Main characters: Lone & Lizabeth Paige
Type of Kindred: Twin Kindred but brotherless and lonely

I actually thought that underneath all the violence this is a very sweet love story.
Lone wanted someone to share his life with since he was born and his twin brother died during birth.
Lizabeth, the expert on Kindred law, was never lucky with men – especially men much younger than her. She has been betrayed by her young lover and she has been betrayed by her much older husband later.

When Lone, her much younger assistant, helps her after the terrorist attack at the mothership; two things happen:
1. Lone finally has sexual desires for her. And this is something that he never thought that he would experience since he lost his brother.
2. Lizabeth feels very embarrassed .

Lizabeth Paige was mortified.
“Mortified,” she muttered aloud to herself. “To be caused extreme embarrassment, humiliation, shame, discomfort, and distress.” Never had a definition fit better.

I always feel sympathy for women who feel embarrassed around the men who desire, so I think I liked Lizabeth from the beginning. Truth is that there will be many times that she will feel embarrassed in the book and she will try to fight the symptoms of her illness alone and she will try to prove that she is a strong woman who does not need anyone.

Thankfully Lone is a very stubborn male.
So when the sexual needing comes, he will help her without listening to her protests;
-when she is forced to act against her shy nature at The Tower of the Higher Mind, he will be there to support her;
-when the Friezens, the planet savages, choose her for their sacrifice, he will see red and avenge her;
-when she needs healing, he will provide it for her no matter how many times she will deny him.

“How many times can I tell you I love you? How many ways can I prove that I want you—forever?”

So, this is a typical Kindred tale with its sexy times and it’s dark times and its happy-ending times. If you are a fan, I am sure, you will enjoy it.

I only knew Anderson from her The Assignment series. And that had been yeeeaaars, I think. So I wasn't sure what exactly jumping into this series would be like. My GR friends have lovingly been telling me about their adventures with it, and promised to let me know if a femdom kindred came along.

So here it is! These will just be my random thoughts

🍯 Lone carries all of the emotional labour. I'd have liked Liz to not only focus on her own insecurties and actually care more about Lone's emotional well-being.
The whole "oh no I've been burned in romance before and now I can't trust" is a very used trope, and not one I'm super fond of. Plus Liz just not listening to Lone made me kinda annoyed at times.

🍯 Yes, this is femdom... but reluctant and more a case of "sub man + vanilla woman". Liz isn't really a domme. For most of the story she seems vaguely disgusted by the concept of sub men (especially if they enjoy pain!).
Most of the men on display in the dungeon had been middle-aged and flabby with unsightly body hair and too much fish-belly-white skin on dislay under their ridiculous leather harnesses.

I also find this paragraph hypocritical AF for the bodyshaming. Liz is so insecure about how she looks. She constantly needs Lone telling her how beautiful and "elite" she is. I just find it odd that Kindred are hailed as great for seeing worth in older, curvier/overweight women, when the FMC cannot extend the same care for men who aren't ripped, muscle Kindred.

I adored Lone being a service sub, and I'd have liked to see more of Liz embracing that. As it is
"Mistress," he growled softly, dropping to his knees before her. "I am yours. Use me."

Also they do sorta switch once. But ehh, I'd call it more vanilla maledom. Like just rough fucking.

🍯 Some of the set-ups and reasons that force Lone and Liz together are so out there. But I enjoyed it! It was fun. But you can't take this book to seriously. It's here to entertain and be very extra.

🍯 CW:

🍯 I really liked Mistress Anarrah and her Novice. I'd honestly love to read their story.

Kindred are some of my favorite heroes and I feel so bad for Lone because he was paired with a self-centered woman.

Ugh, see, there are some arrogant people who think they are the best and then there is this other kind of arrogance in which they think they are the worse and therefore no one would love them, with zero ability to feel empathy.

It was terrible what Lizabeth went through, the torture is not something I condone. However, before that, she was in this mind frame in which she has no idea of her own flaws, she only magnifies the reasons she thinks other people would have to not love her.

If you look at her first relationship, she got tangled with a student. Hello! That is terrible on her part, she should have been the grown up and understand that if a much younger guy who happens to be her student, even if he said the sweetest things, she should not have been romantically involved with him, nonetheless she blames him for the perception she has about herself and that is so sick.

