Sarah said... 'What a great find! I had been looking for a how-to that struck a chord with me for some time. What better role model for a young woman looking to make it in the business world than Belinda, a strong, empowered career woman headed straight to the top of the pots and pans industry. Belinda Blinked 1 is his first novel of the series and Rocky published his second, Belinda Blinked 2 in summer 2016. October 2016 saw the publication of the collaborative effort My Dad Wrote a Porno book between some London media dudes and Rocky based on the words and podcast of Belinda Blinked 1! With rave reviews it's worth a read and is now published worldwide...
The Belinda Blinked Books 1,;2; 3; 4; 5; and 6 have been picked up by the above mentioned London media types and are being distributed as a podcast called My Dad Wrote a Porno with over 330 million... yes 330,000,000 worldwide downloads which has made it an unprecedented success! Undaunted the London Media Dudes took a lost chapter from the Belinda Blinked series on worldwide tour. USA, UK, Europe and Australia were venues. They sold out all the iconic venues such as the Sydney Opera House, New York Town Hall, The Royal Albert Hall London and The Orpheum Los Angeles. It was so good HBO have commissioned a 60 minute TV special. So if you missed the live tour why not join them for sixty minutes of sidesplitting mirth in 2019. See the podcast and book characters come to life on the stage and learn things about the human body Rocky never thought you knew..... Another world tour in 2022 is now on sale and has a similar format but with new even more dodgy material....

I don't usually review books before I've reached the ending, but this is an exhilarating tour-de-force, possibly the best in the series yet. Not sure if it's the character of James Spooner who reinvigorates the narrative, or the broader thriller conceit which casts the characters we know and love in an unexpected light. But the leather walls and secret corridors of Steele's have never seemed to menacing.
Another fabulous audiobook. Rocky never fails to amaze me with the loose plot random characters and use of adjectives. The final book that had not been shaped by the podcast. Bring on book 5
I have only listened to the "My Dad Wrote a Porno" Podcast, but each season is hilarious. This one ends with a twist and a bang Can't wait for season 5.
Please ignore this review. I devoted entirely too much of my time listening to the absurd podcast “My Dad Wrote a Porno” in which this...piece...is featured. The only consolation prize from the time I spent listening to Belinda Blinked 1-4 is meeting my Goodreads reading challenge quota. 😭😭
The best bit of filth in 2018. Rocky Flintstone demonstrates his true literary genius once again with a book sure to go down in history as one of the truly peerless masterpieces of English letters.
What on earth is happening? Am I actually considering giving a book written by Rocky Flintstone more than 1 star out of 5?! For the first time ever in a Belinda Blinked book, there was an actual discernible plot! Danger! Intrigue! Rip-off spies! Each week of the magnificent My Dad Wrote A Porno podcast was an absolute delight, and I laughed like a drain during all of Belinda and Helga's top secret meetings. The spy gadgets! The random branches into spy thriller and science-fiction! Madame Sweetjuice!
Alas, I cannot do it. The writing is still oh so terrible, and the plot -- although present for once -- is just non-nonsensical. The sex remains utterly revolting; indeed it seems to get worse and worse with each book. Belinda Blinked is the opposite of erotica; it turns off instead of on; it's the epitome of anti-porn. Raw salmon? Please stop.
Where did Maeve go at the end of Chapter 12?!
Can't wait for the next one and Season 5 of the podcast. Bring it on.
Three of the worst(best) books ever written have all brought us to the climactic tome where... there is actually a plot? And an exciting one at that??
Filled with action and mystery, part 4 of the epic romance (now turned spy novel), Belinda Blinked #4 is probably the best book of the series(!). Even though Rocky is struggling more than ever to keep the SHAVUM as ridiculous as ever, and still has yet to develop any of the characters, the Special one mistery makes the reader to actually care about what is going to happen, in a ridiculous way, in the next chapter. Pour in the traditional raunchy, ridiculous, weird and still sex-positive women empowering intercourse scenes and you have a winner.
Omg, I actually wrote my opinion on this. Anyways, go listen to it and piss yourself with laughter on your morning commute. Cheers, here's to Book 5, hopefully we'll see more of TOFFEE APPLE CHEW.
Although the podcast is definitely some 5-star worthy entertainment, this book by itself is not. The play (judging by the fact that there seem to be stage directions from the way it's written) is the furthest thing from Aristotelian: the characters move all over the place, time is skipped at very inappropriate moments, and it's filled to the brim with unnecessary new characters, who do at least add something of a humorous effect with their ridiculous names. There does seem to be some forethought put into the work if the choice of The Special One isn't a fluke, which does add an interesting mystery element, but all complexity of the story is lost when the uncomfortably weird and alien sex is crammed into genuine, emotional moments.
The Belinda Blinked series has been revitalized with the edition of the "secret one" and spy theme that goes on throughout book 4. I find the series hilarious, I've been listening to My Dad Wrote a Porno as my audiobook. Book 3 really had me lost in terms of plot and if I had been reading by myself I probably would have DNF. I'm glad I stuck around for the finale of book 3 as it really pulled me back in and I am glad to report that a story line is back in book 4. Another plus, the sex scenes are constantly surprising you and they are never overplayed/repeated which I really appreciate in a sex book.
With Volume IV, Mr. Flintstone has deftly woven a tightly plotted espionage thriller into an already lusciously erotic, post-modern, feminist, pansexual romp of a series. The answer to one great mystery has been revealed, just as another mystery presents itself.
I, for one, cannot wait until the release of Volume V, which, because of the East Berlin setting which is becoming more and more vital to the plot, I can only assume will carry the subtitle:
I actually listened to the podcast, but I guess that counts, too...
I loved book 4!! It was amazing, not only because Belindas story continued, but also because there was an actual plot and it was so much fun to follow the search for the Special One! I'm really sad this season's over (I have to admit that I always listened to it during my long walks with my baby son) and I just can't wait for book 5!!
Belinda is at it again. Even more sex starved as in the other books. The Author has created new vocabulary which make this book more funny than ever, for example "EYEDUCKS".
It's difficult to call this porn due to the hilarity of the situations the characters get in and how in just about every chapter an opportunity to have sex or get naked happens. Let's be honest, a porno movie is more erotic than this.
On to book 5.
(I also hear that there are 8 books so far in this series)
