You can't grow with Horribly Famous / Dead Famous series by Sholastic. I thoroughly enjoyed the reference to "godams" :)

LOL'D on page 100 when they talked about what a 'Godam' was ('A godam was a name the French used for an Englishman, because all they ever seemed to say was 'God Damn'!' to quote the book)





And I set the finished date to Feb 31st because apparently this is yet another mistake goodreads has made...

One of the earliest books I've read. I still remember this as my favorite book during my elementary days. It made me love St. Joan of Arc and the country of France. Actually, ever since I've read this, I dream of visiting Joan's home at France when I grow old.

Truly a must read. The comics inside are also worthy to mention! I totally love it!

St Joan Of Arc has always been a favourite of mine; she's like the equivalent of Katniss but in a medieval time period! A lovely book, especially if you either 1. have a school report on Joan of Arc (as I did), because this is very informative, 2. Is a bit of a history bluff/nerd or 3. You're just interested about Joan of Arc.

Such a sad story about wars and politics.., they wouldn't give a place for such an honest girl. Maybe just a temporary one, if that coincide with their own agenda. As soon as Joan didn't fit in their plans, she was kicked out of the game (｡•́︿•̀｡)

Illustrator Phillip mesmerises as usual. The writing is crisp and funny as it should be. This is one of the better accounts of the story of Joan.
