Silence

Rate this book
When my brother, the King, married fifteen-years ago, I welcomed his new family as my own. His wife . . . her baby girl.
My niece by marriage.
I left to war the savages. For years I traveled back and forth, seeing that child age.
But then the last battle kept me away for almost a decade . . .
I’ve returned now to take my rightful place: second-in-command to the throne.
I am everything this kingdom stands for—everything it needs. The kind of pillar not even my brother can aspire to being.
They all look up to me. To maintaining their code.
Yet, they do not know the truth.
In the grip of the shadows, she haunts me at night.
During the day, she smiles and whispers, showing me traces of that sweet little girl.
At night, she’s there, a vision in black. Watching, stalking . . . no words need to be said.
She knows.
I’m losing the battle. This thing between us is an evil spark.
Thousands of years of honor are threatened—about to be shredded by the impossibility of our desire.
She doesn’t care.
It’s in her silence that she kills me . . . and she wields it like a blade.
The savage call of her blood is more than I can handle . . .
And the need to own her body might destroy us both.

Holy. Freaking. Hotness!! 🔥🔥🔥

Told entirely from the hero's POV, we get an inside look at a man's fight against the inevitable.

It's sexy and erotic. It's forbidden and taboo. It's paranormal and otherworldly. It's bloody magnificent!! 🖤🖤🖤

Mine. My female. Dangerous thoughts. Unstoppable thoughts.

Obsidian. What can I say about this man to truly capture his awesomeness? He was honorable, noble, and loyal to a fault. When he left home as a warrior to defend his people, he left behind his brother, sister-in-law, and new niece by marriage. When he came back, his niece wasn't a little girl anymore and he couldn't keep his eyes or his thoughts off of her. He wanted her more than he'd wanted anyone before but it was wrong. It would cause chaos. It could destroy their family. Right?

This raw, heady bliss nearly consumes me, morphing into a whole new bout of bloodlust that I've never experienced before.

This female was meant to be mine.

Obsidian's resistance to Calamity's wiles was hilarious. She gave as good as she got and I loved her for it. If he was unwilling to give in to what was between them, finding pleasure with other females, then she would find her own pleasure as well. Yes girl!! Calamity was a bit of a mystery (well, not for me because I knew. I knew.) and witnessing Obsidian trying to figure her out was a great way to spend my time. These two were destined for each other and although this is classified as a standalone, I'm hoping beyond all hope that I'll see them again! 😜😜

Let me start by saying N. Isabelle blanco's new book is F##king Fabulous!!! This is my kind of paranormal erotica romance!!!! These vampires are what vamps are all about power, passion, sex and top of the food chain predators!!! Obsidian is a warrior and total bad ass who loves to fight and f##k,so my kind of guy!!! When he comes home after 5 years of fighting and protecting his brothers kingdom and people he shocked to see calamity his niece by marriage has grown into a seductive vampire wanton who makes it clear that she has her sites set on him! The chemistry is page burning, sweat dripping hot! and although Obsidian fights the pull to feed and claim calamity ,at every turn she's their driving him to blood lust and when these two finally come together the sex is combustible!!! N. Isabelle blanco is FABULOUS WRITER who knows how to pull you in from beginning to end and I love her characters!!! I Read this in one sitting! That's how awesome this book is!!! N. Isabelle Blanco really impressed me with this captivating read. Obsidian knows better than to succumb to his hunger for Calamity, his niece. His emotions and strenuous desires are very vivid, I was overwhelmed with his covetous desires for her. The forbidden attraction between them becomes a tangible thing, and Obsidian commits the ultimate sin when he gives in to his desires and makes love to Calamity.

This book is fast!
This book is sexy!
It is one I highly recommend to all paranormal erotic romance lovers.

