Repo Girl #2

A Repo Girl Christmas

Rate this book
She never imagined her part-time job would be so dangerous!

Life was going well for twenty-five-year-old Repo Agent Andrea Sloan. She hadn’t stumbled across any more naked dead guys at work, and her love life was pretty much wonderful. Her biggest problems were keeping warm in a car with a heater that’s on the fritz and figuring out what to get her boyfriend for Christmas.

When she picked up a part-time job working at the mall for some extra cash as an elf, she never imagined she’d witness Santa gunned down in the parking lot. Just like that, Andi became tangled with friends and foes from her past in a race to find Santa’s stolen bag of cash before Christmas. Her life depended on it.

Jane Fenton is an avid reader of books that combine romance, mystery, and laughter because they’re as satisfying as a triple fudge sundae—without the calories. Although she shares her heroine’s love of Roanoke City, good friends, junk food, stray dogs, and Jeep Wranglers, she’s quite happy to create these fun misadventures from the comfort of her quiet farmhouse in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia where she lives with her family.

A Repo Girl Christmas
By Jane Fenton
This is book #2 of the series. This is just about as crazy as the first book, but maybe a touch more romance. The crazy situations and humorous episodes are just as good. Another fun book.

So, Andi and the gang are all back for this silly and heart-warming holiday story. It's been seven months now since Andi and BF, Cooper, have been dating and Andi is wigging out about what to get Cooper, rich guy who has it all, for Christmas as well as spending Christmas with Cooper’s rich, snooty, judgmental family. She escaped having to spend Thanksgiving with the excuse of having to work; she feels that she can’t use that again for Christmas. Personally, I wouldn’t hesitate a second from using it again, just to make it absolutely clear to those snobs that they are not people I want to spend Christmas with. But that’s just me.

Anyway, the book summary lays out the storylines for the whole book. What the book summary doesn’t say is that in the process of repossessing a car, she finds out that the skip lost his job (the company went out of business), and she also sees him with his young son and pregnant wife along with an eviction notice on their apartment door. Yeah, ok this skip is in dire straits. Not only did Andi not have the heart to repo the car, but she donated the commission from her last repo to the skips bank loan for the car, in an effort to give the skip a little more time to catch up. Love Andi!!! None of this is a spoiler since it happened pretty much in the beginning of the story. T

The rest of the story revolves around who shot Santa, which has Andi working for the “The Broker” (from the last installment) again, much to her displeasure, but then there’s no saying no to The Broker. The Broker has tasked Andi with finding his missing cash that the dead Santa owed him. This has Andi interfering in another one of Det Kendricks investigations – again! Lots of Repo Girl/Andi Sloan hijinks and mayhem ensues ending in another amusing and entertaining installment by Fenton.

This installment saw some further development in Andi and Cooper’s relationship along with some additional development on some of the supporting characters, which was good. At 212pg, this short story was a very quick read. The storylines were enjoyable, especially Andi’s Christmas. The writing was entertaining and Fenton has a good sense of humor. I’m looking at an overall rating of 3.9 that I will be rounding up to a 4star rating.

Repo Girl is a great series. Love the mystery and the love story. Fun characters with a bit of crazy without going majorly overboard. I just hope this doesn't already conclude the series. Would love to read more....

3 Stars for A Repo Girl Christmas: Repo Girl, Book 2 (audiobook) by Jane Fenton read by Hayden Bishop.

I’m trying to get past the idea that car repos aren’t done the way the character does them, but I just can’t.

I really like this series. My only issue with it is that the author tells different points of view from different characters within a chapter, without giving us a real distinction of who's talking. You kinda get pulled out of the storytelling just to figure out who's talking.

Now I listened to the audio version of it, and it may be just because the narrator wasn't overly great at differentiating the voices. But that's my critique of the book.

Really funny though. She can really write great funny lines.

A favorite!

The Repo Girl series has quickly become a favorite! Andi can’t help finding trouble. Thankfully she’s got Cooper along for the ride! Can’t wait for more adventures.

