This is a cozy mystery, and this is the first book in A Salem B&B mystery series. Charlene brought a historic mansion that she is going to turn into a B&B, but the older owner, Jack, that died is still there as a Ghost. I really loved the characters Jack and Charlene. I did not understand why the cat was so big of a deal. I really enjoyed this book, and I have since read book 2 and 3 in this series.

Mrs. Morris and the Ghost by Traci Wilton is the first book in the cozy A Salem B&B Mystery series. As with most cozy mystery series each book can be read by themselves or in any order as they contain and solve their own mystery stories inside.

After losing her husband Charlene Morris needed a fresh start in new surroundings so she decides to move from Chicago to New England. Charlene found a wonderful historic mansion in Salem and thought starting her own bed and breakfast in the touristy town would be the change she needed.

When arriving in her new home Charlene knew the B&B would need some work before her planned opening but when she never expected to find with her purchase was the ghost of the previous owner. Jack Strathmore believes that he was murdered three years before and not knowing who killed him has him trapped in the mansion so now that Charlene has arrived and can see him he asks for help solving his murder.

With fall arriving there’s not a better time for a quirky cozy with a ghostly presence. Mrs. Morris and the Ghost was a fun read from beginning to end with a crazy amount of laughs considering we should be concentrating on solving a murder. Definitely a series that is right up my alley in having lots of fun mixed with the suspects and twists.

I love ghost stories. Always have. When I first read the blurb for this book, I knew I would enjoy the story. And I did! For me, this book was a mix of nostalgia for favorite haunting tales like The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, and my love for cozy mysteries with a ghostly theme.

The basics: Charlene Morris relocates to Salem, MA after her husband's death. She just couldn't stand living in the house and city where she and her husband had been happy for so many years. So, she bought a large estate in Salem with the intent of opening a bed and breakfast. Charlene doesn't have much time to get the house set up because it's almost Halloween, and that would be a perfect time to debut a new B&B in Salem. As she busies herself with hiring contractors to paint, buying furniture for the bedrooms and readying herself to start taking reservations, she notices something strange about the house. It seems she isn't alone. She left the ghosts of her past behind in Chicago only to trade them for a real ghost in a large house in Salem. To rid herself of the ghost, Charlene finds herself investigating a death. Was it a natural death....or something much more sinister?

I loved this story! A second book in this series, Mrs. Morris and the Witch, is scheduled to come out in April, 2020. I will definitely be reading the next book! The ghost situation and mystery moved along at a nice pace, with plenty of suspense, quirky local characters and suspects. I like the characters....although I do get a sneaking suspicion there might be a love triangle of sorts ahead in this story line. I hope not....that particular plot device is over-used in cozies. Charlene is an intelligent, strong and interesting main character. She's trying to put her life back together while working through grief. I'm anxious to see how she is going to work through owning a haunted B&B. I think in Salem that would be a positive thing for a tourist based business! I can't wait to see how the ongoing plot and characters develop in this series!

Very enjoyable cozy! I'm definitely going to be reading more by this new author!

Charlene Morris needs a change— something different after the death of her husband. Moving from her home in Chicago to a historic house in Salem, Massachusetts that she’s never seen sounds about as different as it gets. But then she didn’t expect to wake up on her first night in the gorgeous house to the ghost of the former owner, Jack Strathmore, standing at the foot of her bed. Now if she ever wants to get her house ghost-free in time to open it as a B&B for the tourist season, she’s going to have to solve Jack’s murder.

Author Traci Wilton has brewed a wicked concept. Charlene wanted a new life, but she never intended to dive into someone else’s, and that’s what makes her such a compelling sleuth. Where others are nosy for the sake of being nosy, she has a legitimate reason for investigating the murder: there’s a ghost in her house and he needs to move on. However, she’s still dealing with the loss of her husband, which often makes her hesitate in trying new things. This mystery allows her to grow, coming out of her grief as she attempts to aid Jack, and Wilton expertly blends the overall mystery against Charlene’s time of personal change.

And this hesitancy works because sometimes Charlene bumbles through the investigation. She’s clunky with her questioning, pointed with accusations, and earnest in her theories— no matter what the evidence suggests. And yet it all clicks. Charlene comes across as sincere, though timid, and as though she’s trying her best.

