Steve and crew continue riding the wave of vengeance towards the West Coast and the Korean strongholds. Join them while they fight their way through the city of sin, rescue damsels in distress and continue the search for something to tame Daisy's breath. They reunite with old comrades to recover a weapon that may finally give them the vengeance they seek.
Living in a lighthouse as a child led me early to a love of reading. Despite what you may have been told the life of a lighthouse keeper's son is not all Glamour and Parties. There's a lot of time when there really isn't much to do besides wonder if the fog horn has finally made you deaf or watch your dad pull fishing lures out of different parts of people's bodies. (You'd be amazed!)
Two of my favorite houses growing up!
I read. I read a lot. We had a 'reading caterpillar' around the room at my school where every time you read a book you put your name on your color paper and hung it up. The teacher had to give me two colors because it was looking more like a worm than a caterpillar. I devoured CS Lewis before moving on to Tolkien. Reading has continued to be a big part of my life. I've moved into Alternative Realities by guys like Stirling and my guilty pleasure is Zombie novels. I can't seem to get enough of them!
I like reading about the extremes people will go to to survive. The ones who can rise above the rest and keep their sense of right and wrong. When humanity crumbles around them these flawed heroes stand tall and try to make their way. They go from struggling to pay the phone bill to struggling to keep themselves and others alive. I like to see how this either hardens or breaks them. I think these stories speak at a very primal level. I enjoy the journey greatly as I get to tag along seeing how the survivors manage and how the experience forges them into something more than they were.
I look forward to sharing the journey with you all!
I loved it since I wrote it :-) When I write I really do live the adventure right along with whatever or whomever I'm writing about. I really strive to take the movie in my head and put it down on paper.
I'd hate to bump into Steve and Co... 'cause every new person that joins them does not make it! This just gets better and better though. Onto the next book for me!!
Dang, end of the already. Only one more left. I think I forgot to mention among the action, adventure and horror there are spattering humor. I got a full belly laugh a few times but some were just snickers. Steve and crew run smack into the navy LT that met in a previous book.
I'll be sorry when this is over. These lead characters have become friends I'll miss. So much adrenaline though. I'm hoping they get some longer relax time, hot showers, and better food.
I read/watch and listen to a lot of post apocalyptic stories. Not all zombie related but a fair share are. I didn’t know what to expect as I’m not a fan on humor for honors sake but Steve won me over instantly.
At first the AI generated narration didn’t bother me. Then it irked me when it would say words correctly and then screw them up. Turn it dawned on me I’ve fallen for narrators so much so I’ve bought books from authors I’ve never read simply because I love the narrator and that my support/tolerance/mere acceptance of this book would be in the long term jeopardizing their professions.
With all that said. Books are amazing. AI narration does well but wish it had been a human. I enjoyed enough to be willing to give author a look at other book but not if read by AI. One of the best apocalyptic zombie could be true yet not since Feed!
I actually REALLY, REALLY liked book 5. I'm SO glad I kept reading this series. I'm even happier about the weird chain of events that led me to read it in the first place. I HONESTLY would have missed out had I not read it. Also on the awesome score, this book only had one typo that made my brain go nuts.
Wow. I keep waiting for the book to let me down but I can’t put it down long enough to do that. These characters keep getting into worse predicaments and I keep holding my breath as I hope they make it out of them. We need more people like these in the world and it would probably suck a lot less.
Just keeps getting better and better Love the plot and the twists and turns it takes I also enjoy the humanity of these characters and the really make me laugh even when the horrors around them are just too numerous to count Great, great series
Steve and his crew get in the most ridiculous situations. Wilson was right, when he said they don't give up, no matter what. Are they going to be able to rescue the hostages and the nukes?
So excited the next book is the last because I'm anticipating an awesome finale. I have thoroughly and highly recommend this series to everyone who enjoys this genre.
This series started out well and interesting enough to let me good over the desperate need for an editor, not just for basic grammar but also to avoid redundant wording and fix continuity issues. Now that the author has decided to use racist tropes for "allies" of the main character in lieu of actual research, I'm just done. There's a fine line between the quick, fun read that I was looking for and just being a lazy writer, and the author has crossed that line so far it's a dot on the far back horizon.
This was excellent! A really good zombie adventure! As always with this author! Well written, great ideas & interesting story line! I really like the main characters & their amazing luck with which they survive! Amusing when needed, this has everything a great zombie story should have in it! Great! I do recommend this book & this writer!
