옥상에서 만나요 is an anthology of short stories. It's absolutely electric and gripping. Each story has thematic elements of feminism in the context of Korea and its expectations for single and married women. Some of the stories have a fantastical flair and all of the stories have an absurdist type of humor that draws you in. Absolutely love it. Not to give a spoiler, but I'd highly recommend people read the author's note at the end of the book once they are finished. It includes an interesting snippet about one of the short stories that makes you test your assumptions!
On a more personal note, this is the first fiction book I've read in a while and the first "adult" Korean book I've read in my life. Could not chosen a better one to mark this occasion.
*Read the titular short story and translated into English for class. It was fun!! Also met the author via Zoom and she was cool and sweet :3 Looking forward to reading the rest of the stories in the collection as well as other works of hers.