However, the mystery itself is a bit of a slower burn than an average cozy. There’s a lot of world building, with Charlene slowly integrating into her new Salem community. The majority of the action takes place in the house, sometimes limiting her interactions with other characters. And this makes sense because part of Jack’s background as a ghost means that he’s not allowed to leave his home’s grounds. Wilton combats this with a lot of renovations and running errands, and it’s obvious that future installments will be served by actual B&B guests and more comfortable interactions with locals.

Even so, the paranormal aspects run away with the show. Charlene and Jack’s interactions are fascinating as the two navigate the rules of ghost-dom, and their relationship from reluctant acquaintances to genuine friends binds the story together. It’s a spooky, somewhat heartwarming start to a series.

Note: I received a free ARC of this book through NetGalley.

Well, this was my first time reading a cozy paranormal mystery and it did not disappoint! It was a pleasant escape, and I enjoyed it very much! I was instantly drawn to this particular cozy mystery because it took place in Salem, Massachusetts - one of my dream vacation destinations!

After moving from Chicago to Salem, MA to purchase a historic mansion and start a new beginning after the death of her husband, Charlene Morris inadvertently encounters herself trapped in solving a paranormal mystery for a ghost named Jack who haunts the mansion, cannot recall the details of his death, and is threatening the grand opening of her bed and breakfast. Charlene has invested everything she has into the development of her bed and breakfast and vows to stop at nothing (including even helping a ghost) to ensure her business is successful.

My first impression was how perfect this book series would be adapted into Hallmark movies! The story has warm character interactions in addition to all the necessary spooky and suspicious vibes with just the right element of mystery that isn't too intense yet a worthy page turner. The ending twist did surprise me. The story was well written in that it didn't reveal too much for me to guess the ending, which I appreciated. I knew it would be a positive ending of course because it is a "cozy" but finding out the "who" and the "why" was worth it. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series, "Mrs. Morris and the Witch" and have already pre-ordered the third book, "Mrs. Morris and the Ghost of Christmas Past" on Amazon.

For anyone who hasn't read a "cozy" yet and are wondering what it is like I just recently, read this quote: "In a cozy, there is a happily ever after and justice is served. That does not always happen in the real world. A cozy is a brief escape from the troubles of the real world, and I, for one, plan to take that escape over and over again."

This cozy mystery was recommended to my by a friend who knows that I adore all things related to Salem, MA. Well, make that almost all things. A main character who moves to a new town to open a bed and breakfast as a new start is fairly cookie cutter as a premise. The place being haunted isn’t much more original. Mrs. Morris and the Ghost is unique in that it includes the perspective of the ghost as well as that of the MC. Unfortunately, the ghost isn’t all that likable, and the romance elements in the book are off-putting at best. This one was a miss for me. I won’t be reading book #2.

Jesus lady fire your editor don't thank him, he did you no favors. This book was a mess, especially after the first few chapters, the latter half of the book needed a lot of work. Inconsistencies, typos, poor word choice, contradictions, no research done, plot holes big enough to drive a truck through, bad structure. The characters were not very likable and had no growth and half were very cliche.

Our bipolar (there is no way she isn't she behavior and manner is so erratic and changing on a dime) MC had just moved into a mini-mansion she bought sight unseen and wants to turn it into a B&B in 1 month on a low budget only to find out it's haunted by possessive, controlling, asshole of a ghost who behaves like a 2-year-old always throwing tantrums if he's not bullying the MC.

She decides to help solve the ghost's murder so he can move on (another annoying thing...he practically demands she help him, then does stuff that would make anyone stop by not answering questions, bullying her, throwing tantrums that ruin the house, and actually tells her to stop then gets mad when she doesn't make any progress or investigates what he doesn't like or thinks she should leave alone...) and in the meanwhile falls in love with him despite the fact he's a ghost, she repeatedly insists she isn't interested in men at the moment, and he's an asshole (and the fact that she is super judgmental that his wife had an affair, which she rages about often, but when she finds out he did too she can forgive him and tell him it's okay because his wife had the affair first...so it was only natural for him to cheat too). Also, every man she meets immediately hits on her and are trying to date her even though she tells everyone she isn't interested in dating or men at the moment and tells herself that all the time.

She also worms her way into the high society/rich/old heritage families in town even though they normally don't give newcomers the time of day, which is a horrible plot hole because her number 1 murder suspect who was from a good family and married into the group and gave out money and held lots of parties for them couldn't get in after years of trying and she can after just meeting them? Nope. I don't think so.

