I waffled between 2 and 3 stars, so let's go with 2.5

Being a big fan of the first book, and the sequel, it was a surprise I disliked so much about this series finisher. Laken Cane still writes her words fluidly; the reading was smooth, I could easily envision the scenes she crafted, actually feel the despair and darkness in the atmosphere, but maybe she didn't mean to make me so annoyed and frustrated that it ended up shadowing the good stuff.

Main issue? I know this is a darker RH PNR series, so the last book being darker after the apocalyptic events of the second makes sense. I'm now left with a main character I don't like or care about. She's mainly emotionless, at times cruel, isn't as convincing with her romantic state (now it's more like obsessive control than actual feelings). Since it's a Reverse Harem Urban Fantasy, there needs to still be real affection and attachment, otherwise it's just a twisted use-and-abuse system eventually.

Giving me more grating ammunition, she's downright arrogant and almost ignorant. She's so consumed with her abilities now she unreasonably thinks she can handle anything, so keeps charging in without proper planning, and gets taken down a peg a few times by other characters trying to reason with her that, while she may be all that, she's not ALL that.

The ending feels rushed and it throws mindbenders. Rhys, wow. Didn't see it coming, and while it makes it's own kind of sense, it's depressing and doesn't follow the usual RH trope. I always liked Crawford but didn't see that coming at the end (when was that hinted at before? Is it simply her vamp appeal turned up on speed dial?) If Himself had just consumed his last assistant for a refill of power, he should have a long time remaining before it wears off, but with the change of events at the end, then the sacrifice of a character is pointless?

There were some things I liked about the book. "Darkness" was a true villain with creepy ick factor and sociopathic, psychopathic overload. Angus is still his usual Bull self and it awesome. I loved her relationship with Amias and some of the progression.

On the other hand, not all characters will get a choice on leaving her from now on. She shows this with her control and using others to help her and her force. It was disturbing to stomach.

Instead of the usual RH where people are glued together by emotion, it feels more like now that most are stuck together and not necessarily by their choices and free will.

The series is over. It was a good series, but the last book was a tough digest.

Possibly 4.5, but I'm not sure how I feel about the ending, yet...

This is a great relatively unsung RH series, which is a shame because I've really enjoyed it.

If you are a UF fan, who likes kick ass, likeable MC with an array of supernaturals and a good mixture of action and romance (with RH as a bonus) then you should totally pick this series up! It also has a darkness to it that I live, along with tension and action.

We meet a very different Trinity at the start of this, and I really liked how it was handled. There is an enemy to overcome, and the main plot focuses on that, but there's also the subplots if what it going on society wise in Bay Town, Trinity piecing her life back together and of course the dragon...

While this is the final book, apparently, it doesn't feel like it from the ending. It's definitely bittersweet and things feel a bit annoyingly unresolved.

Despite that, I read almost all of this in one sitting and really enjoyed it!

Loved it.

Sad to see a great series end. In this final book, Trinity has to try and find some semblance of her humanity after the horrors of dying in book 3 and coming back as a vampire. I was happy to see more of Leo, and loved a visitor from another series fave, pop in for a minute. Yes, the series has ended, but I can see the potential for another book in the future.(please!!!) I can't wait to see what Laken conjures from her twisted mind in the future. ❤

Buy it, read it, and then nurse your book hangover the best you can. 😁

I really, really liked this series but I have no idea what in the hell happened with book four.

The ending, oh my god, the ending was so abrupt and so unsatisfying. After reading all four books I
thought it would have everything I needed the soft, gushy, romantic resolution that would end with
her and her men gazing out into the sunset with the bull's kids running around in front of the house
squealing with laughter.

Them looking on taking that moment of peace knowing they have to get back to their duty of protecting the humans and helping people find their paths.

I was really flipping through trying to find the rest of the book at the end! Like really that's all? Rhy becomes that king of everything and Trin has to loose him? This, right after the realization HE HAS TO GET WITH ANOTHER DRAGON BECAUSE SHE CANT HANDLE HIM.

I was like O.o this is the last book? My questioned will never be answered? She won't developed a super vagina and be able to take him on so that he can stay with her?

So many unanswered question such disappointment.

NOOOOOOO it can’t to be over!!!!

I absolutely freaking loved this series. The FMC was BadA**, and oh yea her men, total BadA** alpha males!!!

I loved the characters, the story line, the way the story flowed and came together was amazing, but at the end it just felt like there were still way to many unanswered questions.

A fantastic conclusion to a great Urban Fantasy series.

