What in the "I'm a dinosaur roach" did I just read because Damian kept coming back like a ninja roach from the hood! Damian was not in the least little bit kidding when he said til death do them part! This author has a helluva imagination to have thought of all of those scenarios Damian went through to keep Persia. Even Persia could not fathom the depths of that man's obsession for her. This is my first read by Octavia Grant but it won't be the last.
Aye, aye. Y'all check on your fictional book character friends. They are NOT OK! Dawg, Persia done loved the craziest, selfish-est, bipolar-est ninja to ever grace a book page! How does one go on knowing they gave their all to the person that has taken everything from them? I'm so ready to stick my foot up Damien's a$$ I don't know what to do! I feel like Whitley's momma when Dwayne Wayne crashed the wedding: "JUST DIE!!!!!" Whew Chile, let me go decompress. Ok bye.
I really enjoyed this read. When it started I wasn't sure what I was in for. The pace picked up quickly. It was a story of young love that started when they were very young. Persia and Damien had all the material things in the world and they loved each other. The only problem is that Damien was not satisfied with having sex with only his wife. His infidelity starts this wild ride. Hold on and take the trip. You will laugh and your mouth will open wide at some parts. Once I started reading I didn't want to put it down. EyeCU Approved
I’ll Never Let You Go by Octavia Grant is a rollercoaster tale that is full of suspense, betrayal, drama and tantalizing sex that left my mouth open and questioning the mental status of the author. 😂Grant did a great job with the main character for he was a special kind of crazy. Characters like Damian and Monique are the exact reason why when people show you who they truly are that you should leave them right where they are. I’m pretty sure there will be a part 2 to this insanity and I’ll be there for it!
I can honestly say I was full of emotion from beginning to end. PISSED OFF! Damien was the epitome of scum. A perfect example of not appreciating what you had and not wanting to let go.
Love can be easily be deceptive when it shouldn’t be. This author weaved a tale of young love that turned into a lifelong of manipulation. I look forward to reading more work from this author.
Damian wasn’t playing when he said he’d never let her go. He got too greedy and comfortable and forgot that Penny was the best thing that ever happened to him. It’s a shame that he didn’t appreciate her until he lost her for good.
Damien really surprised me. I didn't expect him to be this way at all. I feel so bad for Persia. I hope karma finally gets him in book two. New author fave.
So he kills all these people n never get caught? He liter stabbed that man popped the trunk n showed her her ex friend then kidnapped that lady n nobody saw??? Like how is he steady get away with this? P so dumb she don’t check the paperwork for all these years??? Ya daughter ain’t tell NOBODY she was kicking with her daddy?? This story is unrealistic to me. I just can’t.
I have mixed emotions about this story. Crazy is the best way to describe the main male character. Too easy is the best way to describe the female characters behavior... Not sure about the ending.
No matter how long you may know someone. There will always be something about them you won't know. This saying became a reality when Persia got tired of being neglected by her husband Damien and found out what he was up too. Persia also found out many more shocking secret's concerning Damien. After finding out about the betrayal of those who were closest to her. Persia was devastated and decided to move on but it came at a price. She had no idea of the monster that was lurking inside of Damien. Damien trifling on so many levels. He was losing his mind when he got caught up. He had to learn no matter how long you've been with someone. Once that bond is broken. It's over with but with him it brought out a dangerous obsession. Monique allowed her jealousy, envy, insecurities, and money hungry ways to cloud her judgment to the point she stabbed the only person who had her back in the back. She had no remorse once the truth came out. Monique thought she had it all figured out until it backfired on her and she saw Damien dark side. I wasn't surprised by what happened to her.
“When your enemy thinks you’re weak, that’s when you’re at your strongest point. Play with their mind by acting the way they expect a weak person to act: weak and submissive.”
LET ME JUST START BY SAYING, WOW!!!
Damien Jordan is by far THE WORST of THE WORST” villains that I’ve EVER READ! Never have I ever read a book that’s made me want to cuss so much! On so many occasions, I was literally left with my mouth wide open in shock! And I’m still in shock as I write this review 😱 When I tell y’all that Damien is a whole FUNKY A$$ HOTMESS, that’s putting it lightly. Poor Persia was for real sleeping with THE ENEMY!!!
Packed full of action, twisted chills and unpredictable thrills…This well written storyline reads like watching an intense thriller that keeps you riding the edge of your seat. THIS READ IS NOT FOR THE FAINT AT HEART but with a little fine tuning on the editing “I’ll Never Let You Go” is most definitely A 5 STAR MUST READ. I HIGHLY suggest you 1-Click and see what all of my hype is about!!!