Then she lives among the Kindred and never realizes that they don't have crushes, they fall in love, totally and completely at first sight, that they would not just forget about their mate and if they are partially bonded is also very hard on them. Nope, she never connected with Kindred or her own friends who happen to be curvy also. Arghh

Then when she goes to Yonni Two, she is this very spoiled brat, all the food, the clothing, everything is a big, fat no. I understand her sexual hesitation however she knew beforehand that it was a sexual society. The food issue just shows her rigidity, come on, has she never eaten lobster? they do get boiled just before you eat them, what about truffles or blue cheese, come on, we also have a lot of smelly food that is considered a delicacy or that it has grown in less than ideal situations. She only criticizes every single person and situation and is very hurtful.
So this book was a miss for me and that is sad because I truly love the Kindred :-(

So, as usual, I keep reading this series, though I totally have to remind myself this is more erotica than romance. Still, the author has a fertile imagination creating different cultural sexual practices. Interesting to use the Twin Kindred who lost his twin. I was entertained and liked it. I didn't even get annoyed at the sexual formula this author waaay over uses.

As for the depraved cultures introduced in this series. If you all can't figure out the point IS that it's horrible, not the author being disturbed, I feel kind of sorry for you. Lots of excellent literature has difficult scenes in it. Racism, child brides, surviving child abuse or domestic abuse, cults. Beautiful stories celebrating human strength or healing and finding love.

Some romantic suspense has serial killers, and it doesn't mean the author is disturbed. Horror flicks are stories. Suspense are stories. Novels dealing with the healing and love after a traumatic event aren't about the traumatic event. It's about the strength to survive it and be happy.

Now if it brings up painful memories, pass this one up. Totally understandable. But if you just dislike it, maybe people need to stop dumbing down the entire book to one scene or one culture that is SUPPOSED to be evil. Books get boring without the big bad evil our couple vanquishes.

Disappointing main character

I have read several Kindred stories now and I enjoy reading them when I don't have anything else to read and when I forget about some aspects which I really think are annoying. Again all human males are really bad. The author portrays human males as if there were no loving, caring men in the world (or is it just Tampa guys?). In each and every single novel the Kindred male shines because he is compared to the worst human males possible. Well, sorry, but everybody shines compared to total trash. I still think that they would be more outstanding if they had to compete with loving human males. But the author does it again and again and again.
About this particular story: I was interested before I started reading it, when I got a glimpse of Lone and Lizabeth when the XI-46 was released in „Releasing the Dragon“. But I was greatly disappointed. There is nothing as annoying as a dumb main character. And though Lizabeth is portrayed as a 45-year-old successful woman (same age as me, so I hoped I could relate to her, I thought maybe I could identify with her...but nope), she is simply dumb throughout the story. It starts with the way she deals with her needing attacks. I get it that it is embarrassing, but when you learn that it is dangerous and can lead to severe damage, if you don‘t get help, you should be able to overcome your embarrassment as a 45-year-old woman. She acts more like a 14-year-old in this case. She always stresses that Lone is too young for her, but actually he acts more mature than she does. At one point, when she repeated that for the thousandth time, I cried out: „You‘re not too old, you‘re simply too stupid! He deserves a mature and a socially intelligent woman.“ And sorry, she had two big disappointing experiences with men who preferred younger women. I thought, I am so broken, if she has such baggage from just two men.
Again the storyline is predictable. I knew the moment when they met the commander of the guards which role he would play. Lone and Lizabeth get more than hints about what is going on behind the scenes of the tower, but they simply deny thinking about that or being suspicious.
Well, I was prepared for the female mutilation scene and I think both shown societies are simply disgusting. But they are supposed to be disgusting. I see why the author used the mutilation. I think the development of the couple would have worked without, but she chose this way. Not my favourite, especially as the problem is simply solved by genocide. Again the Kindred are compared to the worst to shine.
Conclusion: Please, when you choose an older main character, let her/him be mature according to her/his age, pleeeeaaaaase!

Loved this story. As an older woman that reads this author’s books I loved seeing this story about an older woman.

We all know how it can be to be burned in a relationship and will be able to relate to how Lizabeth Paige felt. I think the author did an amazing job putting this character together. Lizabeth was a strong woman but had some insecurities about her. She truly did not want to be hurt again and felt a little self-couscous of her plus size body.

I loved Lone’s character. He was a young kindred man who was given the gift of hope and renewed faith. Since he was a twin Kindred without a twin he never would of dreamed of finding a mate or even feeling sexual toward a woman. So I found it interesting seeing this young man given this gift. What a special gift to be given. I loved his determination and patience he had with Lizabeth. Though this journey will cause him some pain.

