Jackson Thomas has never believed in the supernatural, until a mythological creature rescues him from the Louisiana bayou. Thinking his imagination is to blame, Jackson dismisses the incident and worries about normal things like starting high school and talking to girls. But when fantasy collides with reality, Jackson is hurled into a mystical world. He is stalked by an old man who disappears into thin air, his family is attacked by ghostly shadows, and then his dad goes missing.
Embarking on a mission to find his dad, Jackson and his best friend, Trey, discover an Isle in the sky brimming with mystery, prophecy, and familiar faces. If Jackson accepts his place in this magical society, he shatters his belief he is normal but gains insight into a magical future and his dad’s disappearance. Or does he? An unprecedented uprising of dark magic has put a target on Jackson’s back...
Core fantasy readers, modern fiction and character lovers read on
No one character makes a story and thats why i love the interaction jackson and renn have with all the NPC...er.. people... Cozy up to all the nods to the modern artists and think of a time when you wished you could also whisk away to other magical lands... bink, ender, harry, time to welcome your newest foray into mystic and modern!
Turning fourteen felt golden to Jackson, but he has no idea just how special the day is and what the future holds. This is a mystical, supernatural tale that I think young adults and adults can love. Reminiscent of the tales told by Christopher Paolini in his Eragon series, this series had a great beginning, can't wait to see where it goes.
A good read for people who are in to the series recommend highly can't wait for the next one of the series a really enjoyable read but quick shaping up to be a enjoyable series must read the next one of the series