This final book in the Silverlight series is beautiful, triumphant and filled with bittersweet tears. There is loss as well as gain throughout the story and that makes it richer and more true.

In this final episode we see Trinity find her path after beating back the Rifters. She has risen as a vampire, but also something more. With Amias, the vampire master that started her down the path to becoming something supernatural, at her side, she continues to fight to protect the humans and supernatural inhabitants of Red Valley and Bay Town.

Her new identity takes some time to grown into being as she fights her way back from the primal urges of the new vampire. When she finally returns to herself things in Red Valley are different. With the victory against the Rifters, humans of the city are more kindly disposed towards the supernatural and the return of the Vampire Elders after the Rifters prison broke has changed attitudes among the humans. An uneasy truce is beginning to come into place.

In her absence Trinity’s men have become fragmented and she needs to find a way to bring them all back together. Along with her change in circumstances she has to help Shane come to terms with his resurrection as a vampire, Rhys must fight against the human government who want to own the power of his dragon and the loyal Leo must find his own happiness.

There is plenty of juicy plot to keep the pages turning as you read this book, just like the rest in the series. There are powerful emotions to accompany that plot which makes it wonderfully fulfilling experience to read. There are definitely some sad and painful parts to the resolution of the series and there are hints of untold stories for some side characters that make me hope for future books. I also liked the guest appearance of Owen from Shiv Crew. It was a nice touch for those of us who have read that great series.

I highly recommend this whole series. It’s full of joy, pain, beauty and suffering. It’s a glorious journey with wondrous creatures to capture your heart and imagination. Read it!

All great things must come to an end...

An achingly beautiful conclusion to an utterly epic series! The book hangover struggle is very real right now. 😊 I feel like my emotions are just raw at the moment. As always, Laken's words poured into my mind and my heart and put them both through the ringer. And here I am, begging for more. Darkly addictive indeed.

I couldn't have asked for a better ending though! There was an aspect that I hadn't seen before that I appreciated more and more by the ending. And that was, instead of repeating parts from the last books throughout this book, before the first chapter, we get a solid recap. Which eliminated any repetitive filler that you would normally find this far into a series. It truly made it more enjoyable for me.

Now, what can I say about this final installment without spoilling anything? I should probably warn you first, that I spent most of the time reading this story walking around. The suspense drove me from the edge of my seat to onto my feet for majority of it. The emotions from the characters practically leaked from the book itself, so there was no way I wasn't feeling every single one of them. And the steam, oh the wonderful steaminess! Yep, scorching levels. There's also a surprise in there that gave me the chills when I read it! I can't say more, but I may have squealed when it came around...
And the very ending, well, it was perfect too. As a first finale for Laken, I couldn't have asked for more.
But, don't just take my word for it. Go read it for yourself! And if you haven't yet started this series, what are you waiting for?! Dive into this dark perfection now!

Buyer Beware!- and then buy it anyways 💔😢

It deserves 5 stars, for the talent of the storytelling, at the least. You will FEEL, as you read, and you will suffer with the characters and For them too. And what is entertainment worth if you don’t emote.

But you will not be happy. I was not happy, and AM not happy.

A Well-written, wonderfully told story of loss, struggle, heartbreak, death, and the power to overcome seemingly insurmountable defeat... but always at the point (and past the point!) of sacrifice. But I do wonder if that’s the author’s point- you can’t win without giving something up? Unfortunately it seems the point that came across to me was that even when you give everything up, you still won’t win. So you give everything again, and again, and then again. And sometimes you pull off a win for everyone else, but not for yourself, bc you’re not gonna get a HEA.

I’m glad the story is concluded, and the author deserves her 5star rating, and you should definitely read this series conclusion, but I’m disappointed, and heartbroken, and heart-sore. I could have accepted this wonderful book, as heartbreaking as it is, if it wasn’t the end. But as it’s the end, I feel cheated, dismayed, and disillusioned- and yes, some part of me wishes I had never read this book. I think I could have gone better in never knowing what happens next in the series than to have this be the end. However, this is how the end goes and the author deserves to tell the story she wants to.

So buyer beware, and then buy it anyways, and grab your tissues. Don’t look for HEA, or HFN even, but definitely hold on for the ride to The End.

If you are getting book bored, and are looking for a new series to wake you up, I encourage you to give this series a gander. So not vanilla, it's an escape to a terrifying yet sexy world.
Impeccable character building, strong writing, and even stronger characters.

