This was a little 'slow burn' in terms of Shira and Wilder acting on their attraction to each other, but in the best way possible. At first the book left me a little confused over what exactly had happened to Courtney, and over Shira's closeness (or not) to her parents. THEN I remembered the prequel and when I read this it threw a whole new light on those areas. SO PLEASE READ THE PREQUEL FIRST.

What I've enjoyed with this series of books is that whilst they may touch on some strong subject matter, they do so only lightly, thus keeping a more sweet feel to the book. The chemistry between Shira and Wilder was scorching hot and I loved that she was also slightly star struck at the beginning of the book. Once they give in to temptation the steam level is definitely high, but there is still with plenty of story to go with it.

I thought both main characters were well written and believable. Wilder took a little time to get to 'like' but he was still recovering from the death of his wife and wasn't in a good place mentally, so this was understandable. Shira is quirky and as sweet as the shop she works in, but has little self-belief. This all stems from the fact that her parents have constantly reinforced the message theat she has to worry about how others see her/ what they think of her. We get chapters from both POV's and as a result this helped me to connect with, like and understand both Shira and Wilder.

Whilst they didn't appear much in the prequel what was very telling was that, traumatised as she was, Shira didn't tell her mum what had just happened. Their vindictive behaviour after 'caramel gate' painted a picture of two nasty parents that really didn't care about her. Why she still bothered with them I'll never know but I guess she, as we all would, just wanted her parents love and approval.

I liked where Shira and Wilder physically were in the epilogue - it made so much sense given the problems they had experienced. It also felt so much more believable than an 'and everything was perfect' ending. The book has a good plot, the pace kept me interested, the quality of writing is excellent and leads to an easy to read and very enjoyable story.

This is a sweet love story. Wilder needs to write songs for his band but just can't hear the music anymore. So when he and his daughter go to the local candy shop and he meets Shira and starts hearing music again he just might have found his muse. Shira is helping out her parents by working their family candy shop for the month, she never thought a famous rockstar would come into her candy shop. So what happens when a "normal" person meets her famous highschool crush?
This is a wonderful story by Amelia. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

A perfect addition to this collection!

I’m loving this collection of love stories about the different band members! They’ve all got personal histories & tragedies to work through! But with these two it’s always going to be in tune!

What a read by Amelia Wilde that left me spinning and not wanting to put it down till I was done. Wilder is a rock star and is on “vacation” in a small town to try and write some songs. He’s been void of emotions since the death of his wife and this is his last chance to put something together so he brings his daughter along on the cross country trip. It’s in a candy shop that he meets his muse, Shira, who has him feeling something and now the music starts up in his head when she’s around. Shira is working at the candy store while her parents are away, she’s the perfect worker with a smile on her face and the epitome of customer service if there ever was one.
Wilder has been her celebrity crush since forever and now that he’s in town and showing interest, it’s everything that she has ever dreamed of but she has her secrets and he has his past and as they get closer can they work it out to overcome everything that has been weighing on both of them.
Oh my my my this story had me cheering for them, swooning at the steamy and sensual scenes (especially the first time...couldn’t have been written better considering) and crying at the heartaches. Wilder is not your typical rock star that is portrayed in so many books, he’s not a man wh***, he loved his wife, he’s not a cheater, he adores his daughter and his band stands by him and gets him through his roughest times....a very refreshing take on this type of character and I LOVED LOVED it ! Shira is a woman who worries more about what people would think of her than what makes her happy and considering her parents, who are a real piece of work and don’t deserve a daughter like her, she has a heart of gold and actually opens up with Wilder around and is more free than ever before.
There were a few questions I had regarding these two and then I realized there is a prequel, Bittersweet, that revealed all the answers I had with these two....what really happened with Shira and what the note entailed. Highly recommended read (both of them) and my favorite so far from this author....5 +++++ stars