This book was so good, so why my 3,5 * ?
Some pros and cons :

Pros:
•good erotica
• a story from the heros pov was different and welcomed
•strong , sexy confident heroine,is what I crave most
• strong world building and different ideas from others vamp books I’ve read
• steamy sex scenes 😍

Con:
• being romanian and from Romania some words used by the author supposedly romanian words are very incorrect ex:
“Go on. Enjoy fucking your little curveles,” she says, using the Romanian word for whores. ” . : let me tell you this word is completely misspelled, the word is CURVĂ .
As well with some locations used like “Bercini” is called Berceni and the forest they have their location is actually a park in reality 🙂
This being said , it bothered me a bit this fact and the author could have simply asked some of her Romanian fans for some help with the words or maybe an online dictionary(google translate sucks) ... still enjoyed it tho !

N. Isabelle Blanco always finds a way to grab you on page one and hold you hostage right up until the end. With Silence, she brought all the gritty fuckedupness she could manage and put it out there for us to read. This story is brutal, graphic, dark, and not for the faint of heart.

If the words: forbidden, bloody and vampires make you feel something, then you should definitely get yourself a copy of this book.

I can't wait to see what else the author has in store for these two ♥.

description

TBH would rather read the Bible than read about a male protagonist that has multiple orgies and threesomes throughout the entire story.

And I'm an atheist ;)

Hot. Quick. Paranormal. Taboo-ish.

Obsidian has returned to his home after five years at war. His brother is King, and he couldn’t be happier to serve his home by fighting for it. The thing is when he sees his brothers adopted daughter, Princess Calamity, he can’t help the unexplainable pull he has towards her. He knows she’s his adopted niece, and she’s just 21 compared to his two millennia of life... BUT HE WANTS HER ANYWAY! But he finds some way to barely control his attraction.

Anyway... that’s all I can say without spoiling too much. If you’re looking for “safe” this ain’t it. If you’re looking for taboo vampire with a lite modern monarchy feel, that quick and smutty... then you’ve found itttttt!

I will say at times it did feel as though I was missing part of the story. Like is there another book I should have read prior to this one? It only happened a couple of times, but it’s the reason I took away a star. Other than that odd feel I got, it was a great read.

Silence by N. Isabelle Blanco is the story of Obsidian and Calamity.
Obsidian brother who is King married a women with a young girl. Obsidian is the warrior of the family who has been fighting for the last years of his brother's marriage. So when he returns home its to find that little girl is a women of 21 and his eyes about pop out of his head. Although there is no blood or real bond between them as uncle and niece, but it is still a taboo feeling between them.
This is my first book by this author and I will be hunting down her books from now on...loved this one.

Apparently I should have been reading more sparkly beast men novels. Holy fuck...this book was way more sexy, intriguing, riveting, pulse pounding than twilight ever was. But it just fucking ends...I’m guessing (hoping) there are more books in the works???

I’m giving it an extra star cuz it doesn’t deserve its low rating.

2/2022
This feels like the prequel to the best fucking vamp series ever but without more books I want to 2 star the fuck out of this :/ It’s so good and so much is left unresolved or explained and I just want to dive right into this world. Deep Breath…I will not ONE STAR just because I’m pissed AF.

I’m pretty sure this is my first vampire read ever. (GASP!) I know, right?! But after seeing some smoking hot teasers, I knew I had to give this one a try. I loved it! It’s hot as fuck, first of all. And it’s entirely in the hero’s POV, which is my faaaavorite! It’s taboo, and angsty, and just all kinds of perfect. Whether you’re into pnr or not, you should definitely check out Silence. You won’t be disappointed!

I loved the author's previous book from the series. This one wasn't an exception, but with some things that I didn't like as a reader.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoyed the book soo soo much, but the last couple of years I became very picky with the tropes in the books and some of the scenes in them. Before I continue with the good stuff in the book, I will get it over from my chest. I am not giving any spoilers, because I want you to enjoy it. The things I didn't like we're in the beginning of the book and thankfully I'd didn't continue for so long. I didn't like at all Obsidian's attitude and action towards Calmity. I know that he was pushing her away, but I don't think that this is the way to do it.

Now let's continue to the good part. Even though he was persistent to the attraction towards her, in the end he gave up. And how he shouldn't gave up. After all she is his mate for forever. I do understand why she was pushing him as well and why she was so jealous - she didn't want to continue to be hurt by him. But that didn't mean she didn't love him. She never admitted that to herself, but I know she does.

