The catalogue of an exhibition titled Crossroads of Clay at the McKissick Museum, The University of South Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina. The exhibition documented the development of the alkaline-glazed stoneware tradition which is indigenous to the American South. The tradition, which appeared in the nineteenth-century in the Edgefield District of South Carolina, spread techniques and styles throughout the lower South with the migration of potters. Illustrated primarily in black and white with 8 full-page color plates.