WOW, the Friezens on Yonnie Two were some scary people.

Lizabeth is battling the Xi-46 lust compound. That had to be awful to deal with. Her approach to deal with her situation was interesting in the least..LOL

There was a lot that was going on at Yonnie Two and Lizzabeth and Lone will have their challenges a head of them. They will face pleasure and pure danger that will be come their nightmare.

I truly enjoyed the book and look forward to the next one.

all the same material

Almost all the books have the same story line just different people. Sex cult. Forced sexual acts. Unnecessary drama that leaves you with a headache. It was hard getting through this book. I had to skim through some parts because it was just to much. It was like as soon as Lizabeth went down to the planet she lost her brain and her insecurity and getting hung up on the age difference made me nauseated. This whole book rubbed me the wrong way from the nectar coming out of the tatas,to the voyeurism and forced sex and details of mutilation was all just gross. All the characters are almost all the same they don’t have personalities anymore. It was like the author just copy and pasted the story from previous books and just changed names with a little tweaks here and there. The ending was alright but it was like torture getting to it.

STANDS ALONE HAS MY WHOLE ENTIRE HEART!!! Out of all the Kindred, I'm so intrigued by the Twin Kindred and was really excited to read about a Twin who's brother died young. Lone is my favourite type of guy ever 😭😭😭 like I'm so sad he's not real and guys like him don't exist, that's how sad I am right now 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Ok lore wise, this wasn't as interesting as the other books. Then again, the Secret Santa Surprise novel with Twin Kindred Sees Clearly and Feels Strongly also had no crazy plot going on but was pretty good too. Maybe I'm super biased for Twin Kindred????

Ok it's 1 am I need to sleep goodnight

Adios 🌊

A 45 year old successful lawyer has been working legal cases for the Kindred. She's divorced after a flagging marriage failed completely when her husband left her for a younger woman. She's gained weight and feels that her age and heavier body type means she is no longer desirable. Her younger assistant is a twin who lost his other half so is incomplete and believes he'll never be able to bond or sire children until he meets her. She is fond of him and shows it but still makes an effort to be as professional as possible. He's enamoured of her but also remains respectfully professional until exposure to an aphrodisiac chemical causes her to need assistance to calm the symptoms.

He is happy to finally have an excuse to realize some of his fantasies and she is mortified and guilty of taking advantage of her employee. They go on a mission to learn more about certain legal maters for an important case. The book proceeds predictable for Anderson's erotica in them ending up forced to engage in highly intimate and sexual scenarios to maintain their cover and complete their mission, with them struggling to manage their desires with what they think they should do or what they think the other really wants until some suitably drastic thing happens to bring it all to a head.

The frustrating thing, to start with, is the fixation that this woman has with being too old. She's only 45 for goodness sake. While that is getting middle age and beyond the usual age for human females to have kids, it's hardly ancient and undesirable by anyone. She goes on about at 45 she has sagging king and sagging boobs and is no longer in any shape to be seen without her clothes. The author insults women everywhere to suggest that this is the state and desirability of women in their 40s. The hero is 30. Yes, that's 15 years her junior which is on the high end of a difference but there are not a small amount of men 10-15 years older than their wives that nobody blinks an eye at the difference. Also at 30 he's grown enough to know his own mind and make an informed decision about his relationships it's not like he's 19 or something to have his head turned by a mature woman and a raging libido. What's more she can feel his emotions, yet she doesn't believe his feeling are real. Give him some credit!

She has major body image issues even though she lives on the kindred mothership where all the human females are plus-sized and adored by their Kindred mates so minimal reasoning power should let her understand that even if she is self-conscious about her looks if a Kindred male tells her he finds her size and shape beautiful he's probably not just pretending. In fact for a successful lawyer that had to defend the Kindred's rages in protection of their mates and all that, she should have researched and had a pretty good idea of how they connect and love and all of that so shouldn't be so quick to dismiss his declarations as either inventions to make her feel good or silly infatuation... Come on do you know remember anything you learned lady.

The woman is also very unwilling to unbend and do as the romans while in Rome, protesting and arguing every step of the way for everything little thing even when it doesn't really cost anything to unbend. Just let your novice tie your damned shoes already, or hold his hand to walk across a pond.