I love getting to formulate the music playlist at the beginning of every book; the theme of this one was so obviously'darkness', I prepared my self for tears. Eager and anxious I was to begin this book.

Evolution into and out of the darkness, living with the darkness, thriving despite the darkness is our protagonist Trinity along with our favorite characters. Trinity isn't the girl that we met in book one, she's more of an entity; a savior to humans, a goddess to her men. And a serious bada** to those of us lucky enough to read her story.

There is a sense of urgency to this read; it is the last one after all.. It's never rushed, but it gets you "there" without unnecessary pretty words or preamble. All of the pretty words here are integral to the story.

The "I didn't see that coming" 😲😲 moments in these books are epic, and this one is no different. Shock, awe, and the desperate feeling of "why won't there be any more?!"lingers long after the read is complete.

If I could give this series more than 5 stars, I would!! I absolutely loved this series so much. I enjoyed her previous series Rune Alexander, and Silverlight was just as good if not better. Ms. Cane has a way of making memorable, take charge, snarky female leads that have you hooked on the series from the start. Don't get me started on the guys, all alpha, and all just perfect for the female lead. With just the right amount of drama, who/what are they, and well written plot lines has me always coming back. You will definitely be re-reading this series.

As always we have lots of twists and turn, always wondering what is going to happen next, and sex scenes that will leave you hot. The action as usual is spot on. Trinity is going through a change, and what a change it is. But she does it like always, head first and knocking anything out of her way. Not everything goes her way, she has to fight hard, but I feel like at the end she is once again the character that I love and root for.

Overall, this is a cant put down final read to an amazing series, that I will be going back through and reading again and again. I would suggest reading this series in order to understand everything better.

Sad to see Trinity go.....or is she....

Well, I was a little depressed reading this final installment of this series because it was the last one. However, one thing I have come to expect from this author is to expect the unexpected. You never know when Trinity and her fellas may make a reappearance in any of the other series by the author, Laken Cane.
To be honest there were times that I did not like Trinity in Lightbringer but considering some of the hell she's been through and changes that she had to undergo I guess I'd be a little hard to like, too. There were times that I was so happy because of the puzzle pieces falling into place, brief visits from people from another "world", and just the overall plot that I know I was smiling out loud. There were times when I was mad because I felt that Trinity was extremely selfish but in the end it all was perfect.
Bravo on another perfect ending!!

This book is about Trinity newly resurrected after her death defeating the rifters she must learn to live again as her new person. Unfortunately she doesn't have the time. Executioners are coming for Rhys and his dragons and there will be some innocent victims who get caught in the crosshairs. Can Trinity figure out who she is in time to protect the ones she loves?

This book was awesome! I loved seeing Trinity struggle to get back the girl that she was before she died. It was really weird to see her acting like a zombie as Amias' vampire. Shane broke my heart I felt so bad for him and that he was forced to become something he hated and hunted. And the other guys, Clayton, Rhys, Lea and Angus all have their own struggles. I really felt bad for Derry and the little kids and wanted to hurt someone. I enjoyed when Trinity finally made Leo hers and I was like "it's about time!" I do have to admit I found the ending kind of abrupt but I enjoyed the book nonetheless. A great series.

Wow. I loved the series, but not this book. I hated the character decisions. I ended up hating Trinity. I hated how Shane and their relationship changed. The romance from the first books vanished with Trinity’s likability. How she thought of Leo, her coldness, her apathy. Such a shame. The writing was still good, but I just wanted it to end. I felt like all my favorite characters were killed off. And they weren’t, but it felt like it. And the end left so many questions. Shane and her relationship? Rhys? I mean the scene with Crawford was fine, but felt oddly placed. The final scene would have been more satisfying if it were more of an HEA with all her men. Instead it kinda left on a depressing note. Kinda ruined the series for me. No idea even what the future holds for Trinity. It just ended. Sigh.

I am seriously torn about this series... I really wanted to like it and for the first 3 books I thought I would but the 4th book really ruined it for me. I hated the ending in so many ways.

1st - It's a medium burn reverse harem that feels soo slow. Not just with the plot but with the heat of it all.

2nd - Like I said the plot felt like it dragged on but I had to keep reading because I wanted to know what happened, so around books 3&4 I started to speed read and, once I got to book 4 I literally skipped the middle/end thrid and read the ending and was soo glad I did because I felt like this series wased my time.

Again I really really wanted to like this book and this series... It had soo much potential but it dragged, and the sex scenes were PG-13 and it just didn't cut it for me.