Also, I would love to fill my house with the kind of antique furniture (and not so antique) she is buying for the very low price she is paying (really 6 big brand new side tables for the bedrooms for $50!) on a supposed to be very tight and low budget, and get half off because the male shop owners hit on her and she will TRY to send some of her customers their way, but no guarantee. The sheriff of the town she gets on her side to help her/ignore her blundering into cases is so hot to date her/get with her that he is half stalking her and bullying into her life by pressuring her every time he sees/talks to her. Lady get a restraining order if you insist on turning him down because you fell in love with the asshole ghost you didn't like at first and are actively trying to get rid of...

The ending was kinda meh and you can figure out who the bad guy is fairly easily and his reason why was just kind of like...um okay...really...that's why...sure fine whatever.

I will not be reading the next book.

Great book! It was mostly down to the author’s style of writing, but the plot drew me in as well. Advertising executive Charlene Morris has lost her husband. With no kids, no spouse and nothing to keep her tied to Chicago, she embarks on a new adventure as a bed-and-breakfast owner in Salem, Mass. She can’t believe her luck when she becomes the owner of a very affordable yet very beautiful 8,000 square feet house. Soon, it becomes clear why the asking price of this elegant property was so low. It is haunted by the ghost of Jack Strathmore, who died at the bottom of the stairs 3 years ago. Jack needs someone to help him find out how he was murdered so he can move on in the afterlife. But it’s not long before the two become friends and Charlene isn’t so sure she wants him to move on…

You'll love Charlene and Jack as they help each other heal from past hurts, track down a killer, and forge a friendship that transcends even death. History lovers will enjoy the Salem, MA setting, and anyone interested in antiques and old houses can live vicariously through Charlene as she gets her bed & breakfast up and running. Review:

I thought that Charlene was a smart caring lady who is mourning the loss of her husband. She has moved to New England to get a fresh start, and she decides to open a B&B. There is one small problem, the house is occupied by a ghost named Jack. After getting over the initial shock of Jack being a ghost, Charlene agrees to help find out if Jack was murdered, in hopes of him being able to move one.

The characters are well developed and well rounded. I enjoyed getting to know Charlene and Jack and I liked how their relationship grew as the book went on. Detective Sam Holden is a great guy and he has shown some interest in getting to know Charlene better.

The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and these descriptions kept me engaged from the very first page. The mystery was well plotted and had enough clues to sift through and suspects to consider. I was not sure of the culprit until it was revealed.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. Paranormal cozy ghost stories are some of my favorites to read and this book fit in that category very nicely.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book provided by the publisher, Kensington Books, and NetGalley, which I greatly appreciate.

I took a break and was off cozy books as I found them to be too formulaic, but the cover of this book and the Ghost in the title drew me in. Spooky/ghostly cozy are my new favorite. And this book hit the right spot in me.

Charlene moved to Salem with its rich history to open a Bed and Breakfast. Wanting to make it a success, she worked hard to get it ready for a Halloween opening and soon banged into the its lone ghostly occupant, Jack. Oh, he was a yummy one. She soon learned that for him to move to the great beyond, she needed to find his murderer. And the story rolled on.

My first book by author Traci Wilton, and I was sooo enamored by her writing. She drew me in not only with the story but with its depth and maturity. There was a richness in the prose, an attention to detail which quickly made a place in my heart. The story may seem familiar, but believe me, it is Traci's storytelling talent which made me feel as if I was with Charlene. I even had a small crush on Jack. Both these characters grew on to me, though I didn't like Jack's temper much... Ah well, I couldn't very well argue with a ghost or tell him to calm down.

It was a murder mystery filled with knickknacks of furnishing of the B&B and the snippets of the people of the town. All of them were potential murderers in my list of suspects. The pace was slower than I was used to. But I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Overall, a fun, cozy read in a rainy afternoon.

A new cozy mystery series set in Salem, Massachusetts. Charlene Morris needs a fresh start after the death of her husband and buys an estate in Salem in order to open a Bed-and-Breakfast. What she doesn’t know is that her first guest is already there.

Description:

A grieving young widow, Charlene needed a new start–so she bought a historic mansion, sight unseen, and drove from Chicago to New England to start turning it into a bed-and-breakfast. On her first night in the house, she awakens to find a handsome man with startling blue eyes in her bedroom. Terror turns to utter disbelief when he politely introduces himself as Jack Strathmore–and explains that he used to live here–when he was alive. He firmly believes that someone pushed him down the stairs three years ago, and he won’t be able to leave until someone figures out who. If Charlene wants to get her business up and running in time for the Halloween tourist rush, and get this haunting houseguest out of the way, she’ll have to investigate. Though truth be told, this ghost is starting to grow on her . . .