And the food! Grrr. This author seems to come up with all manner of exotic foods stuffs that the human women always find supper gross and refuse to even taste as if all earth foods are so wonderful. These women are spacefaring living with aliens and just because it looks a little weird they won't even try a bit. Grow up!

The author makes a point of having "plus-sized" women as her heroines which is fine as a counterpoint to all the perfect and slim women so common in modern media but she focuses so heavily on this fact that it gets a little over-bearing. The heroine recase a scene in a BDSM club she witnesses where the "submissive" males were disgusting to her and it seems to be largely because they were middle-aged, overweight and under-tanned. This makes her a hypocrite if age and appearance are such a sticking point for her.

I know these books are more about an excuse for the erotica than an indepth story themselves but this one particularly annoyed me as I had much higher hopes for an intelligent slightly older women than the whiny childish behaviour she displays.

Anyone else feels like the plot is always the same? Woman resists, woman complains about weight (weight and age here), sex on a random planet by some situation that forces them to do it, back to the mother ship where the woman is convinced the man doesn’t want her/they shouldn’t be together + woman is physically hurt in some way, girl chat with the OG women that results in the woman reconsidering, sex and make up. Rise and repeat.

Also, what’s up with alien food almost always being disgusting or terrible? Geez. It’s okay to make the food delicious, I promise.

Er, this was not my favorite book in the series . . . . I did not really like how Lizabeth treated Lone for most of the time. She was just in denial herself, I understand that, but their chemistry was off.

Instructing the Novice is the 13th book in the Kindred Tales series and also a Brides of the Kindred novel by author Evangeline Anderson. This book is not a standalone title. We have been to this planet before and have had experiences with the mistress system here. That is very important to this storyline.
Lizabeth is a Mistress. She is determined to be the best at her job. She just has to learn to control her needs. She will control herself in the tower on the Higher Minds. She just needs to get over her need of her Novice, Xi-46.
Xi-46 has been in love with Lizabeth since he started working for her. He is 15 years younger than her, but he does not see age as being a reason they cannot be together. His kindred twin died when he was younger. He was raised a loner. He needs to convince his Mistress she will be strong with him at her side forever.
This story has a lot of twists and turns. Lots of storylines to keep you reading and wanting more. There is a lot of sex in this one, but the politics of this story is very important. I love how everything flows so beautifully together to make an unforgettable story.
I highly recommend this series as a whole to anyone who loves stories with lots of layers and lots of diversity. This book will not disappoint.

Not gonna lie, I probably missed Evangeline's older books. I still enjoy her books, but the older ones had some great plots and worlds. This wasn't my favorite book by her, but it was entertaining and worth the read.

Kindred Stands Alone, namely aptly because his twin Kindred died when he was a baby, has been in love with his boss, Lizabeth, for years now. However, because of her past, she doesn't believe he can ever love or desire her. (This is a big conflict in their relationship.)

They journey to Yonnie Two, a planet that is freezing cold and inhabited by a wildly misogynistic tribe who cut out the clit & gang rape a woman they dub their Snow Queen in order to impregnant her because Yonnie Two is also home to the Tower of Learning. Lizabeth plans to study with one of the mistresses to learn Yonnie Law for her current court case. Stands Alone, nicknamed Lone, poses as her "novice".

The Mistress Superior was such a great villain. The healing scenes between Lone and Lizabeth were so pure & tender, and I loved that Lizabeth got pregnant at the end (I was hoping for that!).

This book was another wonderful story by Evangeline, there was more than enough action, passion and adventure to keep me turning the pages and it kept me in suspense. The two characters have a lot of issues they need to address and this take a fair amount of time and also some times creative solutions however the plot was inspired and I enjoyed every moment.
Lizbeth and Lone have a history and some of the things they have had to overcome have been very intimate and have caused a good deal of embarrassment and the solution she has taken has been to push him away as though everything has simply been fiction, however the mind is sometimes the biggest trickster and refuses to be kept silent effectively meaning they both have to take on board what the Goddess knows, she will help them as they face the trials together an into doing realise they do need each other!!
I voluntarily received and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

I loved lizabeth's and Lone's story! I really enjoyed the older woman younger man scenario as I am about the same age as the female lead. This was truly a tale worth reading I enjoyed the struggle both had ,one being a twin kindred whose brother died in child birth and the other always being left behind for another younger woman. Watching this relationship Unfold was compelling and beautiful. There were a few time I wanted to tel! Lizabeth to stop being an idiot and show the man you love him, which made me realize that she was a woman not used to being loved or thought beautiful, especially by a very hot, gorgeous, sexy warrior that was much younger than her. Both received permission to study Yonnite law for an upcoming trail which brought in a wold other very sexy element to the story. He loved being a mistress and she enjoyed being a teacher. Add in a crazy masochistic make tribe and a greedy Yonnite leader and you have just the right amount of action, adventure, angst and undying love to make a very cold night 🌙a warm sexy dream.

