December - Calendar Gals - D L Gallie
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A wonderfully inspirational story, filled with emotion and all the feels.

D L Gallie delivers the reader an emotion charged but uplifting story of love, loss, joy and hope.

Her characters are real and their relationships are honest and heartfelt. Kasey and Branson share the ultimate loss but in that they find their ultimate happily ever after.

No spoiler but a wonderful short read, one that will definitely leave its mark on your emotions.

This wonderful friends-to-lovers novella from the Calendar Gals series features Kasey and Branson. They suffered a terrible loss when Branson's brother, Kody, who is also Kasey's fiance, dies. In order to get through their pain, they rely on each other, and when Kasey finds out she's pregnant, she leans on Branson for emotional support.

Branson's always had a crush on Kasey, and Kasey's always thought Branson was special. But when Branson is there for her after Kody dies, her feelings start to change from friendship, to lust, to love. With a series of flashbacks and sexy times, Ms. Gallie keeps DECEMBER light enough to be a fun read, but emotional enough to tug at your heartstrings. I especially loved how the author dealt with Kasey's grief and guilt over her emerging feelings for Branson, her deceased fiance's brother. I also loved the cute ending and the happily ever after that Kasey and Branson shared, which honored and respected their memories of Kody!

This was my first book by D.L. Gallie, and I look forward to reading more of her stories, as well as the Calendar Gals novellas!

The Calendar Gals Series- December by D L Gallie.
It was raw emotional from the first chapter the heartache the lost, the fear on what was to happen. Scared and feeling overwhelmed Kasey turns to the only person who has always been there Branson. This was a very emotional read with plenty of heartache and love and support.
Kasey learns that everything that has happened around her has happened for a reason. Surrounded by such strength and love gives her the strength to survive and fight for what was meant to be. A beautifully written love story that will live on forever.

The Unexpected Letter is a quick read but is overflowing with emotion and inspiration. As Kasey and Brandon experience a tragedy that binds them in support and friendship, an unsuspecting feeling starts to arise. As confusion sets in for both parties along with guilt, it might just take a surprise message to show them that the heart wants what it wants. This story gives you a bit of everything from devastation, acceptance, reflection, love, passion, romance, with just the right amount of naughty and nice.

This is the third book in this new series I have read and I can't wait to read more. This is Kasey and Branson story.

I love how Jake from June (Calendar Men) by C Renee is in it. I wasn't 100% sure it was him until I got to the end of the book.

I received an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily giving my honest review, and I plan to buy this book when it becomes available.

Kasey is burying her fiance on the same day that she finds out that she is pregnant with his child. She turns to his brother that she has always been close to. While helping each other through their grief feelings begin to change. This is a well written, easy to read and enjoyable novella. Starts in sadness but definitely has a happy ending, well worth a read.

DL Gallie stoke my heart with her previous books. This book just upped my love for her and her writing. She has such a way with words and situations that make it all work together and leave you reeling with feelings you didn’t expect.

The characters are broken due to circumstances and together they get put back together, piece by piece. Trust and redemption work together for good in this book. It definitely leaves you happy and in awe of the words on these pages.

The book does go back and forth between past and present, but is done to show you how far they’ve come. It is beneficial to the story and provides more details and insight.

Who doesn’t want a Benson in their life?

He was always there for her, right from the very first moment and even before his brother... then he got shoved into the best friend role.

The fact that there was so much on the line between them, made this one a risk in every which way you looked at it

Kasey and Kody were such a special couple, my heart honestly just about broke in two reading the first couple of chapters.

Branson and Kasey struggle with their emotions and rightly so, given the situation it would be horrendous to try to sort through these new feelings and possibilities. Plus the possible social scandal, I felt for them. Having actually known of a similar situation, it certainly does sort out who your true friends and supportive family members are very quickly.

There are some sensitive issues in this story, they are handled well though and to balance these is the terrific sense of humour. Some wonderful expressions and fun banter between the characters leave you chuckling out loud.

The story is told in the present but also with flashbacks to the past, to fill in background details so readers fully understand the dynamic of the characters and their relationship. It’s a fast paced short story that leaves you feeling great.

Everything happens for a reason

Who knew one letter had the power to change the course of my life?

Well apparently DL Gallie did when she gave us this emotional roller coaster story. She wastes no time bringing the pain. But quickly turns up the heat. Don’t let her fool you though, she slips emotional moments throughout the entire book.

Hell I’m not even Preggo and he got my hormones raging- lord help Kasey and her raging pregnancy hormones.

It was sweet how their relationship progressed. Also that epilogue was seriously everything!

As much as it pains us to have lost Kody, yes I feel as though I lost him too and grieved him, without his loss Branson & Kasey wouldn’t have their HeA.

Great read!

Such a sweet love story about moving on after a tragedy. Kasey lost the love of her life unexpectedly, and Branson lost his brother. Kasey forged ahead, but discovered she was pregnant with her deceased finance’s kid. Branson stepped in and became her rock. They skirted around a romantic relationship for fear of what people would think. Excellent happy ending!

An emotional story. Branson and Kacey were grieving the loss of someone they both loved. They felt guilty for their attraction towards each other but once they acted on these feelings it was amazing.

I loved book one in this series, but book 2 really took the prize! It was a heartbreaking, emotional read, unlike anything I think I've read! Which really makes it phenomenal! Branson was a tremendous character!

This book starts out heart-wrenching and ends up heartwarming. Kasey and Branson's story is an unusual journey to HEA. When fate throws Kasey's life into turmoil, her dead fiancé's brother, Branson steps in and takes care of her and the baby she's carrying. Certain that pregnancy hormones are the cause of her attraction to Branson, Kasey tries to ignore her feelings. However, Branson is feeling the same. The emotions and turmoil of the situation is handled well by Ms. Gallie. Luckily, they both have friends they can lean on; especially when Kasey goes through the salsa and snap pea cravings and the crying jags.
While circumstances are unusual for the couple, that doesn't make the emotions any less real. The journey to that discovery is intense, heartfelt, and a bonus. Ms. Gallie's characters are fun, realistic, and their banter is sexy and amusing. I can't wait for the rest of the friends to find their happily ever afters. I enjoy everything I read from Ms. Gallie and this holiday story is a great way to start the holiday season.

Ohhhh DL Gallie is back with another short and steamy read to get me in the mood for some holiday cheer. The opening of The Unexpected Letter got to me and I was beyond anxious to see what was in store for Kasey.

My heart went out to Kasey. Torn between loss and hope. Struggling to balance hormones and emotions. Falling for her best friend...that touch of the forbidden between her and Branson is what made this book work.

There was a lot of back and forth. Feelings of guilt warred with wanting to move forward for both of them. I liked that everyone in their circle was so accepting of the tricky situation. While I did find a few spots where the language was a bit repetitive, it didn't take away from the heartfelt love between Kasey and Branson. And that ending...sweetness city!

This book is the story of Kase and Brennan, and Kody. It’s complicated and heartbreaking, and also beautiful at the same time. They are a lovely family who are very close, them tragedy strikes and things have to change. There is guilt and lots of feelings, then lust and sexy times between them until in the end they find their HEA.

I really liked this story, it was like a mini rollercoaster and an adventure that has a happy ending despite what life throws at them.

The Unexpected Letter is an unexpectedly emotional rollercoaster ride of epic proportions.
A heartbreakingly beautiful story of love and hope after loss, from the wonderfully talented DL Gallie.
Tender, heartfelt, and just damn good. That epilogue and extended epilogue.... box of tissues required.
