Despite having eight great friends thanks to The Academy, what Gabriel Coleman really wants is a connection with someone special. However, he’s never had much luck with girls. He doesn’t have the sleek looks, wealth, or charm like his friends. The Academy has helped him a lot since his family died in tragic accidents, and he’ll always be grateful for what they’ve done for him, but he can’t help wanting more.
When his friends talk about the new girl they’ve met, Sang Sorenson, he’s shocked to learn about the horrible things that are happening to her. He hasn’t even met her yet so there’s no way he could have guessed how sweet, considerate, and inquisitive she is. How could anyone think to do anything horrible to her? But he knows, if only by her haunted expression, there’s more to her than the sweet girl his friends are half in love with already. Of course, he’s all in to help her.
From the moment Gabriel and Sang meet, there’s an immediate connection. She’s a girl who asks him questions, and seems genuinely interested in his answers. Seems genuinely interested in him. Gabriel wants to do the right thing by helping his friends keep an eye on her, but he can’t shake the feeling that there’s something more between him and Sang. He can only hope she sees it too.
I have gotten very into reading Reverse Harem novels lately because of this series. It's super hard to find decent ones that don't just read like fan fiction and this series is quite good actually. This series is really good though, it is slow to develop but that allows for more books in the series which is a good thing. Both the characters and the story are fully fleshed out and well written. I'm enjoying becoming invested in this world and pleased that I discovered this author.
This is best read by fans of the Academy series since it assumes an existing understanding of the Academy and its characters. This is not a good starting point for new readers.
Fans of the series will appreciate Gabe’s POV because it allows us a closer examination of his insecurities. Gabe has esteem issues that he hides behind a veneer of false bravado and cheer.
Additionally, this short story adds some new elements to the overall story by providing some information that has never been mentioned before. The boys are supposed to be recruiting a new member to the Academy because the organization is seriously understaffed and overwhelmed.
I love reading the boys point of view. You get to connect on a deeper level with them and get to know them more. Plus we get there thoughts when it comes to sang. Gabriel’s thought surprised me. I know later in the books he gets self conscious. I didn’t know he was always like that. Because he always outgoing and spunky and awesome. I loved the little peak in his head. Hopefully this will hold me over until the next ghost bird book.
Great read! You definitely get to see Gabriel's insecurity first hand in this book. Help me understand his character much more better too. Plus, you also get a lot more information about the guys and what they do for the Academy. It is especially cool to see how the Ghost Bird series got intertwine with the Scarlet Beetle series, since I'm guessing
I miss Sang and the guys so much. Gabriel has been my favorite from the start. Close match to Sean and North. I can’t wait for their books too. I love getting a glimpse of what they were thinking when they first met her. I know there is scarab series too but i just need the ghost bird series more. I do wish she would age them a little quicker though. We need to see some action, if you know what I mean!! Looking forward to more.
I love these novellas from the boys points of view. Much of the series is only from Sang's POV without any of the insight of all that is going on in the boys' lives. The Ghost Bird series is one of my favorites and can't wait for Unsung Requiem to be released. C.L. Stone has become an one-click author and an annual re-read.
I always love reading from the boys perspective. This time, we’re lucky enough to be reading from Gabriel. Since we’ve gotten the background of his life from the previous books, we catch glimpses even back when he first meets Sang of how he’s struggling with his home life and his self-confidence.
I feel like Gabriel’s root problem with himself and the growth he’s displayed throughout the books is amazing. It’s great to read this short book and see how far Gabriel has come. I loved seeing how nervous he was with Sang and how he didn’t always know what to do, despite his confident demeanor.
With this new addition of Meeting Sang, we see that the mission the boys were given through the letters is watching a potential new recruit. Now, although I loved all the POV books so far, it means that these books are adding more plot to the main storyline too. I’m excited to see where Luke’s POV takes us next!

Sooo good!!. I LOVE reading the boy's point of view, specially when they first met Sang, but really I could read the entire series in the 9 other different points of view and be happy. (Hint, hint) I want all the details. I would have all 10 versions lined up on a shelf <3 sorry got a little lost there. I CAN'T WAIT for Meeting Sang: Sean Green...Dr.Green? Whatever she chooses to call it. I can't wait for it!!! I know we still have a few before that happens but I'm still freaking out about it lol.
I love Gabriel. It's great to hear from him because I missed him. Here's the issue though: these events happened in the first book, which was released years a go. It's crazy how I've been reading this since the beginning of high school and now I'm a year away from finishing college, and they still have sixteen. Honestly, to this point I'm losing track. I'd wish the author stopped writing other things to focus on finishing this series. I've been here for so long.
I loved reading Gabriel’s point of view of meeting Sang. We got to see so much of his personality and especially his low self-esteem that he always seems to struggle with in the Academy Ghostbird series. I love this series and any snippet I get of these characters makes me so happy to read! I can’t wait for more of Sang and her guys and Luke’s point-of-view next!!!
In my opinion this is one of the better meeting Sang books just because it gives you more info to work within the mystery that is the academy ghost bird series. Don't get me wrong I love all of them so far. I just like this one best to date for the meeting Sang novellas. Can't wait for the others to come out! Looking forward to Norths most I think.
I love this series! This was my first series to introduce me into reverse harem and it was the best discovery ever! This book really lets you see what is going on in Gabriel head, because without this I wouldn’t have imagined the thoughts he has and what he really wants.
I love Gabriel he has to be one of my favorite characters, he's so care free and doesn't baby Sang. I love how he earns her trust enough to help her in the closet and still pick out her clothes for her.
3.5. This made me LOVE Gabriel even more. Plus it wasn’t as repetitive as all the rest have been. It felt like we actually got his POV instead of just the same situations and thoughts repeated. Can’t wait for Luke’s!
I really like this series, but this had so many grammar and spelling issues. It seems unedited. It feels rushed. Gabe is my favorite so I enjoyed this, but it needs re-edited.
I loved getting to hear the POV of the Males in this Series. It filled in the blanks for how they were feeling. However, it would've been nice to read in the same book as when they were meeting Sang from their POV.