I absolutely loved this story!! Wilder is sent to Lakewood to write songs for his band, Pilot Five, or lose it all. He hasn't be able to write anything since a tragedy changed his and his daughter's life forever. He's doing the best he can taking care of his daughter, Isabella, but that's about all he can do. He has a month to write the band's next album, a month he's stuck in Lakewood. He stops in a local candy shop to get his daughter candy when he spots Shira. Shira is running her parents' candy shop while they take a much needed vacation. She has the shop all to herself for a month. She feels it's the least she can do for them. I have other opinions about her parents. Opinions I'm not allow to say on here. You'll just have to read it and form your own opinion of her 'wonderful' folks.
Anyway, Wilder is affected by Shira and Shira does her best not to react to her childhood crush being in her candy shop buying candy from her. Running into Shira changes everything for Wilder, and Shira. There's an instant attraction for both of them and Wilder breaks through his writer's block around her. He wants more and so does she.
From here they cannot get enough of each other. Shira thinks he's just playing her and Wilder knows that if it goes too far then he'll lose the music again, but they both can't deny the electricity sparking between them. It gets hot, so hot, between these two. Wow! The connection they have is sweet and oh so sexy.
Don't let the title fool you. This story will make you tear up a little. I was so mad at Wilder! I understood why he reacted that way, but darn him. And her parents, the way the treat her and react to what happened? Steaming mad. I was hoping for some redemption from them but screw it, they don't matter anymore. The ending is super sweet and real. I loved this book so much I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend it!!

Shira’s controlling parents are taking a month-long vacation, leaving her in charge of their candy store while they’re gone. Famous rock musician Wilder’s wife died in a tragic hit-and-run a year and a half ago, and raising his two year old daughter, Isabella, alone can be frustrating. He unfortunately takes that frustration out on poor Shira while visiting her candy shop, but once he gets a good look at her he knows he has to have her.

The story is a perfect combination of sweet and sexy. The way Shira interacts with Isabella is cute and endearing, but it’s the way she manages to make Wilder smile that’s really impressive. The smallest things about her draw his buried happiness to the surface. It takes Wilder time to come out of his shell and let Shira in, but his desire to keep her and protect her is strong and immediate.

There were a few things within the plot that were mentioned and then dropped that I really wanted more insight to, but the main one was this:
*Possible Spoiler*
*Wilder is referencing a beer he’s drinking* “It’s nothing like the vodka I drank straight from the bottle after Courtney died. After I found her note.”
What note? I got the vibe that there was going to be some explanation that Courtney actually killed herself and it wasn’t an accident, but the ‘note’ is never explained nor mentioned again. Maybe I read too much into it, but I finished the story anticipating Wilder opening up to Shira about Courtney’s death and how it affected him, but it never came.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What happens when a brooding single dad RockStar and a Candy Shop owner’s people-pleasing daughter get together? Happiness.
Getting the right mix to make their sweet rock song, will push them both out of their comfort zones.

What could be better than a Rock God and Chocolate? Sounds like a combination I would be down for!
Add in a single dad angle, with the girl who needs someone to save her from herself that sounds like one helluva storyline!
OH YAS! I could not get over how quickly I fell right into this story- Shira and Wilder are a very captivating slightly infuriating, sexy AF, heartache yet, humourous insta-all pair! For two and half hours I had no idea what was going on around me- the only thing that mattered was these two and his daughter Isabella!
How does Amelia Wilde do it? I will never know, but she spins a tale that has me swooning males one minute, not liking them so much the next page. Thinking the heroine needs to get her act together than loving her all within a short period. Rooting for them both- hugging a pillow, telling whoever will listen at that moment how excited I am about her new book! Whatever it is, I hope she never stops writing them for us!
This book is just more proof of that.
I have so much love for Single Dad's SweetHeart such a well written, heart squeeze, yummy( in more ways than one) demon crushing, life lesson, journey that left me feeling good and wanting more!
An absolute must read!

I truly loved this book. I just love single dad stories and to top this off he is a sexy rock star. Yeah can you say swooning.

Shira had it rough. Reading the book you have to wonder if her parents really love her. Reading about things from her past and things she went through I would personally say they did not.

