Ecclesia
Camden, a formerly deceased soldier for the Incroptia, awakes to find himself as the newest activated Unit in Underearth. Unfortunately, Underearth is neither a name for Heaven nor Hell. In fact, Underearth is an underground complex where humanity has continued its’ existence after the surface of the earth was rendered uninhabitable due to excessive atmospheric interference. Through the unintended consequences of well-intentioned motives, Camden has joined Underearth equipped with the tools to destroy it. Despite his most earnest attempts to acclimate to life in Underearth, the small but driven forces of resistance in this underground world have other plans. Unwittingly and, at times, unwillingly, Camden finds himself standing toe-to-toe with the governing powers of Underearth. This is the first book of a three book series. If you like David Estes’ The Moon Dwellers, Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games, and Hugh Howey’s Silo Series, you won’t be able to resist the gripping Zach McClellan series.

Interesting!
I'm not usually a dystopian fan, but this book was good. It was exciting, and had many ideas in it that made you think! Camden is thrown into a society that he has no memory of, only a confusing vision. See how he rises in the ranks and figures it all out and finally gets the thing he longed for, freedom! I definitely will read the next installment in this series.

The laws of the Underearth are simple:
"(1) Time is to be known and kept by the Time Master.
(2) All of the inhabitants of Underearth are indebted to the Time Master.
(3) Paitence and obedience are of the utmost merit, and those who uphold and enforce obedience are the ones privileged to inhabit the Underearth.
(4) Those who defy the Law of the Time Master will be deactivated and disposed of in the Land of the Sun.
(5) Time is the most valuable resource of Underearth, and can only be managed by the Time Master.
(6) The Time Master is to be given to the inhabitants of Underearth from the Family of Time.
(7) The Time Master is the ruler of time and decides the proper allocation of time and resources for the inhabitants of Underearth.
(8) The Time Master's laws are useful and correct. The laws of the Time Master are not to be questioned or challenged.
(9) Personal relationships are a direct affront to the Time Master, and those who persue personal relations will be punished by immediate deactivation."
Imagine waking up tied to a bed, not knowing where you are or what is happening. This for Camden, is his reality. As long as Camden abides by the rules of the Time Master, he will survive and succeed in the Underearth. If he does not abide, he risks deactivation, or worse, being sent to die in the Land of the Sun. Could you survive in the Underearth abiding by the Time Master?
"Ecclesia" is a fast paced book that takes readers on a wild journey with Camden as he tries to figure out how to live by the rules of the Time Master. Camden is at the mercy of the Time Master. All of his resources are controlled. When and what he eats, when and how he sleeps, and even how he communicates with the other inhabitants.
It does not take Camden long to figure out that he is very different from the other inhabitants of the Underearth, and that there may be a few other inhabitants that he can relate to, as they are also a little different. A revolution has been brewing, and Camden holds the final key to bringing the revolution to the forefront. But, does Camden believe he has the courage and ability to go against the Time Master and the Family of Time? In order to revolt, Camden must dig deep within, put aside his fears and worries so that good can prevail over evil.
I thoroughly enjoyed "Ecclesia" and I could not put it down. I found myself reading late into the night. It was a pretty quick read as the story kept me engaged until the very last page and I was left wanting more. I am eagerly awaiting for it's sequel to find out happens next for Camden.
"Ecclesia" is a very fun and enjoyable read for those readers who enjoy the science fiction, dystopian genres. I love dystopian stories, and "Ecclesia" certainly delivers. As a reader, if you enjoy books that follow this premise, you will definitely enjoy this one. The story cleverly combines two genres into one with a robotic yet, emotional feel for all of its characters.
The Author Zachary McClellan has a Bachelor's Degree in History, and Minor Degrees in Theatre and Biblical studies.

Okay, first off, I both loved the ending, but I am dying to continue the story! I loved this storyline. It was very intriguing. It ended with a sense of hope, too, which felt beautiful, and a reminder that better days are ahead. That the darkness he was led to believe was everything wasn’t actually all that there was. There was truly hope for a better future!