Thoughts:

I’ll be honest cozy mysteries are always hit-or-miss with me. So when in the first paragraph we learn the main character had bought an 8,000 sq ft house sight unseen my internal response was already a little disbelieving and was doubting how the book review would go. But, it won me over. I still find buying that kind of house like that a bit odd, but there is a charm within the story that kept me engaged and entertained. Somewhere between Charlene meeting Jack (the ghost) and all the house setup she needs to do in order to open the B&B is a lovely story about a woman trying to move forward in life. She’s not ready to begin dating yet, but you can tell she’s getting there.

This first book leads up to right before she opens the B&B and handles all the preparations she has to make in order to get it ready – purchasing furniture and other decorative items, hiring staff, marketing, and learning more about the town so that she can recommend restaurants and sight-seeing places. However, she does all this while also trying to solve Jack’s murder because after all, who wants a ghost in the house to scare guests away? Under the premise of trying to find more information about the property she lives in so that she can do a write-up for the guests, Charlene begins to ask questions…a lot of questions. This causes her to make friends and then to really annoy them. Now that I’ve finished the book, I’ll be curious to see what some of the relationships are like in the next book. Have some of these folks forgiven her or gotten over her questions? Or, maybe we don’t see them again and so it’s all good. I got the impression, though, that a few of them are reoccurring characters so I suspect we’ll find out.

The ghost is a likeable character who floats in and out of the story. His emotions sometimes seem to Charlene to be a little uneven – she suspects it is due to him being a ghost or the topic of his murder. It will be nice to see how the relationship changes now that everything is out in the open and there are no more secrets out there.

I also hope we get more of the minor character Minnie in the upcoming books- when she is around there is more of a homey atmosphere about the place and story. I also see her as someone Charlene can potentially confide in and discuss certain issues or questions with in future mysteries.

At the end is a sneak peak of the next book in the series: Mrs. Morris and the Witch. If you are a fan of cozy mysteries, I definitely recommend giving this one a try. It has a nice premise and good cast of characters and with it being a B&B there is a lot of opportunity for side stories that can keep us entertained.

This is the start of what I think is a promising new paranormal cozy mystery. I enjoyed the setting and the characters along with the paranormal element. Charlene is a very likable character and I think the author did a good job with developing her as someone who is grieving but strong at the same time. I liked the secondary cast of characters that were introduced and think they will develop nicely over time. The mystery was well done and I almost guessed the identity of the killer. The author did a good job of dropping just enough twist into the clues to confuse me a bit. There is a potential romance for Charlene but I am hoping that the author doesn't jump into a romance quite yet for Charlene especially with how the story between her and Jack progressed.

All in all, I enjoyed the story and found it well written and entertaining. I am looking forward to seeing where the author takes the series and characters so I will be reading more of the series.

A big thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book!

Gosh, this was a lot of fun! I'm used to the usual cozy formula, and when something really shakes that up it goes one of two ways, awful or brilliant. This was brilliant! For starters, we have a very active sleuth in Charlene. Why would she be investigating the death of the former owner of her new home though? Because he asked her to, of course! Having a ghost around made for a very different mystery, even if Jack can't remember the last week of his life. It WAS a good mystery too, with the trail cold and the clues few. Made the ending oh so satisfying!

The setting and the pacing were great too, being in Salem adds an appropriate creepy vibe and the story gives just enough to keep you intrigued. There is a good network of characters forming around Charlene too, and an interesting set up for book two!

The publishing date for this one isn't too far away, keep it on your radar because it's well worth a read! Five stars.

As a first in a new series, Mrs. Morris and the Ghost is an exciting addition to this genre.
Charlene Morris is looking for a new start. After the tragic loss of her soul mate, moving to Salem, MA is just what she needs. The home she purchased is better than expected, the town is full of wonderful people, and her bed and breakfast is already getting reservations.
What Charlene didn't expect was to be sharing her house with its former owner.

I loved everything about this book. The story was interesting, the characters are very likable and colorful and the story flowed from beginning to end, leaving me guessing all the way.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for approving me to read an advanced copy of the book.
I'm really looking forward to reading more in this series.