I went into this story really wanting to give it 5 stars. I've been waiting to see what happened with this couple since they were introduced in a previous book. Being an older woman and younger man for a change, had me interested. Their relationship is sweet and endearing, but some of the other events in the book are disturbing. The female mutilation theme was too predominant and stole some of my enjoyment. I also found some of the internal dialogue of each character to be a little repetitive when it came to their reasons why the relationship couldn't work for each of them. We need a new formula for these stories as well since it seems each are becoming a case of a couple that want to be together (but in their minds can't) and then some situation requires them to perform sex related acts against their better judgement which in the end get them together. I love the Kindred series, but had higher hopes for this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I enjoyed reading this book 📚 very much. I had to make a collection of my favourite Evangeline Anderson book's when I finished the book. I loved lots about this book. At the beginning of the book 📚 I didn't like the idea of Lone and Lizbeth being Instructing by Novicer but I got to like idea more book once I got more close to the middle of the book. I liked Lizbeth straight away when I read about when the needing investcasens come out in Evangeline Anderson book's. I would like to read more about Lone and Lizbeth now, I what a book 📚 Two which is a flow on book. I loved the sex scenes again. Maybe at the end of with feelings through like all th easy through reading the book. I was very much suck in to book 📚 from beginning to end. I feel like writing to Sarah Cox about Evangeline Anderson book's to but on her programme in the UK . I would have some great stories to tell Sarah Cox's about Evangeline Anderson book's.

Ok. To be honest the book probably only deserves four stars but I gave it an extra just because I love Lone so very much! He’s my favorite Kindred warrior so far and I can’t see any other ever replacing him. I’m so jealous of Lizabeth! (She totally deserves to have such a god love her after everything she’s been through. Her two prior ex’s were just beyond jerks! Part of the story was steamy, part was nail biting and I still can’t believe that Lone didn’t tear that rat bastard Karx to pieces! Mistress Anarrah & Joren were adorable. I loved every scene they were in. Such a romantic story they had as well. I just wish there had been a little more relationship building between Lone and Lizabeth in the tower on Yonnie 2, as it seemed a bit rushed. Oh, and a few more scenes with Lone’s Dark Twin. He was so sexy! 😉I liked the uniqueness of Lone as a solo twin. I know he and Lizabeth will have a very happy life together. *sigh*

More Kindred Adventures – A Lone Twin!! 3.5 stars

I am a big fan of the Kindred stories. As enjoyable as this adventure was, I felt that the major plot points were repeated many times as if the reader would not comprehend without having it laid out on a platter. Trust your readers to “get the point”.

We have a Twin Kindred, Lone, who no longer has their twin. This should make creating a bond and finding a mate impossible. But trust the goddess to find a way. Lizabeth is a lawyer, traveling to get training on the finer aspects of law in another system. Her assistant accompanies her to protect her in the males dominated areas, and acts as her novice in the Tower. She is afraid to ask Lone for what he wants most to give her. Action, danger, provocative customs and the Kindred love which never wavers.

*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***

Evangeline has done another fantastic job with the Kindred series. This book has just enough adventure to keep you turning the pages, and enough steam to keep you panting. These two have a lot of personal issues to work through and it does take a while...but it’s understanfable. With him being a lone twin Kindred, he’s not supposed to be able to bond anyone to him, but he’s been in love with her from minute one. She’s had her heart broken by men leaving her for younger women and isn’t ready to give him a chance, especially since he’s so much younger. But the Goddess knows best and these two power through the trials and she helps them find a way to be together. I cannot wait to see what Evangeline has in store next!

