What do you think?

Dewed
Nandita Bose, in her very first book of poetry, looks to nature - the seasons, the silences, floods, flowers- listening to its whispers and secrets. Her verse comes from the earth, from its deserts and thirst, from its sudden showers and shy blossoms. With utmost delicacy, she juxtaposes harsh man-woman realities against the gossamer fantasies of what could have been.

Emotions carved and weaved through sparse language, evoking far more than what at times prose can present. I had the good fortune of selecting this book from Atta Galatta counter at Bangalore Literary Festival last time and ended up listening to the writer and having a word with her.
Divided into seasonal sections such as Summer, Rains, Winter and Between Season, Dewed is a beautiful evocation of the metaphor between man and nature. Through her poetry, Bose portrays the man-woman relationships in its stark naked longings and complexities. Seasons become metaphors.
There are some beautiful pieces such as Nostalgia, 6 Minutes Past 7, My Breath Cold, and some untitled pieces in the 'Rains' and 'Between Seasons' section. But most of the poetry slips through the memory tank, leaving just a bare minimum longing for the words that you just read.
I will give this book a 3.5/5.