Shira’s parents owned a candy store called Sweets. This store meant more to her parents then their own daughter. She was given a huge responsibility to watch after it while they went on vacation.

Wilder was this sexy Rock star that was a single dad. He had so much hurt and pain built up in side. It seemed that the only thing he had in him was for his daughter. He was having a hard time getting pass his former wife. Wider was responsible for writing the songs for the band. The music had went silent in his head.

I just loved Isabella which was Wilder’s daughter. She was so cute and funny. I just love when author’s adds the kids and brings their character’s to life.

I loved Shira and Wilder’s first meet but loved their second meet better..LOL I love how there was this connection between these two. She starting bring life back into him. The music seemed to come to him when she was around. I can not imagine what it was like for Shira to meet and date her idol.

We get to see this hot romance between these two and them help each other overcome things in their life. It truly was a great story and glad I got a chance to read the book.

I don’t know what the magical formula is that Amelia Wilde has discovered that allows her to churn out these charming books so quickly, but she should guard it closely!

I am honestly not a huge fan of the single dad trope. I feel like it can get overdone and sappy and cliche. But Ms. Wilde seems to have figured out how to do it the right way and I always enjoy her books.

Wilder Felix is a god of a rockstar. But the lead singer of popular band Pilot Five is also a widower, a single Dad, and a man who has lost his motivation. He’s going through the motions of life for his daughter, but has lost his zest for life. A forced vacation to the tiny town of Lakewood is supposed to help him to both reevaluate his life and to write the songs he can’t seem to create in LA.

Shira Coleman is a 24 year old good girl. Running her parents’ candy shop Sweets for them while they vacation, she lives her life ruled by the events of her past, and the iron fist of her parents.

Both of their lives change the day Wilder walks into Sweets to buy some chocolate for her daughter, Isabella.

Can Wilder come to grips with having Shira in his life as more than just a musical muse? Will Shira be able to let go of that which has been drilled into her by her parents her whole life?

Their road won’t be smooth and their love will be tested. But if the two of then can stick it out, their life together will be the sweetest melody ever heard.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Another great read from Ms Wilde. I have really been enjoying the books Ms Wilde has been writing that center around the little town of Lakewood. This latest one is about Shira and Wilder. Shira is running her parents candy story called Sweets while they are on a most deserved vacation and all that they have done for her. Wilder is a member of a bad who has recently lost his wife and is now a single dad to his daughter Isabella. He needs to get away for a while and focus on coming up with new songs for a new album. Problem is he has been unable to find inspiration since losing his wife and focusing on raising his daughter alone. That is until he meets Shira. Ever since meeting her while getting a treat for his daughter, he is hearing the music once again. I loved this story and how the two are able to help one another from the events they both have gone through in their lives. This was a well written book and I loved not only the chemistry between Shira and Wilder but also how Shira loves Isabella as well. I can't wait to see what other characters pop up in Lakewood in the future.

What a Fantastic Story! Loved it. 5 Stars

I imagine every girl in highschool has had a crush on a rockstar at one time or another like Shira has on Wilder. And I bet they all dreamed of being with that person anyway they could. Lol.

Wilder is one hot rocker but is damaged inside from heartache. What he lost is truly sad but a forced vacation by his manager has him possibly seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. It only takes a slight temper tantrum from his daughter in a candy store to turn his life around. Sweet!!

Shira is the lady at the candy store that knocks Wilder for a loop. But she also feels broken thanks to her stuck up parents and an incident back in college, you'll see what I mean, lol.

Great Story of Love Lost but also because it makes you believe there can be Love that blossoms when you least expect it.

Suggest mature readers, steam level is good. lol.

Absolutely sweeeet rocker-meets-muse read!

