Saranna De Wylde has always been fascinated by things better left in the dark. She wrote her first story after watching The Exorcist at a slumber party. Since then, she’s published horror, romance and narrative nonfiction. Like all writers, Saranna has held a variety of jobs, from operations supervisor for an airline, to an assistant for a call girl, to a corrections officer. But like Hemingway said, “Once writing has become your major vice and greatest pleasure, only death can stop it.” So she traded in her cuffs for a full-time keyboard. Too Bad About Your Girl is a fast paced, sexy read about two best friends and band members. Kerrigan is the sultry, edgy member of Sugar and Cyanide. Dia is Kerrigan's best friend and the sweet balance of the band. Through Ms. DeWylde's expressive writing, the reader feels the passion and frustration Kerrigan experiences while she comes to terms with just how deep her love is for her best friend.

This is a well-written erotic romance to be enjoyed by f/f as well as m/f readers. I look forward to reading more of Saranna DeWylde's work.

Cute short read

This isn't typically my genre of book to read/listen to but I liked it. It was supper cute.

Obviously I went in knowing that this was a short story, but it was good enough that I wanted it to be longer. God knows I love nothing better than fake dating. There was potential here for real depth and a good story (I want to know more about their backstories and the band!). As it was, it was a good way to spend a couple hours. Really liked the narrator.

(Also, the barbells. Woof.)

This is a huge struggle for me. It's weirdly short and somehow has very little tension despite the angst--we know the leads want each other. I guess unlike most F/F I'm not like OH MY GOD THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 400 PAGES WITH NO KISSING but it's like, the second and seventh chapters of a much longer book or something. So it's very incomplete.

However, I listened to the Audible version and the narrator really saved any construction/etc. problems. Great reading. Worth a star on its own. And I guess it was genuinely pretty hot? But DAMN short.

I stopped 5 minutes in because there hardly seemed to be any story to expect between all the bad soft porn descriptions....