Gosh this author..she absolutely dragged me into this series and book four does not disappoint. This is an intense read and I felt so many emotions while reading it! I am sure a lot of people hate the ending but I liked that this story is different and I think this makes it so much more realistic...the world is not always sunshine and lollipops! I feel totally invested in Trinity and her guys and you can just feel her coming from every page. This book has action, suspense, sadness, love and heartbreak! It is truly amazing series by a very talented authors who really know how to draw in her reader! Highly recommended

Death and redemption

Damn, what a ride! There was a lot of darkness in this book, and drama and love. Trinity comes back as we knew she would but she’s not the same baby hunter. She’s not a hunter or even a human. Or even just a vampire. When the executioners arrive in town and demand the dragon, or everyone dies, she does what she does best. She gets pissed and kicks ass.

The ending was actually a little sad; more like bittersweet, but totally fitting for Trinity and her men. Because perfect happily ever afters don’t happen in Red Valley. But they are perfect for them. ❤️🧛‍♂️🕴🐂🐉🔥

Awww 🥰

I don’t know if i quite believe that this is the end of Silverlight.

I have enjoyed all the characters and their stories. It’s always hard to say goodbye to a good series.

I do have a couple of pet peeves for this one though not that it’s change my rating but has left me unfulfilled. Who is Owen? Why was that scene important? Not that I’ve read anything else from Laken I’m assuming Owen is from another series, idk 😐 and that ending I was hoping for a bigger battle and a thrown down was absolutely in order for Aspen, but to lose one of her men I felt like “hasn’t she sacrificed enough yet?” Oh well I absolutely love the adventure anyway!!

Sad to see it end

I'm really sad to see this series end. It's been such a ride with Trinity and her crew. I'm a bit chuffed about the end. Mostly because it didn't really feel like an end. If the author hadn't said this was the last book I'd been looking for the next in the series. Some things were wrapped up but more problems were created in the end that could totally bleed over into another book. But regardless of the weird ending, this was a series I fully enjoyed and will definitely reread in the future.

I absolutely loved the series except this book. And it’s supposed to be the end!!!! Why oh why oh why did it had to be done that way??? Shane and Trinity’s relationship was still unresolved. Plus Rhys? Like all of the beautiful love stories from the previous books went poof! And Leo!! He deserved more than that! And than scene with Crawford would have been fine but it should not have been the last scene of the book. Just ugh. I really liked the whole series and I hate it when this book ruined everything. 😭

Heartbroken

This was a tough book in a lot of ways. It has somewhat of an HEA but with more sadness than I like in a story conclusion. I really didn't like how the relationship with Rhys was portrayed at the end. It felt like Trinity lost too much for a true HEA. I enjoyed watching Trinity overcome certain characters and obstacles but it was all pretty emotional and I just felt down when it was all over. There is some really good writing with thus series but if you want a comfortable conclusion for your heroes, you may not get that with this series.

Lightbringer (Silverlight #4) left me weak in the knees, this culmination of the Silverlight series rises to Dramatic highs and depths as Trinity Sinclair claws herself to a new beginning with new challenges - but at her back is her own army of supernaturals. As she grows into her new self, the changes, both within her and around her, also grow. This book is hot reading with a fantastic arc and jaw dropping conclusion. Just freaking wow.

I was glad I came across this series as it is such a great read and a bit gutted it has ended, Trinity is a fantastic character especially as she is strong, you hate her at times, she is a killing machine and she has her guys. She has been through a lot since Bloodhunter and we have got to know her well and seen her go through a lot and this book tops it all for a final book I don't think there is a better way to finish her journey with the ending this one has.

Ok. What just happened? While there is the usual mayhem and action, the ending ruined it!
Every story needs that journey of overcoming the odds, major obstacles thrown in the way, discovering strength through pain, grief, love and loss. But, without putting in any spoilers, this "loss" didn't make sense. Was she just still a means to and end? There definitely was no HEA in my opinion. And it ends with an emphasis on someone not even in the inner circle? I didn't get it.

Why is it the end?

So much happened in this book,I don't even know where to begin...but I do know that the ending was heartbreaking. It wasn't a sad ending, kind of, but it was? I feel like this is the beginning of a new story. Except we won't get to read it, that's the part that makes me sad. Ugh, why why lol

Book 4 in this series was a huge disappointment for me, especially after book 3. I didn't like the way Trinity (heroine of this series) turned out. I didn't like her attitude or anything about her. I didn't like that she was part rifter. I just didn't like anything about her in this book. Book 4 was just one disappoint after another.