This is just the kind of cozy mystery I like-magical and set in a B&B (although any witchy little shop or house works too). I love that it's set in Salem and the ghost is a fun addition. I bought all the books in the series and I'm thinking they will be the perfect breezy fall reads.

Mrs. Morris and the Ghost is an enjoyable new cozy mystery. Charlene Morris lost the love of her life eighteen months ago and every where she goes in Chicago there are reminders. She has purchased a massive mansion in Salem, based on pictures sent to her by the realtor, where she plans on opening a bed and breakfast. She wants it to be an elegant establishment. Having a resident ghost was not the plans even if he is handsome and charming. Dr. Jack Strathmore IV is convinced he was murdered three years ago and believes it is the reason for why he is unable to move on to the great beyond. Charlene is the first person who can see Jack and he needs her help. I like Traci Wilton’s conversational writing style. It is engaging and made this new cozy mystery easy to read. Charlene is a strong protagonist who is ready to move forward with her life away from her meddlesome mother. I found Charlene’s first reaction to Jack to be realistic and humorous. Jack is a great character. He has charm, wit, twinkling blue eyes and is a snappy dresser. Charlene sets out to discover who harmed Jack by talking with his wife, old friends, Detective Sam Holden, and the coroner. Charlene has all the subtly of a bulldozer. She is direct and pushy which leads to some ticked off individuals (but it is just her first time investigating). This whodunit can be solved before the reveal courtesy of the less than subtle clues. Charlene has a couple of men interested in her including Sam Holden. I would like less romance in future books (lots of flirting) and a more action packed mystery. I thought the story lagged during the middle and could have benefited from a peppier pace. The ending was a delight and left me smiling. A Persian named Silva joins Charlene in her new home. The cat’s antics had me giggling and I thought Traci Wilton captured a cat’s demeanor perfectly. I enjoyed the descriptions of Charlene’s beautiful new home, the furniture and the sights of Salem. The author took the time to establish the main characters and setting the stage for the series (wonderful world building). The first chapter of Mrs. Morris and the Witch is at the end of the book. Mrs. Morris and the Ghost has a magnificent mansion, a pretty Persian, flirtatious fellows, a gallant ghost, and a reluctant gumshoe.

This first book in a new series follows a real formula.

The female protagonist is either widowed or divorced. She sinks all her money into a B&B and then finds out it is haunted and the ghost wants her to solve their murder.
I easily guessed the whodunit by the not so subtle clues.

However, something about the characters was entertaining and I would read the next book in the series.

This was a fun cozy that was such a joy to read and I absolutely loved the backdrop of this one. An old historic mansion converted into a B & B in Salem which is haunted by an attractive ghost. Wanna help him solve the mystery of how he died? The back and forth banter between ghost and our main character here, Charlene is laugh out loud funny and the rapport is undeniable. I enjoyed it overall and definitely going to be reading the rest of this series.

Once again Kensington Publishing has won me over with a great start to a new to me series , it has everything in it that I love about a cozy mystery ,and in a way it reminded me of an old black and white movie I grew up watch called The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
(1947), and it even had me laughing at times , wither it was the ghost , Charlene or the cat that just showed up and decided that it owned Charlene and the house , and the story its was such a fun read and enjoyable that i didn't want to put it down , it's was never slow going and has a nice place to it , as well as enjoyable characters and a bit of mystery as well as a ghost ,a maybe murder , a pushy cat , and has plenty of surprised as well as an ever growing list of suspects , and it also has a feeling like there might be a new romance on the horizon for Charlene . With that said I want to thank Netgalley as well as Kensington for letting me read and review it and I'm so looking forward to the second book.

I read this book in 2019 when it first came out. Loved it! There are now 4 books in this series and a 5th coming out soon, so I decided to revisit Mrs. Morris and her haunted Salem B&B. In audio this time!

The audio, narrated by Callie Beaulieu, is about 9.5 hours long. Beaulieu does a great job of voice acting. She brought the story and characters to life!

I'm going to listen my way through the first four books in this series to be ready for the new book. Listening on Hoopla through my local public library!

