After watching my wife die right in front of my eyes, I had no interest in ever putting myself through the rigors of life and love again. I wanted no part in the happily ever after fairytale and to make sure there was never any chance of it happening, I moved to the mountains. Away from life and anything to do with it. And then one night it happened, it started with a scream in the middle of the night, a scream that was followed by the most intense sense of knowing. Something as a trained marine I knew I couldn't ignore.
But this tiny little thing, how the fuck was she going to take thirteen inches of steel hard rod in her belly?
edit: There’s no way I was getting my thirteen by four inch cock in there.
Every time I read a JS book, I play a mental game: guess the ridiculous size of the hero's XXXL dick. My guess was bang on today, WOOOO. Im getting better at this..
Anyhoooo...
"Mountain Man" is the story of Cassie and Braden.
-A scarred brooding hero who has isolated himself to remote woods with his dog Braden after the murder of his wife -A OTT sweet heroine who is rescued one dark night by the hero -Her then trying to thank him while he ruthlessly pushes her kind ass away -Loads of cursing and sexual attraction -Crazy descriptive banging with sexathon lasting SO LONG and in so many locations and positions and methods, it would put pornstars to shame -Breeding
There is a plot to this book and the couple get together around 65% of the mark. There is mild angst, and while the couple might get a tad bit annoying- the heroine with all her psychoanalyzing and the hero with his world hatred, this is still a light read with many JS-isms.
He’s still inside me. I touched my tummy with my fingertip where I could feel him almost protruding from my flesh. It was a bit uncomfortable laying there like that with his massive cock still deep inside me. I couldn’t close my legs all the way for one. UMMM WTF! LMAOOO
Her pussy seemed to be draining my seed, almost like her womb was sucking it from my balls. Honeytrap puss puss.
I drove into her pink wet pussy and held her stomach protectively in my hand to feel my son or daughter, to make sure I wasn’t hurting them in anyway. Umm..
Him eating her for hours until his tongue got tired? Them naming their first born after his dead wife aka ex love of his life? Him enjoying her breast milk like a cow udder? This was insane LOL. +1 for anal. +0.5 for all the eyerolls giving me bird's eye view of my own anus.
It’s a Jordan Silver rating affected by my cruel H preference. ;) “Shut up and listen.” Pain in the fucking ass. “If you have a problem you’re gonna have to speak up because I’m not a mind reader. If I do something you don’t like and you don’t tell me, if I do that shit again, that’s on you.” “I’m not going to change anything about who I am, so if you have any delusions about turning me into some milksop that you can boss around think again.” He was great, wasn’t he? Lol
Braden is a reclusive guy who is fighting for all he is worth against his attraction for Cassie, who he rescued from being raped by two men. Another good, short story by Jordan Silver.
Braden Scott had his heart ripped open three years ago when he held his wife Elena as she died in his arms after being gunned down on the street. He was part of an Elite Military Force and blamed himself because if she never married him she’d still be alive. He got his revenge on the people responsible for Elena’s death and then retired. He’s now a recluse who lives in a cabin in the mountains with his dog. His younger brother Wyatt is the town Sheriff and he’s worried about Braden being alone. Cassie comes from a very wealthy family who owns most of the town. Braden rescues Cassie when she’s attacked near his cabin. Cassie can see the pain in his eyes and she’s drawn to him. Together Cassie and Wyatt try to get Braden to open up and let Cassie in. I feel like he was too into his dead wife and he wouldn’t have gotten over her that quickly. It’s impossible to compete with a ghost.
This book was alot of things : At the beginning it was intense , the book opened with the hero's wife being killed scene ( he broke my heart because he blamed himself ) Then we have a little bit of action , the H (Braden) saved the h (cassie) from being raped! Yes he is a hot guy but he is also a *HERO* 😍 The rest of the book was so FUNNY and HOT FUNNY because of the way Braden talks with his dog (Harley) my friend (Carmen) I know you will love Harley!,I was laughing with tears God I loved them 😊 So Braden tried to fight his feelings but... he lost the fight , he loved cassie , she redeemed him ,hot love scenes with the cutest and funniest epilogue , I am happy 🤗

Have you ever had those moments where you feel like you need to read a book that is basically trash ? No real emotional depth, horrible writing, even worse characters. When I do, I reach for a Jordan Silver book. At least I'm thankful this only happens like once a year. Holy cow was this book bad. I have no idea how it got good reviews and all the stars. Makes me sad that clearly those people have not read a truly great book, or they would clearly see the difference. I've made some notes, highlighted some parts. In a nutshell, the dude is an ass, has absolutely no respect for women, physically assaults her, and of course, the idiot female loves every second. No thanks !!!! I think I may reach for Alexa Riley next time instead of Silver's crap.