When they finally got together...OMG...They were fire fire fire. The passion, the smut, the erotic scenes...everything was exactly the way I like it. It was perfect to me. I loved loved loved this ♥️♥️♥️.

So, the book is a novella and it did ended in a cliffhanger. That is why I need to read the next book from the series. The author mentioned that their story will continue in the next books. I can't wait. I am soo excited by this.

I received ARC from Grey's Promo and this is my honest review.

Silence by N. Isabelle Blanco is book 1.5 in the Ryze series. Although Lust, book 1 did not deliver as I hoped, the world intrigued me. Therefore, I chose to continue the series by reading Silence.  Initially, I was at a loss as to how this installment tied in with the series as the characters featured here were not mentioned in the previous book.  It was in the epilogue that the connection came to light.

The story introduces readers to Obsidian and Calamity. It began with Obsidian, a centuries old vampire returning home after being at war for for the last 5 years to take up his role as second in command to his brother, the king. Calamity is the king's step daughter, Obsidian's niece by marriage and  heir to the throne. When Obsidian laid eyes on the twenty-one year old Calamity upon returning home the sudden attraction he had for her took him by surprise. He tried fighting his sudden attraction, as giving would spell disaster for the kingdom. However, her pull was stronger than his will.

Throughout most of the story we see Obsidian lusting after Calamity and struggling against his attraction. The angst as well as the sexy moments were off the charts. The back and forth between our protagonists will leave readers with a massive case of whiplash. With all the focus being on the angst and lusting after forbidden fruit, it took me awhile to get into the story. However at around fifty percent things started to get interesting and we see the plot starting to develop. Then the cliffhanger happened, leaving me with lots of questions.

The characters were interesting, but unfortunately I had no connection to them. They are both promising characters, but lacked the development needed to connect with them. I didn't have the opportunity to know them as much as I would like. As a result their relationship failed to resonate with me, which was further compounded by the lack of emotional connection between them. It was all about the physical for these two.

This book is definitely not for everyone. Its more suitable for readers of forbidden romance and erotica.  This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

This is the first part in a two part story of two characters who are forbidden to be together, but can't help themselves by feeling a certain way about one another and I gotta say I absolutely loved the way this couple was explored and I seriously can't wait to see what happens in the next book between them.

Fast-paced, sexy (oh, so sexy) and mysterious.

Obsidian is home after a number of years away fighting for his family. He is the family fighter, master planner and killer. He is dark and brooding but has centuries of experience under his belt. What he has no experience with are the feelings he has for someone he should not.

Told completely in his POV, Obsidian battles himself and tries to find answers about the object of his obsession. There is something that he is not privy to and he wants to know what that is. This book definitely had an erotic and taboo edge to it. And nothing makes those two things even more delicious than adding in vampires and blood. I read this in an afternoon and it was certainly one I would have loved to have more of, but I am content with how it ended.

And the pieces start falling together...

I will admit for 95% of the story I questioned how it fit into the Ryze series being book 1.5. In the last 5% I audibly shouted “it all makes sense now! Wow!”

Silence is Book 1.5 of the Ryze series. It focuses on characters Obsidian and Calamity.

Obsidian is a great warrior to the Kingdom of the Zÿar. He is the King (His Brother) second in command. He has been gone from the kingdom for some time fighting in a war. On his return, he takes notice of the newly found young woman, her royal highness, his adopted niece, the Princess, Calamity. … And she has taken notice with him as well.

Calamity is beauty and grace. She is power and destruction. She has a secret that is held within the confines of her mother, the Queen and her adopted father, the King. She is a special hybrid of Vampire and Succubus. In other words, she drives those around her into a lustful frenzy who entrances all to go with what she says. She has her sights set on her “Uncle” and she is not letting him go so easily.

Together they are a frenzy. Passion, lust, intensity, and jealousy surrounds them as a duo. They have made their marks and bonded. However, the kingdom comes to peril in sudden time.