Kindreds are still hot

I own every Kindred book and anxiously await the next one. The Great Needing has opened up avenues for characters that normally wouldn't connected, which I love. However, I'm over the Yonnie 6/Yonnie universe. I think they have served their purpose and hope they get a comeuppance in court. Also, the Kindred have been calling Earth brides for quite a while....so it shouldn't be news to the women what they seek in brides. Elites and curvy is the rule not the exception and yet every woman doubts and the same with the Kindred. They never communicate til they are neck deep into the latest sexual oddity of whatever planet they get sent to...talk people, just talk.
I love the older woman, younger guy.
I love single mom, second chance at love.
And so, bring on new kindred types

Age is nothing but a number between consenting adults. This book is a powerful example of that. It highlights the ridiculous conditioning women are put through about dating younger men. They get labeled “cougar”. They get shamed and ridiculed. So many, even when true feelings have begun to develop, fight it and end up missing out on something potentially wonderful. I absolutely adored this story. I love the all the different Kindred. I love what they represent, and wish, more than just about anything, that they were real. I’ll finish up why with a quote from this book that will make why crystal clear.

“The love of a Kindred isn’t the same as the love of a human man—it doesn’t waver or fade with time. It’s rock solid—something you can hold onto for life.”

Lizabeth was affected by the sexual needing on the Mother Ship and embarrassed that her assistant had to help her through it. She's older than him and tries to distance herself from him now that it's over. Lone, her assistant has wanted Lizabeth since he met her and was thrilled to help her during the needing. Now that she's pushing him away Lone doesn't know what to do but he's ecstatic when they're sent on a mission together. And of course, they get caught up in some drama on that mission. Lots of hot, sexy drama that made me yell, scream, and laugh at my kindle. This was a great book and I loved it!!!

When is a pound of flesh not a pound of flesh?

Another great uplifting read by Evangeline Anderson! The December/May pairing of Lizbeth, a brilliant but emotionally damaged overly independent lawyer with her protégé Lone, a sexually blocked Twin Kindred whose twin died at birth is a relationship roller coaster. Their connection is forged and tested in extraordinary circumstances on a foray to a World where the roles of men and women are complicated and in flux. Both emerge from their experiences with an added maturity and, needless to say, more complete lives. The sex scenes are captivating and emotionally relatable, with welcome touches of humor.
Very satisfying and enjoyable way to spend a lazy afternoon!

As usual this series doesn't disappoint!!! I'm a big fan of this Kindred series it was nice to see change in story of a older women falling for a younger man, even if I don't consider her age to be a factor in her falling in love in some cases age is nothing but a number. Overall I enjoyed seeing the sexual tension build between Lone and Lizabeth definitely made for a entertaining read. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read. Can't wait to read the next book in the series. I received a free copy via Booksprout I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.

If you have read any of the Kindred Tales then you know what to expect. Lots of heat and one giant Kindred devoted to his female. This story has one woman that is a brilliant lawyer for the Kindred and her assistant is a Kindred. There will be a lot of tension mostly caused by her belief that she is too old for her handsome assistant and it wouldn’t be proper. Thankfully he isn’t about to let that stand. The story really goes fast but is so detailed. I could of read it in one night if I was allowed to by the family. I love how the main characters are so well written. There are some scenes that might be triggers to some. But remember these Tales always have a HEA.

This was without a doubt top of my list of best books I’ve read. I completely understand the warnings at the beginning of the book that the author gives out, which I think need to be given, but this is such a heartwarming read. The characters are so obviously in love and due to the stigma that society puts on us about age gaps, Lizabeth holds back on allowing herself to be loved by Lone.
This book made me cry, I became so emotionally involved in the story, such wonderful writing.
This book was provided to me with no requirement for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
I would definitely recommend this book.

If you have read Evangeline Anderson's books before, then you know what to expect... But this story got in my nerves a little, as the character, Lizabeth is meant to be an educated woman and has live and worked amongst the Kindred for a number of years; but she is so dense to the Kindred and their physiological reactions when they find their mate, even though she knows - she still doesn't know! She keeps banging on that she is too and for her Novice, Lone and she is old enough to be his mother almost constantly throughout the book. She is only 45 years old and make it should like she is 65 and robbing the cradle! I guess Kindreds are only for the young, perky, firm bodies twenty-somethings.

Mind-blowing. That's how you describe the latest instalment in the Kindred Brides. Its full of sizzling sexual tension that explodes on to page and page and can still show an amazing storyline. Lone and Lisabeth are the main characters of the story and are both full of insecurities but are both equally independent. I loved how these characters were able to grow not only as individuals, but as a couple who wanted and needed the same thing. Evangeline Anderson has outdone herself yet again.