I received an Advance Reader Copy for Single Dad's Sweetheart written by Amelia Wilde and voluntarily reviewed this book. This is another great read from her smoking single-dad storylines, this time a rocker, Wilder Felix of Pilot Five, who has hit the creativity brick wall when it comes to writing songs for an album for his label. What's more, the future of his band depends on these songs. He hasn’t performed live since his wife passed away, and he has been sent on a hiatus by his manager to see if that would spark something new. It wasn’t until his daughter demanded chocolate that he stopped by at a candy store named Sweets and clapped his eyes on Shira Coleman, who immediately inspired words in his head and became his muse and much more, creating a huge buzz in the small town.

Much like her parents, Wilder was not able to see her true worth, although that aspect is righted in the HEA that was written in the best way. Enjoyed this story!

A great new read from Amelia Wilde! When rock star, Wilder Felix shows up in Shira's small town her life will never be the same. Working at her parent's candy shop Sweets while they take a vacation and before she goes to start her new job she thinks everything would be routine, until Wilder shows up. Wilder is in town trying to write the songs his band needs to keep the label happy, but since his life was rocked by the loss of his wife he can't seem to write. That all changes when his young daughter craving for chocolate has him stopping at the candy store named Sweets and he sees Shira in her pink polo shirt. She will bring the lyrics out for him again, but the closer they become the more he fears loosing someone again. Wilder and Shira are the perfect combination and yet it will take some big mistakes for them to truly realize just how perfect they are together. Shira and Wilder meet at Shira’s parents’ candy store where Shira works as a holiday replacement while her parents are on a long overdue vacation.
Wilder, famous singer and song writer from the rock band “Pilot Five”, is on a vacation with his little daughter Isabella and is supposed to write new songs for the upcoming new album. But he is burnt out after the sudden death of his wife over a year ago and in desperate need of some inspiration that he finds in Shira.
There is chemistry between them instantly but both are in denial at first…

This book is heartbreaking, comical, even hilarious at times, hot, passionate… all at the same time.
The characters are created very detailed and seem quite authentic in all their mixed emotions, their behaviour and trains of thought…
This is a book you want to read in one go and that you cannot put out of hand easily!

Shira’s family own a sweet store, and she is left in charge when her family go on vacation. Wilder is a sexy rock star that is on vacation in this small town with his daughter, and is supposed to write more songs for his band, but due to being burnt out this is easier said than done. There is hot chemistry between these two. Will they overcome their pasts in order to have a relationship? No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed!
This is a well written, humorous, heartbreaking, passionate and sexy storyline, which had me hiked and captivated from the very beginning. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all readers!

This is one of my favorites to date. This is a story about Wilder who is a sexy single rock star forced to take a vacation in a small town by his agent. If things don’t go well and he can’t start writing music he might be dropped by his label. His little girl loves chocolate so he takes her to the only candy store in town and finds Shira. The minute he sees her he knows she is his muse! After losing his wife Wilder has has many struggles. Shira is young and a virgin so Wilder should stay away but he can’t. Having been a fan Shira can’t believe she is spending time with Wilder. I loved the chemistry and the sex between them! It’s nice to see how it all ends! What an adorable little girl Isabella is. This is by far my favorite book by Amelia. I can feel the connection between Shira and Wilder. It was beautiful. The only thing I wish I would have seen is Shira telling her parents were to stick it. Wilder is broken from what happened in his past but is holding it together for his daughter Isabella. His music has come to a standstill and one look at Shira and it all comes back to life inside him. She has had a crush on Wilder since she was a teen. He has her confused with all his different actions towards her. So their Journey Begins. Her as his Muse. Him as her dream come true. I really enjoyed reading Single Dad's Sweetheart. I definitely recommend it.

Sweet and Spicey

Rocker Wilder has lost a lot in the last year and a half. His wife has died and so has his ability enjoy life and to write songs. He takes his daughter Isabella and her nanny to the quiet town of Lakewood to Rey and get inspiration and some songs written before his record company writes his band off. He’s angry and desperate. And then he walks into Sweets and sees HER.
Shira is running her parents candy shop while they take a much needed vacation. At least she’s trying to while they micromanage from long distance. Thank goodness t’s only for a month, until she can start her new job in New York at an investment company. Then one day, in walks her teen crush, the Wilder Felix, and life as she knows it will never be the same.