What is next to come? I guess we shall wait and find out… Amazing novel. I cannot wait for the next one!

I received this novel as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. 🙂

First I just have to say fanfuckingtastic, phenomenal, amazing, supreme, and so much more I could go on for days but this book is the BOMB! I just could not put it down. I was so engrossed in this story that the time simply got away from me and before I knew it it was 3:00 am and I was finished and the first words out of my mouth was WTF did I just read? Because HOLY HELL N. totally blew me away.

Obsidian is off to fight for his people. To keep their secret safe and to keep the threats away from those he loves. Always coming home from the war tired and a hero he is welcomed by his people. Then this last war takes him away from his family and loved one for five long years.

When he returns home from being gone for so long things have changed. His family has changed as his brother is still the king and wife the queen standing right by him but his niece Calamity has grown up into this beautiful woman. Calamity knows what and who she wants and it is taboo because her blood and body call to Obsidian her uncle. She stalks him at night and calls to him in the mornings and Obsidian's body wants to claim her and his blood is calling to hers.

But how could this be because they should not want each other and the more Obsidian fights against it the more Calamity fights for it and calls to him. Unable to fight it anymore Obsidian gives in and when he does it is explosive for them. Their bodies and souls become one and what happens after that is mind blowing and breathe taking. This is a must read by N. so go on and one click it because you will not be disappointed!

This was a good book, well written and thoroughly enjoyable but is meant for people who wants more romance/drama than actual supernatural story. You can feel all the angst coming off from miles, from this book.
I mean seriously, Till now the story hasn't even revealed the relationship of the main characters yet?!!!
I have no problems reading forbidden relationship but it's pulling in way too much drama than going on with the actual story line.
So I'm done. It's a good read for people who are looking for forbidden relationship, romance and erotica and not exactly for people who are wanting to read a supernatural romance like angels blood, feral sins, burn etc...

In the meantime, Happy Reading People(^o^)/!

So I have to give this book a solid 4 1/2 stars. I wanted to give this book a 5-star rating (although it does show a five star) I enjoyed this story very much. All the characters are broad; the story is exciting and intense — however, the ending. Jesus the ending killed me. N. gives us a finish that blew me away. I even yelled throughout my house "OMG WTH!" So be warned.

Again I enjoyed this book, but the ending might get you- in a good way! So enjoy this book as much as I did.

This book is A dark intense forbidden paranormal romance and I love it.
The tension and mystery are so strong from the beginning. Bloods, sex, ancient met modern, dark supernatural creatures, yes yes yes yes, love them all. There's also love and steaminess (the hotness is off the roof), this bookbook really got me squirming on my seat, although I wanted to slap and kick the main characters for what they did most of the time (this is what makes me can't stop reading it) I still love it nonetheless.

If you're a paranormal romance lover or a forbidden romance lovers or a vampire world lovers, this book is definitely for you.

Silence by Isabelle Blanco was good little surprise.
The universe she build up is wide and interesting, there was an aura of mystery all along which was very enticing.
Now about our heroes the relationship of Obsidian and Calamity is obsessive, volatile, hot and forbidden, everything I love.
My only complaint is that this book is too short, there is too much left unsaid,I want to see more of their love, how they are going to navigate this complex situation.I am really intrigued by the mythology, the meaning of their bond. I am still hungry for more....

WOW! WHAT AN EPIC NOVELLA, AND I SWEAR I'VE NEVER READ ANY THAT PACKED SUCH A PUNCH! I'm literally salivating for their story now, and I loved that this entire story was written from the MMC's POV. That's so rare.

Of course, now I'm curious to know what's going on behind Calamity's mind and I hope that their story won't disappoint! Though short, it was angsty and the build up was a chef's kiss.