Pure fun

A fun series with a wonderful leading character. It has the possible consequences of an I Love Lucy show! Definitely worthwhile.

Once again, Jane Fenton has delivered a fast-paced, heartwarming installment in the Repo Girl series that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. In “A Repo Girl Christmas,” Andi has her hands full juggling holiday chaos, repo adventures, and the growing complexities of her personal life—and I loved every minute of it.

One of the things I’ve come to cherish about these books is the found family that surrounds Andi. The camaraderie and loyalty of her friends shine brighter than ever here. Whether it’s the snappy banter, the inside jokes, or the way they drop everything to have her back, you feel their bond in every scene. Fenton has a real talent for writing supporting characters you can’t help but root for.

And while the suspense kept me turning the pages—complete with twists that had my heart racing—it’s the evolution of Andi and Cooper’s relationship that made this story extra special. Their connection feels deeper and more genuine this time around. There’s a tenderness between them that balances all the danger and chaos, and it was so satisfying to see their trust and affection grow stronger.

If you enjoy stories that blend action, humor, and romance with a big dose of holiday spirit, A Repo Girl Christmas is a perfect seasonal read. It’s a feel-good, edge-of-your-seat adventure that still manages to tug at your heartstrings.

Absolutely loved it. Andi is one of the nicest heroines going. She is sweet, considerate, kind to a fault, compassionate, rather like someone you would like to meet, but rarely do. Giving of yourself and resources when you can least afford it takes a very special kind of person and Andi is that kind of person.
Loved the interaction of Detective "Thor". He sounds so hot he is almost on fire. Looking forward to seeing how that plays out. Also, trying to figure out how she gets rid of the Broker who seems to think that he has her on the end of his fishing line and can reel her in any time he feels he needs her, which very well may be true.
All in all, I await the next book in this series.
Now, having said that, I must unfortunately point out the errors appearing in the book, such as:
"rescued him from and abusive" - "crossed his arms and titled his head" - "had the audacity to steel". There were a few others, but I am not going to elaborate on all. These are great stories that are being written, but Ms. Fenton should look to having someone proofread them so her standing as a fine author is not tarnished.

I wanted to like this more than I did. Andi is an unusual protagonist for one of these cozy-style mysteries in that she’s neither a waitress nor a caterer, and her occupation does play a significant role in the plot of the story. However, everyone in the story is so nice that they feel sticky, even the murderer, who frankly shows up out of nowhere, as if the author suddenly remembered that the crime needed to be solved. This was really a cheesy romance with a side of murder, rather than a mystery with a romantic side story.

Side note annoyances: in shotgun-style dive bars, the physical bar always runs down the left side of the room, not the right, as the author describes (I’ve spent enough time in them to know...) Also, the reader of the audiobook pronounces chaste as chast. Twice. It’s the little things.

Cooper & Andrea have been dating for seven months and fourteen days and are going strong. Christmas is around the corner and Andi has taken a part time job at the mall as an elf helper to santa. Still doing repo work and feeling guilty since it's the holidays, she and Cooper organize some operation santa projects with their friends. Trying to find the prefect gift for Cooper is weighing on Andi & she shops between elf breaks only to have santa shot and killed in front of her. Embroiled right in the middle of the investigation, much to Det. Kendricks dismay, Andi goes undercover on her own putting her and Cooper in more danger than either can handle. Missing money, gambling, murder, & a visit from The Broker might be the most dangerous Christmas ever.

This Christmas special repo girl style is a delightful tale of Christmas cheer, fun and mayhem as we are already used to from the first book.

This time, Andy and Cooper have their own challenges to face while caring for neighbours, strangers and finding out about all the different ways in which you can possibly string Christmas lights.

A beautiful, fun and heartwarming tale that's perfect for the season but can be enjoyed any time of the year. And in dying to find out how it continued with Thor.

Again, the narrator shone by her unique and quirky style of bringing characters and story to life. A feast for the ears, as well as the heart.