Not sure how I feel about this one. I enjoyed how in denial Braden was with his feelings for Cassie because it makes it all the sweeter when he finally falls.....but I had a hard time getting over how often the dead spouse was mentioned. It didn't bother me that he was married before and for love because I can understand you having different but equal amounts of love for both women because they were vastly different! I was also confused by the fact that his family felt 2 years was a long time to be mourning/feeling guilty for the dead wife and that it was time to move on. 2 years for something like that was not very long at all...i'm sure I would've needed a lot longer than that! Also, I couldn't help but cringe a couple times because Cassie is just so damn immature when it comes to dealing with Braden.
This book was good. The history of the hero was heart breaking. The term 'Bleeding Love' was so thick but lack of background. This book, basically, lack of background so much. So many whys without satisfactory explanation was somekind like normal in this book.
And the story of the hero and the heroine, for me, was lack of chemistry also.
This is another good one. The characters are really cool and very interesting. Braden was a little abrasive and at times I wanted to slap him. Cassie was a cute if naive girl. I felt a little turned off on her character because of the way she was acting at time. The brother was a good character and I enjoyed his involvement. This was a good book
Braden heard a scream and runs outside with his gun to find a young girl getting attacked . Cassie is forever grateful for Braden saving his life and they are drawn to one another but Braden can’t let go of his tragic past . I am just going to be honest here and say a lot of this author’s work is not top quality. She is more focused on quantity . This story is also short and not as detailed as others . The inner monologue of the characters was too much in some areas and I hated the abrasive language Braden used even once they were together . The sex scenes were a little over inflated and I found myself wondering if this writer has had sex before or is she just trying to be dramatic. If Cassie was in that much pain that tears flowed all the time I don’t know why she did it repeatedly. I was cringing trying to read it . With all of these negatives pointed out I have to admit I still liked the possessiveness and protectiveness that Braden showed Cassie . He was all alpha male . Their story was a good one and if you are in the mood for a quick read I would recommend it. I think this is just this writer’s style because she pumps out books fast and they all seem good but still missing something . Still good stories though .
This book was recommended in one of my fb book groups for what happens at the 83% mark. I was curious. Have to say, first time I’ve read anything like that. 🍆
This a definitely a Very grumpy/Sunshine book
After witnessing his wife’s murder, Braden moved into the mountains, to be near his younger brother, the sheriff of the town. . He had a nightmare and went outside to sit when he heard a woman scream. He saved Cassie from two attackers. Next day Cassie goes to his house to thank him. He is grumpy and at some point chases her off. Won’t be the last time he does that either. Younger brother meddles and before you know it, Cassie is coming up the mountain daily to clean the cabin and cook. Eventually they become intimate. Cassie loves him and is all in. But Braden, he thinks he’s showing Cassie how he feels but he isn’t. He still loves his wife and that is what Cassie sees. He chases her off, again. After getting a huge lecture from Little bro, Braden decides to go get his woman for good. Cassie is a freaking saint and you really see this in her actions in the epilogue. Braden is one of the grumpiest people ever and I have to admit some of his grumpy inner dialogue is funny. First time reading this author, won’t be the last.
I LOVED this book. well...i love all of JS's books. i was a little iffy on the h doing the pursuing but she got the job done and he went all alpha in the bedroom sooooo i was a happy camper.
plus, i felt like the characters lacked....depth? more so cassie than braden. yes, she was a psych major but other than that who was she? what was she about? how did she become who she was? and the H still not over the deceased wife? and then Bradens brother going about throwing those two together? "if im not reading you wrong, you have a strong attraction to my brother".....you took her statement once after a near rape...and maybe spoke on the phone once after and yet you came to this conclusion?
DO NOT get me wrong. I LOVE JS books and will still continue to buy EVERY ONE of them. but like "Returned", she may want to think about delving into longer books or like "spitfire" make them a series. It gives the characters more background. oh and Harley? F-ing loved him. wish the dog could get his own book. he was like a person and i loved loved loved everything about him. Go Harley!
First of all “datejust” is not a word. There are so many misplaced words and misused word in this book as in using “the” instead of “that”. (The fact the I felt guilty about the way things had ended, or the fact that I wanted her here.) Each page consisted of one to four errors each, making reading a extremely infuriating. This book has not been edited which is extremely disappointing because otherwise it could be great maybe... obviously I didn’t bother to get too far because of the migraine this book was giving me. I am getting tiered of the lack of editing in books that I am going to give 1 star for all books lacking an editor from now on.
