There were lots of times Hewitt made insightful comments that helped me as I led a bible study series in Hebrews. But this commentary has been surpassed by many other commentaries now (as you'd expect of most commentaries written several generations ago) and I would not recommend it to others for that reason. Most of the scholars Hewitt engages with throughout have also been supplanted, as have some of the debates he is concerned with. Stylistically the book is quite dated too. Nevertheless it retains some value, and if this is all you have, you will be well served in being shown how Jesus is superior in all things. For most people I imagine you will want to look at other resources first.
