The editor of the Everyman magazine invited readers to send in accounts of their own war experiences, 3,000 words maximum. He received over 300 submissions, and the very best of them (60) are published here, covering 1914, France & Flanders, Gallipoli, Macedonia, Palestine, Mesopotamia, German East Africa, In the Air, Women, on sea, and prisoners.