This was not one of Jordan's finest work. It may be because I had just finished reading Foster Dad and Bad Uncle, but this book was cringey and amateurish in comparison. H and h were having the same repetitive dialogue each chapter. For 60% of the book. At 63% we get some action, but the reader (ie me), feels nothing because H and h have been annoyed at each other the WHOLE time with unwilling urges towards each other, so when something finally happens between them, it feels inauthentic because there was absolutely zero chemistry and zero tension. Save yourself the boredom, or read it with friends to get a laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.
As with all Jordan Silver books I LOVED this one!! The H and h were great! I love the insta-love especially when it’s hard to accept for the H. The only thing I was disappointed about was feeling like we didn’t get a good wrap up of the h attack but that was somewhat fixed in the epilogue! All in all it was an amazing story and if you love Jordan Silver you’ll want to read this one and if you haven’t ever read one of her stories... you will DEFINITELY want to read this one and then clear your schedule to go read all her books
I really, really wanted to hate Braden. He was so mean to Cassie and had me crying right along with her when he wailed at her, but knowing how broken he was, it was hard not to feel for him as well. As much as I love Jordan Silver’s insta love, super alpha male hero, books, this book had a deep story line and characters that you couldn’t help but root for and keep turning the pages hoping to finally get to the part where Braden wakes up and sees how much Cassie means to him. Definitely going on my “to be reread” list.
Just when I think Jordan Silver can’t pull at my heartstrings any harder, it’s like she takes it as a challenge. Mountain Man is a story of love, loss, heartache and a rebirth! How does such an alpha male recover from the greatest loss imaginable and find a second chance at happiness? How does such a young heroine have the strength to fight against a memory to get her happily ever after? In the world of Jordan Silver, it’s all possible and I loved the ride! On a final note, can get the dog get his own book??? Please :)
I loved Braden and Cassie as a couple. After 3 years of suffering from the murder of his first wife, Elena, Braden saves Cassie from an assault in the woods. Braden is a true gruff and hard-ass Alpha who has a heart of gold when it comes to Cassie. Cassie is sensitive to his guilt about the death of Braden’s first wife, but nevertheless perseveres in her love and compassion for him. If you’re looking for a good read with the heroine finding enough strength to walk away and gain backbone, read this book.
Braden has been hiding out the last few years, ever since his wife was brutally murdered right in front of him. One night he saves Cassie from two attackers and then he thinks he just wants to get her out of his hair afterwards. These two characters are wonderful and this story is fabulous. It takes you through a lot of different emotions and it's wonderful to see such a strong heroine to help pull that stubborn, broken hero back in to living life instead of just floating through it.
Ms. Silver, she has a way with words a great story . This is a story about a tough man who was wounded and watched someone they love die . He had enough of a conscience when he heard a woman in trouble he went to help him . Even though he shut himself away from all the pain of the past . This is a great story will enjoy it very much thank you Ms. Silver for another entertaining story
Typically, I am not offended by curse words; however, Braden’s words, either spoken or thought, are f**k, or sh*t or bull*t. It was sooooo annoying that I really couldn’t find any plausible reason to continue. When a man’s speech is relegated to this level, then it can only degenerate as the book progresses. Thus, I am abandoning this book, and I’m going to the spa; it’ll be so much more pleasurable than suffering through this book.
She is a master of her craft! Brayden is devastated at watching his wife die in his arms. He is through with the military and has left civilization for the mountains. One night he hears the scream of a woman and runs to her rescue. Cassie is beholden to Brayden and captivated at the same time. His presence pulls her in there is something about him that she can't let go. Can she be the one to bring him back to life.
Braden is retired marine who witnessed his wife’s death and closed himself off, Cassie was being attacked in the woods when he heard her screaming. This book takes you through a variety of emotions, I cried at one point for both Braden and Cassie, really well written bringing both characters into your heart
A good signature J.S. story, but not enough time with the H and h as a couple, for me. I've noticed some of her more recent books have had A LOT of inner dialogue and less couple interaction/dialogue. I'm still going to be reading her next book as soon as it comes out, I'm just hoping it feels more like her earlier work.
A bizarre romance. The mountain man is ex military . After suffering a devastating loss, he isolated himself in the woods away from most people. When he finds himself having to save a young woman from being attacked, it starts to open up old wounds and lost feelings return. A truly intense attraction between two people; total opposites with deep feelings.
Braden had watched his first wife get shot right in front of him. He was never the same. He moved out to the country away from people and society. After rescuing a young lady from two men he realized he was lonely. Cassie is young and naive. Can she handle this burly mountain man? Read to find out.