Well I was led astray. I was wrong, wrong and wrong on who did it. So, of course, I love this book! Actually, I really enjoyed much more than the mystery. Charlene Morris lost her husband and decides to make a big change in her life. She moves to Salem and opens a B&B, which turns out to be haunted. Personally I would see that as a cool thing, especially there. The Ghost was not a witch though and he needs help. This is the extra whip cream and sprinkles on the mystery. Charlene has a lot of personal growth that she needs to go through. Happily the author decided to use that in the story. So we get much more than just a mystery. I stayed up reading this even though I’m doing a readathon later today, (it is 3:40am where I live). I really wanted to finish it. I’m happy I did because I was not disappointed with the ending. Sure, I would love to say why I enjoyed it but if I did, would you need to read the book? Would you want to? Not if I tell you everything. The last thing I want to say, for those who enjoy old movies like I do, I was reminded of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, (in the way the book made me feel as the movie did). Check this book out!

Starting a new business is challenging, but when you're opening a B&B, on Halloween, and the former owner is a ghost and is bound to your new B&B, things get interesting!

Charlene Morris, recently widowed, has moved to Boston to open a B&B and try to rebuild her life. Little does she know her first guest is Dr. Jack Strathmore - handsome, witty and dead. Charlene is convinced his death was no accident and decides to investigate to save her business and help Jack.

I liked the character of Charlene and the descriptions of the house, decor and Boston were charming. The mystery was well written and I didn't expect the ending though it made perfect sense. The romantic feelings Charlene had for Jack were a little hard to process - not because he was a ghost but because I didn't like how he was involved in the ending and he's a little too bossy. However, I would read the second book to give him another chance!

A perfect Halloween read!

I received an ARC, from NetGalley, for a fair and honest review of this book.

Mrs. Morris and the Ghost is a story about a grieving widow who is looking for change. She packs up her life and moves cross country to open a B & B. What she doesnt expect is to spend her life savings on a haunted house. Will she be able to stay there and create a successful business? Or will the ghost be too much?

I truly loved this story and found that I quickly fell in love with Charlene and Jack. Not only was I invested in their mission, I was also invested in their goals. Author Traci Wilton does an amazing job at weaving a tangled web that will keep readers guessing throughout the entire story, and shocked at the end!

I highly recommend this book and cant wait to read more from this author!

Perfect start to a new series! This book has everything I love about a cozy mystery. I loved the main character, Charlene, and the house she buys in Salem MA to turn in to a B&B is amazing! I also adored the ghost who lives in the house, Jack. Jack wants Charlene to help him find out how he died, as in, who murdered him. Lots of suspects in the book, but I did figure out who it was before I got to the end. I hope this will be a long lasting series, I have already added book 2 to my list!

I enjoyed this book. I do think that sections of it dragged out longer than they needed to. For a while the pacing of the investigating and the discovery of clues is really slow. It felt like nothing was happening. I liked the ending though, very unexpected. #MrsMorrisAndTheGhost #NetGalley

Charlene is trying to get over the death of her husband. She has decided to buy a mansion in Salem and start a Bed and breakfast. She thought this would give her a new start. Once she arrived at the mansion, a cat started showing up which was a mystery she had to solve. And she did.

But what she didn't count on was having a ghost show up. The former owner of the mansion who can't leave for some reason or other. He thinks that he was murdered but he can't remember is last few days before he supposedly had a heart attack.

He wants Charlene to help find out what happened to him. As usual Ms. Hall has a way with spinning a tale that keeps you intrigued all the way to the end of the book. I really think that you will enjoy this book.

Charlene move to Salem, trying to move on after the tragic death of the husband to open a B&B, but what’s Salem without Witches, Ghouls, Goblins, but in this case it’s the Ghost of the former owner of the house she’d bought. Jack Strathmore unable to move on believing he has some unfinished business to attend too enlists Charlene’s help to delve into his unexpected death three years prior.
With plenty of suspects to choose from, likable characters, a feline stowaway and a temperamental Ghost to boot, this book is a charm. Very enjoyable, cannot wait for the next book in the series.
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book. Opinions are expressly my own.

Mrs. Morris and the Ghost grabs you right from the first page and will leave you in shock when you find out who done it just before the end.

Charlene moved into a home full of surprises. One surprise is the resident hot ghost of course, and the second surprise, she finds a new cat, which Charlene is not a total cat lover so this becomes interesting as she tries to solve a murder to get the ghost out and deal with a cat she doesn’t want.

The only downside to the story for me was it seemed like every man and ghost was hot after Charlene so by the middle of the story, it was on my last nerve. Other than that this is a good read that will leave you wanting more.