When one of your favorite authors drops the bombshell that they are writing a Dark Vampire romance that is very taboo there is a high likelihood that I might have screamed like a school girl. Okay, who am I kidding? I definitely squealed louder than if I saw a spider(and trust me when I say I can squeal loudly when I see one of those bastages). I Have been eagerly waiting for this book. EAGERLY. There were a lot of reasons for this but the main one was because I couldn't imagine what it would be like. I knew I was safe from vampires that sparkled but more than that I was at a loss for how she would surprise me. Well, color me pink because I was tickled.

I was right that there were no sparkly vampires (just putting that out there for people who might read this thinking it will fix their Twilight fix). In typical fashion, this author created a world that I wanted to live in which in turn says something considering that I am human and my life expectancy around humans is already short enough but put me around vampires it would not be for much longer than a minute (unless they tend to like RBF and people with dark Wednesday Adams type souls). Yet, she creates it in a way that leaves no doubt that this world is very different from the human world. The attention to details was fantastic as well, down to the wardrobe choices and the way the hierarchy of a royal vampire family works. There is taboo and there is taboo. Taboo means a lot of different things to different people but usually taboo always comes in the form of an age gap. However, Age truly doesn't matter here anyway because what is a few millennia's when someone is immortal? Yet, this book is taboo (even with the age gap) but for a different reason entirely and adding in the fact that there is a BIG twist. BIG. She had me from the beginning but that twist had me losing my mind. I might have done a little dance as I was repouring my glass of wine. By might have, I totally did. #Sorrynotsorry #donotjudge. #ThisauthorismyqueenandIloveher.

Obsidian. Sweet holy titfire. I have to share with my other favorite human, the wifey, Dee and I will be working out those days to share him because he is mine when Dee isn't using him. Hell, she can use him and I can watch. #noshameinmygame. Calamity. If that isn't the most appropriate name of all time then I do not know what is. Read the story it will make more sense. All I know is that these two are hotter than an August sidewalk in Las Vegas. Even Satan's mistress is less hot in Hades then these two. I might have cursed at the end of this book. Totally did. #againsorrynotsorry. The author gave me two characters that I already want to keep forever in my heart.

I am not sure if she intends to continue to write this series. I hope she does. Although she could write me a menu from Red Lobster and I would read that because this author writes it. I knew 2019 was going to be a big year for her. This book just proves how talented her writing style is and that it is only a matter of time before she takes the world by storm and everyone knows her name. I cannot wait to see that happen and be able to say, "I knew her when." I am sure she has been a bundle of nerves going into this. She needs to put any of those thoughts out of the way because she knocked a grand slam out of the park (sorry baseball geek here). I cannot wait to see what you do next chica! You inspire me with constant perseverance, keeping your eye on the prize, and never giving up. Time to shine bright like a diamond!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

When my brother, the King, married fifteen-years ago, I welcomed his new family as my own. His wife...her baby girl. My niece by marriage. I left to war the savages. For years I traveled back and forth, seeing that child age. But then the last battle kept me away fro five years. I've returned now to take my rightful place: second-in -command to the throne. I am everything this kindom stands for-everything it needs. The kind of pillar not even my brother can aspire to being. They all look up to me. To maintaining their code. Thousands of years of honor are threatened-about to be shredded by the impossibility of our desire. She doesn't care. It's in her silence that she kills me...and she wields it like a blade. The savage call of her blood is more than I can handle....And the need to own her body might destroy us both.

Welcome to Silence. A dark parnamoral romance from N. Isabelle Blanco. This may contain some triggers for some people so be aware of that!! This is a book that is told through the entire book in the main male character's point of view!! SO SO Exciting. The world doens't have enough male points of view in my opionion. So when I find one I pretty much devourt the entire thing. This book is so dark and so freaking good. It is everything that you look for in a dark read. And if your a fan of paranormal your gonna love this. It is usually not my cup of tea but this is amazing and only N. Isabelle Blanco could get me to read a paranormal romance. Obsidian and Calamity are certainly a taboo romance as she is he niece but by marriage not by bloood. To say that he has this smoking hot desire for her is a slight understatement. It might quiet actually catch your kindle on fire. This book will suck you in and not let you go till the very end. I loved it and that is coming from a woman who is not the hugest fan of paranormal romance.