I am in love with Shira and Wilder! This is about a musician and a candy maker. It starts with heartbreak because you meet him while he is trying to get his sweet little girl some candy for the local candy store “Sweets”. He a widower who is still going through the grieving process even though it’s been a year. He is struggling he can’t come up with any new music everything is just silent when he try’s, that is until he sees her Shira. Then it’s like a switch goes on and he can hear the music again. That where it starts but there is so much more to this lovely, Hot story! I would definitely recommend this book! I am voluntarily leaving my honest review after reading this arc.

This was a good read for me. I thought that the writing flowed well, and the story was a good one. Wilder and Shira were good together, and they had great chemistry. Wilder and Shira both had their moments were I wanted to shake them, but Wilder's was a little more over the top. The was a note mentioned in reference to his late wife that I would have liked to heard more about. Shira's parents were horrible. I would have loved to have a scene where she finally stood up to them. They said horrible things to her, and it would have been great to see that. I was glad that Wilder and Shira got their HEA.

A sweet rollercoaster ride

This was such a sweet story, with a twist in Wylder's back story being a refreshing change from the usual cheating ex.
Shira and Wylder grow their relationship through heartfelt and down to earth means, taking readers on an emotional journey along the way to their Happily Ever After.
There were a couple of mislabeled chapters but once you worked out the glitch the text was still enjoyable.
I still don't understand why the author throws the totally unrelated random chapters in at the end, to introduce the next story.... they are usually more of a distraction than anything else.

Absolutely my favorite by Amelia so far. A sexy rock star single dad Wilder meets sweet candy shop worker Shira. The instant Wilder sees Shira she becomes everything especially his muse. Since losing his wife, Wilder has had a hard time writing songs until he meets Shira. Shira has been a fan forever and can’t believe she gets too spend time with Wilder. The chemistry is there, the sex is hot and of course Isabella, Wilder’s daughter is adorable. An amazing story that will have you glued too your kindle.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I liked Wilder and his daughter’s sweet relationship. Shira started out being too needy, but then thankfully became more confident. I loved the chocolate making and rock star mix of the storyline. I liked the band members support for Wilder. They brought some fun humor to the story.
Wilder and Shira’s were an odd couple for me. They just didn’t have that sizzling effect for me. Maybe it was how he first portrayed her. This is only my opinion and shouldn’t discourage you from buying the book.

Amelia Wilde's Single Dad's Sweetheart appeared to be a story about the forbidden, a woman he shouldn't become involved with despite his desire to consume her in every way possible. Yet, it was much more than that. The author gave us wonderful characters in this story and I love the sweetness of the story line, along with some of the sour moments that reared its ugly head. The story was well paced and I found myself addicted to finishing the story as quickly as possible. I really like this author and their books are always a fabulous read.

Awesome rockstar romance! Shira is unappreciated and belittled by the very people who should care the most. Wilder is a single father who lost his mojo after a tragedy. But that's all about to change because the moment he lays eyes on Shira his head and heart are filled with music again. There is insane chemistry between Shira and Wilder. These characters are so well-written, the story so engrossing, I could not put it down. This is an amazing love story and I didn't want it to end. I loved it. Wilder lost his muse when he lost his wife. While taking a break he stumbles upon Shira working in her family’s Sweet Shop. He begins to feel things he hasn’t felt in a long time including his music. But it’s not destined to be easy, and when an innocent joke goes awry, everything begins to fall apart.

This is a charming tale filled with emotions, laughter, drama and love. It’s an entertaining, fast-paced read that will draw you in from the beginning and keep you enthralled until the very end. You will find it very hard to put down. I highly recommend this delightful story!

Shira is covering for her parents in their sweet shop while they take a much needed months vacation. Her parents are strict & a lot controlling.
Wilder when my wife died & left me with my daughter the urge to write songs has left me, leaving my manager to send me to a small town to write the songs the band needs but it’s not happening till I see her!
Can they both get what they want or is it to late
