoyed very much.

Writing about loss/infertility/abandonment can be very challenging. I felt Ms. Nourse did an accurate job showing all the emotions the women were experiencing. She takes the reader along in a natural way that puts you into the story.

****A warning to my friends who have suffered loss and infertility. I found myself having to step away occasionally from reading to regroup. But, I always went back because I HAD to know how the story ended.

An intriguing read! Can lies, secrets, and buried feelings be overcome? Two women wanting the same thing, but can they have it? These are the questions that surrounded me while reading this book. I couldn't see an outcome that would give them a happy ending. But then we watched as they began working through old feelings growing into the person that's needed today not who they were in the past. This was an incredible read.

*I received an e-copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review and feedback.*

You know how annoying it is when some authors purposely use overly fancy jargon, just to sound more sophisticated when it's unnecessary? Andrea Nourse does NONE of that, and I love it. I didn't need a dictionary to read this. The writing style matches how I would expect the characters' thoughts to be, or how they would have shared their experiences with someone close to them.

This is the second book of Nourse's I've read. I will admit that I was not AS invested in these characters as I was with Happily Ever Never. However, I suspect that's because I have not experienced anything like what these characters are going through (I do not have kids and have not tried for any, so I don't relate to the infertility issues or the want of a child). There were three parts of the book that made me tear up, however, and those were things I related to (no spoilers). While with Happily Ever Never, I recalled all the same feelings and emotions I had experienced while going through a very similar situation as the main character.

Despite not relating to their experiences, I loved these characters as a whole. I don't want to say much about why so as not to ruin anything, but I will say that I love that there are good male role models as husbands and fathers, and also that there are still flaws in each character. No human is perfect, and that makes them more relatable.

Overall, I enjoyed it! I was able to get through it quickly and I was interested to see how everything would play out.

Possible trigger warnings: Infertility and miscarriages; parental abandonment.

3.5/5 from me.

Oh my gosh, where do I start?

This book touched me on a personal level as both of my kids are rainbow babies. I understand Reese and Caroline's pain. At one point Reese mentions checking everytime she goes to the restroom to make sure everything was still okay. I relate to that so much because I did that with all 5 of my pregnancies and the fear that you feel each time, praying there won't be blood, is heartwrenching. I'm so happy to read a book that is dealing with infertility and miscarriages because it isn't talked about a lot and then when you experience it you feel alone and ashamed. So thank you @andreanourse for helping us not feel alone.

Now let's get over the sadness and discuss it more. This book is entertaining and kept me interested all the way through! I cried of course as I have with this author's other two books I've read. But I laughed too. Besides sharing infertility and miscarriages with the characters, I didn't relate tl them much and at times jutlst didn't like them but the story is so good and real that it didn't bother me at all.

I always enjoy Andrea Nourse’s books and Lie, Baby, Lie was no exception. It’s a quick, cute novel with great character depth felt through dual-narration and heavy dialogue.
Caroline is faced with her husband’s past - a woman and baby he abandoned - while grappling with her own insecurities about her shortcomings as an adult in general and her desire to start a family. I liked Caroline’s interactions with her friends and mother, though they were painful, they really made me feel for her. And I truly did feel the love between her and Ben.
Not that I need to pick sides, but I enjoyed Caroline more than Reese (the estranged mother of Caroline’s husband’s daughter). I just found her to be kind of immature, even though she was supposed to be the put-together one.
Overall, I liked their interactions with each other, though, and enjoyed this book.
I did feel like the epilogue was a little off. It felt like the characters had made such progress then the epilogue was kind of a 180 to their development, but I suppose that’s true to life: not every ending is happy and simple… it just felt disjointed to me.
I’d recommend Lie, Baby, Lie to women in general - mothers, those hoping to become mothers, those with strained maternal relationships, single mothers, and women uninterested in having children. Myself being the latter, I still enjoyed this book.