This is my third book by Ms. Grant and at this point I’mma STAN!!!! I’m absolutely loving these urban fiction thrillers! She can create a story with so many unpredictable twists it’s addictive. She’s great at developing characters so whether you love or hate them, you really get to know the characters. Oh and her skill to create an attention grabbing suspenseful plot is equally matched with her ability to create spice. And she doesn’t shy away from violence, so if you do this isn’t for you. But to my urban fiction and psyche thriller lovers, THIS IS A MUST READ!!
Damien was definitely a nut case and why didn't anyone figure that out before he went to such extremes? I was disappointed in Persia; for not having security, for leaving the job half finished, HECK, for staying with him after all he had done in the beginning of their relationship. The ending was like something that happens in the movies, but sorry, not buying it. After all Damien had done, all the lives lost, all the unveiled secrets, there should have been closure on those cases. And Damien would be serving a life sentence. I took off one star for that.
For once, can't you let the "good guys" have their happily ever after???? This book was excellent from the beginning to the end. I hated Ramsey dying with a passion. I so wanted he and Persia to live a good life that I could see it, but as always Octavia throws a mean, completely plausible curve ball that shifts the entire direction and mood of the story. I rate this book all five stars as it had everything.... love, lust, jealousy, hate, danger, fear and best of all murder!!! Well done.
I gave this book a standard 5 stars. It was well written, it wasn't rushed, every character's personality was evident in the text. The author really took her time developing the back story so that everything was pulled tightly together. The reality of unfaithful spouses and the negative effects it has on the mind was clear as day. I laughed, I cried, I even envied the love that Persia found after being betrayed, wishing I carried the same strengths. I hope it's a part 2 coming and soon.
This book was really good! It definitely held my attention so much that it was genuinely difficult to put it down! This makes the 4th or 5th book I’ve read by Octavia Grant now and she has quickly become one of my favorite new authors. New to me, I mean. My only complaint was that the ending seemed pretty unrealistic to me and way more information and explanation was needed to make it make sense. Still a great read though and I’d definitely recommend it. I’m looking forward to reading more of Octavia’s work.
This was so good from beginning to end. Omg Damien is a lunatic . He couldn’t handle Persia leaving him for what he did with her suppose to be best friend . Monique had a bad death but it was her karma . Poor Ramsey why ! Persia should’ve stuck them scissors a little deeper . And the ending chileeee I’m ready for part 2
This book right here was off the chain with Damian’s crazy ass!!! I definitely think it needs a second part it can’t just stop there . I hope Ramsy ass come back from the dead like Damian did this book had so many twists and turns I definitely recommend it
The author did a great job of having one of the M.C.’s withhold key information. This was packed with twists and turns, and just when I thought a character was destined for a happy ending, smh. The ending was totally unexpected and creative, but, there’s no part 2 so it seems rather undone. Yet, it’s still worth the read.
This book took me through so many different emotions. Had me in me bed talking to the wall. I’m literally speechless. MMC Damien really was insane & he was the one that caused all the havoc smh. Persia is a strong women. The way this ended I can’t see how there is no second part. Never been a fan of urban thriller but Octavia somehow pulls me through everytime.
4/5 ⭐️ Damien is completely unhinged and he needs his a$$ beat!!! I mean what a complete psychopath! Hopefully there’s a part two to this book because I need an update on this guy!!! This was almost a five star read for me but there were some glaring grammar errors that were very distracting. Other than that, a great read.
Damien and Persia, what a wild ride this was. My heart goes out to Persia, she never did anything to deserve this. I wanted to push Damien down some stairs, jealous, lying cheating narcissist, oh I can't stand him, he is definitely the worst. He doesn't deserve Persia he never did. Oh my goodness the plot twist at the end, no no no.
I never know what to expect with Octavia's books, but this probably in the top 3 most unhinged.
Three stars because I felt like this was unnecessarily problematic in regard to lgbtq+ community. Also the story was a bit all over the place. I see the vision of how OG wanted to end the story but it didn't make much sense.
This book had me all over the place with emotions I was happy sad I cried was angry. Dirty boy need to disappear already. Just when you thought it was gonna to be happy nope a suprise came. I'm just needing another book from this..
This was a good read, once I started I didn't want to put it down. The author gave us love, lust and deceit. The twist and turns will have you wanting to throw your book across the room. If you're looking for a good quick read, this is definitely the book for you.
Suspenseful, thrilling and an emotional ROLLERCOASTER! Loved this book but I am truly experiencing separation anxiety! Please do a sequel! Today I've read six of Ms Grant's works. She has become one of my highly favored author's. Keep up the great work!
Damien is EVIL personified. Persia was/is so giving and loving and loyal, and fell for the wrong person. He was definitely raised on survival and not love. The ending shocked the hell out of me!! I wonder where this story where end up.....part 2 perhaps?
This was a book on the dismiss of taking advantage of the Love of someone and gaining profit on it them. Then want to make life miserable for your gain; then turn around to take and possess their happiness