I'd love this story and it character while their relationship seems very plasticy at start of the book, there realness of Andi and Cooper's relationship start to show. I'd love to see more of the contrast between Andi's world and Coopers sorta richie rich world. My only two grips is that amount of Andi bit the bottom of her lip while it is an expression it isn't the only one a person has. Lastly one part at the end of the book came off very cliche while i saw that character's feelings that scene felt very cliche of a hallmark movie

December (Christmas is looming) and Andi with not quite enough money, has no ideas for Cooper's Christmas present. She of course takes as many repos as possible, but also decides to take a second job. She becomes the first 6 foot Elf in the mall's Christmas court. As usual, trouble follows Andi and the rest is pure excitement and fun. Good new characters mingle with familiar ones to make it seem like the adventures had never stopped. Especially nice Christmas twist due to her repo job that does not include a naked dead man! (Read the first book for those details.) Fun book and series!

This was the cutest book EVER, albeit somewhat dark in spots, it was laugh out loud in others. I suggest reading the first book to familiarize yourself with the extremely quirky characters, but you don't really HAVE to, It was listed free on FreeBooksy this week, however. I sincerely appreciated this book, given as a holiday gift - that shows the author actually cares about her readers - its ok it was a few days after the holiday. let's hope we all have a great 2019!

I loved the first book so much and I was thrilled to read the sequel. The characters are just as brilliant as ever, and the return of much-beloved characters from the first book (no spoilers here) made it all the more fun. Once again, this follow up to Repo Girl is full of such fun misadventures, action-packed thrills, and brilliant plot twists that are just as shocking as we've come to expect from Jane Fenton.

Fun read

I really enjoyed Andi’ second story. It does remind me of early Stephanie Plum, which is awesome. Andi has enough realistic flaws that she isn’t annoyingly perfect. It is occasionally a bit jarring jumping perspective in the story but I adjusted to that quickly. This was a fun lighthearted read, perfect for a cold Saturday where I didn’t want to go outside. Looking forward to book 3!

Going to be hard to wait til the next one...

Absolutely amazing. The storyline was captivating and smooth. The characters felt like family. I have to say that I can't wait for the next book in the series and it has definitely encouraged me to see what else has been written by Ms. Fenton.

Elf Costume

Andi is smart, strong and stubborn. Everyone should know when to accept help. Like most people, Andi is a slow learner. A second job to pay for car expenses and Christmas gifts lands Andi in a heap of trouble. Her past that she thought was behind her makes an unwanted reappearance in her life. On the plus side she got to be in a float.

Repo AND an elf at the same time??? Who killed Santa Claus? Who killed Santa Claus? Right down… Oh, well, you get the idea, don’t you??? Andi attracts trouble like bees to honey – or guys to Andi – even back door friends 😊 Everybody had a Repo Girl Christmas I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend the book.

Man what a ride

This book is a wonderful easy read. It has comedy, romance, and drama all rolled into one. I also like the fact that there is very little bad language in it. This is a book that I would recommend for my mother and grandmother to read if they were still alive. Wish they were so I could share it with them

Fun romp

These books are just so fun to read. I liked the first one well enough, I really like this one. Getting to see a little more of the side characters. If you don't try to compare the author with another who writes the same genre, you can sit back and enjoy the mayhem so much more.

Another fun adventure for Andi and Connor who just cannot stay out of trouble. Christmas miracles all around. Andi is slowly letting Connor in as they navigate their relationship? If only the murders would stop happening around her. Between jealous ex girlfriends, crushed, the golden girls, and gangsters breathing down her neck, Andi might survive to make more memories with Connor.

A Repo Girl Christmas

This is actually a great continuation of the first book in the series. I loved the developing romance between Andi and Cooper and how it was in the background of the story, but did not take away from the main plot.

I have read this book and the previous book. Enjoyed both. But did like the first book better. Getting to know all the characters in the first book. In the second book I enjoyed all the new characters that are introduced. Both story lines were great. But for me could have done less.of her love life. I will definitely read the next book.
