Read the end books first.

I read these in a 6 book set. Timetable wise, the last books should be first. James Hunt is a phenomenal storyteller! Grant and Mocks are likable characters, well developed, with lots of action and emotions as the stories unfold. A family is put into WITSEC and then kidnapped by Russians because the dad knows where the money is. You have the Seattle police department, the FBI and US Marshall’s all working to find the family and stop the bad guys. In the first books (chronologically after the last books) Mocks, Rick and Chase have settled into family like life and Grant and Sam have moved in together and are contemplating married life, but illusions of a normal life are short lived as Grant is dragged back into detective work for an old case dealing with Dennis Pullman and his abduction and murder of women. I’m looking forward to more books with these characters. I’m sure Grant, Sam and Mocks will always have bad guys that need to be brought to justice.

6 Stories Wow

I on!y have one complaint, I would have appreciated a heads up to read the last 3 stories first. However, all 6 are well done. Loved the characters and story lines, the action and the relationships. I read all 6 in 2 days, so it's easy to say they are hard to put down.
I fully intend to look up more written by this author and expect similar quality. I recommend this 6 story edition.

This is a great read! I loved that it had all the twists and you had to stay connected to follow it. One problem though is that with this kindle addition the first trilogy should come after the second! I don't know why it is backwards. So, if you want to read it, look for "The Silent Ones" first and read that before "Missing Person".

Chase Grant's 1st 3 tales involve psychopath and serial murderer Dennis Pullman. A man whose mind is as twisted as it is clever.

The 3 books in this set deal with the havoc caused when Pullman draws Grant back into his world of death and destruction of family.

Chase Grant proves to be a complex character who is dedicated to justice, single minded when he has a crime to solve, smart and canny enough to not only understand but predict fairly accurately what a criminals actions may be next and most of all not give up until the job is done.

The stories are fascinating, at time horrifically detailed and filled with emotional ups and downs for the reader as they cheer or jeer Grant's character on to the finish line.

Chase Grant's 2nd set are actually placed in the time frame before the first books, which tells me that there is still a lot the reader has to learn about his past as well as it's impact on his future.

Like the first three these books are dealing with the workings of a very agile, clever and twisted mind.

Unlike those stories however this set takes the route of targeting those closer to Grant, first his neighbors then his closest friend.

The details are graphic, the criminals are brutal and the character of Chase Grant is once again pushed beyond his limits before he prevails decisively against his multiple foes.

I thought there could have been a few minor corrections in the books setup/editing but these glitches did not detract from the author's finished works for me.

Thrilling books!

No longer a detective, Chase Grant takes on cold case files. However, he keeps finding himself involved in murder cases as a consultant or he is just in the middle of the action. He will stop at nothing to do what he feels is right. Full of action and intrigue and hard to put down once I started reading!

Detective Grant

This box set contains a great story. From the very first sentence of the first book to the last punctuation pig the last book, every word and expression seems to have been carefully chosen. Great characters with a great plot and a smooth storyline, this set is a have. Great job

I loved reading this, the language is down to earth and how people speak and think. The topic draws you in to it and you want to continue to read so you can find out what happens next! Wonderful mystery writing. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Great series! The author does an awesome job of making the characters relatable and lovable. Read books 4-6 before 1-3 as they’re a prequel series. Lots of action with a love story mixed in. Perfect.

Intriguing plot but terrible language

This had a great plot and lots of potential but the language was so bad, I ended up mostly skimming just to see what happens

I really enjoyed the stories, the only thing I disliked is that the 2nd set - is actually before the 1st set chronologically … it would have been better to have them in the correct order.

Wow this one bit me right from the start and absolute page turner. I'm even happier it's all contained in one omnibus edition, so no breaks in reading this looking for the next book in the series. The Silent Ones - "Detective" Chase Grant is called back into service when a serial kidnapper & murderer sets him up from inside a maximum security prison. Although you know that the scenario is highly unlikely to happen in real life, it's so well written you can actually believe it would happen. I love the characters and the way they were written, you can feel how the past has affected Chase, and you will shiver when you hear Dennis's name mentioned let alone when you hear him talking. Missing Person - This one had me hanging by the seat of my pants all the way with many twists and turns and plenty of surprises. This starts a few years before The Silent Ones, when ex detective Chase Grant ends up mixed up in the kidnap of a family who are in the witness protection program. The 6 year old daughter manages to evade the kidnappers and hides in Chase's house. From there it's a spiral of events which leads to Chase being pulled back into service and without giving to much away a lot of treachery. Just how Chase survives is beyond me but one things for sure I'm reading Jame's next book !!!

Great mystery

Very Good mystery. Just curious why it was in the order it was. Seems like the last half should have been first.
