An excellent mystery with the great Callaway and the officers he hangs with! A man jumps from an overpass into traffic, causing delays and the investigating by Detectives Dana Fisher and Greg Holt. Long time partners this team has each others backs, so when Dana receives a phone call and must leave immediately Holt covers for her. PI Lee Callaway had a visitor last night, a man who left a twenty thousand dollar fee and asked Callaway to find a woman. As the CSI Team work the freeway scene, the man's name is announced- David Becker...
Several plots meld into one in this fast paced mystery, as Callaway realises the 'jumper' is his client, and drives himself to the scene to find out more. He has a friendship with several cops and is hardly liked by others, so no information comes easily. In the meantime Dana's brother has himself in quite a mess, so she is trying to assist him and keep her job at the same time.
The story flows easily with great characters and quick wit, while there are some horrible consequences to actions taken...This story will have you glued to the page, feeling every emotion as the characters are taken through their stories!!
I received an ARC from author Thomas Fincham, who I thank for a great night of reading, and I put my thoughts in this review so others may take a look at this excellent mystery.

Another great one!

Thoroughly enjoyed this latest CALLAWAY MYSTERY. Having read all the Echo Rose one, it was nice to remember her talents and efforts in solving crimes. It seems there might be hope for him in the Father category.

This is a good, fast-paced mystery, and I really enjoyed it. I liked the characters, the plots were well-constructed, and the writing engaging.

This is my first Lee Callaway Mystery, but I'm pretty sure that I'll be reading more.

Two stories in one.

Two Detectives, a Private Investigator. A suicide and a murder, all three searching for truth. One will regret what she finds. To many characters, found it hard to stay engaged in story. Skipped to end.

A detective takes an LOA to help her brother who’s a person of interest in a murder investigation. Her partner teams up with a private eye to solve a missing person case. Both story lines are well written and engaging. Great cast of of characters along with plenty of twists and turns makes this a real fun book to read.

This latest Lee Callaway Mystery book is an excellent read, and one with three mysteries in it - the death of the lawyer that Holt is investigating, the linked missing woman that Lee Callaway is investigating, and the situation with Fisher's brother. It's very addictive reading, keeping me hooked from start to finish- I only stopped long enough to have Christmas dinner, and that's because I was at my parents' house and it would've been rude not to! So be prepared to get drawn in and be reading for a while, though with a book this excellent, that's no hardship. Highly recommended, and I can't wait for the next one!
NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions

With twists and turns, two different mysteries in one. I didn’t see the ending coming. You won’t want to put the book down.

The writing...

The writing feels sophomoric at times, but it gets the job done in a manner and way to tell the story at hand. PIs, cops, secretaries, and various nefarious people who take advantage of their place in society are embroiled together in decently laid out plots of crime. If you want a fast read, much like the old True Crime articles, this is for you.

I get the feeling that there is hidden talent, but perhaps the author is riddled with hyperactivity to sit still through the contemplative activities of a rigorous writing class. Too bad, because plot direction is his forte, but character development could use a boost. I would become a much more avid reader if I could feel some empathy and connection with his characters.

No worries, though. I’m a glutton for punishment. I’ll try again. I do want to find out more about Fisher, the female detective. Just saying...

A great mystery. The Lee Callaway series gets interesting as they progress from one book to another, even though I found book 2 abit boring.

I love the development of Lee and the way he puts his skills to use for the benefit of his clients. His work ethic is top notch as he is ready to see each job to its final conclusion. In this book, even though David who hired him committed suicide, Callaway decided to continue with the investigation.

Detective Dana's baby brother finds himself under investigation for the death of one of his female student whom he was seen with the evening before her death. His past was eating into his new found passion and career in teaching.

All in all, the book was interesting

Amazing

I chose is rating because I read the dead daughter and I was very interested and I realized that people can be so cruel they can't seem to think. In this book the detective in Lockport killed a young girl because of love. In the dead daughter her uncle killed her because she was pregnant with his baby and she wanted to get married and it was illegal. So keep me posted Mr.Fincham and I'm writing my own book . I love lee Callaway he does and goes but is the star.
And I have a question but what was your purpose for writing this book and all the others.
Murder mystery is a mystery to solve in your mind I hate the part where he never found out who told him to commit suicide. Thats the bad part. Why?

The missing Mistress.

One more from the Calaway mystery series,
A man jumps from the overpass into the traffic.
Dana Fisher and Greg Holt are the investigating officers at the scene.
Dana Fisher suddenly has to fly off to help her brother Kaycee who is in the midst of a murder investigation of his student Miranda.

Reading 2 parallel murder mysteries sounds perplexed but the narration makes it work. You can easily keep track of both stories.

Not a breath-holding detective series, but a pleasant read.
It's available as a free audiobook on youtube, the narration is pretty good 👍.

Fast-moving and a fascinating read.... ⭐⭐⭐⭐

More mysteries

David Becker jumped from a freeway overpass to his death . Det. Fisher and Holt caught the case. Lee Calloway was visited by Mr. Becker the night before , given a large sum of money to find Lana Anderson . Det. Fisher received a call from her younger brother Casey that he was in trouble so she raced off to help him . I would like to know what state they are in. I think it is in the midwest.

I so enjoyed this quick read . Callaway is a PI that you relate too. I enjoyed all the characters as you can understand each of them. Their is mystery , love, respect and suspense . keeps you turning the pages.
I like how family plays into all the stories. Reminder s of what each character plays is a visual of what life is about and how the officers relate to crime and honesty in finding answers to closure in death. It’s not scary .

Suicide?

Detective Holt looks into a suspicious suicide while his partner flies off to help her brother who has gotten himself involved in the midst of a murder investigation. PI Callaway crosses path with Holt when his missing persons case links into the suicide.

Nice entertaining read.

A little different

Book number 5 took a little detour in structure this time. My favorite P.I. and his off the book partner went there separate ways, solving separate crimes this time. In fact other factors have taken a huge left turn. Callaway being a responsible guy! Still an enjoyable and fascinating read. Looking forward to the next crime solving puzzle.

Two mysteries that do not collide.

One personal mystery causing heartbreak; one complex mystery to shake your head over.
Reading two parallel investigations sounds complex, but the dual stories work because of the investment in characters.
The story conclusion totally surprised me.

This was the latest in the Dana Fisher\ Lee Callaway series and it was awesome. The author understands how to write two separate storylines and to be able to do justice to both stories. The storyline started out as a single , but then branched out with just The Fisher story. The original plot had a dynamic opening and a very satisfying ending, the Fisher ending was awesome and very riveting .

SO GOOD!!

The more books I read in the series the better they get. I started this book at 5am and finished at 11:50pm. I loved every second of the book. I want it to be more than eight books in the series. Lee Callaway is the best!! If you're looking for a great series to read start from the beginning of the series you won't be disappointed.

Good ending but repetitive

The story finished strong but I got real tired of characters repeating information we already knew!
Also, this is book five and I'd appreciate the author not giving us the backstory of every main character every book! Maybe its because I'm reading these back to back but it feels like filler.

What a great book!
First you get several stories in one book. They are crafted in such a way that you don't lose track of what is going on in any of them.
Then there are the ending(s)... thank you Mr. Fincham for another wonderful read!

I wish Amazon would allow me to block certain writers. This would be first in my list! There are others but we won't go into that. This writer leaves me empty and disappointed. He would be a good young children 's writer.

This was my favorite Lee Callaway Book

Let’s say you will be surprised by the ending. I am surprised and did not expect it. I wonder how the author could possibly think or dream the plot. This was my favorite so far.
