When Lord Stephen Gaithwait takes an interest in Joanna Middleton, the beautiful eighteen-year-old runaway soon finds herself held captive at his estate. Before long, she has been stripped bare, put on shameful display, and sternly punished for failing to obey the strict gentleman promptly.
After the unexpected intervention of Dr. Brown, it is decided that in order to assess whether Lord Stephen is the right man to train Joanna, the esteemed doctor will examine her thoroughly and then observe as she is claimed, used, and enjoyed in the most humiliating ways imaginable. By the time her ordeal is over, will Joanna be left in no doubt that her body belongs to her master?
Publisher's Note:Her Shameful Training is the eleventh book of the Victorian Correction series. The books of the Victorian Correction series are stand-alone works which can be read in any order. Emily Tilton, whose books have hit number one on Amazon in six different erotica categories, wishes she could live out her fantasies of submission the way her characters do.
Emily's erotica is a narrative version of her nearly lifelong quest to reconcile her submissive erotic orientation with her ethics. She writes erotic romance, but her books are always frankly and unashamedly about sex, because writing about sex helps her understand that fundamental part of her life better. She hopes maybe it does the same for her readers.
Over the many years since Emily became aware of her sometimes unbearable craving for spanking, ravishment, and all the shameful things that go with it, she has tried to come to terms with that craving in more ways than she can count. The first of the ways was by reading, voraciously, every piece of BDSM erotica she could find.
Eventually, she read "Story of O." As is reflected throughout her work, it changed her life, though the change has been gradual, and continues to this day. The idea that other women might share the lusts she has by turns been ashamed of and defiantly proud of, that a woman like the real Pauline Réage might write so beautifully of those lusts, and work them out so thoroughly and even pitilessly on a character, put Réage's famous pencil in her right hand. Or, to put it in the terms of EXPLORATIONS, which she considers her magnum opus, it put her left hand on the keyboard of her laptop and her right hand in her lap, if you know what she means. Emily started to write spanking stories.
I feel I need to firmly state that this is NOT a sweet little historical romance with a smattering of spanking and a lot of romance.
It's ok if that is what floats your boat and what you enjoy reading. However that is not what the talented, and very naughty, Emily Tilton writes.
She writes dark, boundary pushing and very erotic stories. There is very little romance but plenty of steam and I, along with many others. am unapologetic in my love of reading such kinkiness. If humiliation, unfair punishment and kidnapping sound like potential triggers, then this may not be the author for you. I found that once I let go of polite societal norms/expectations I very much enjoyed this book.
At best, this is full of dubious consent, tipping over into non-consent on several occasions. However that non-consent does not present itself as rape, nor is it an overall unpleasant experience for the heroine, or this reader. There isn't a great deal of romance, though there is a believable bond and emerging connection between the H and h. This, in case you hadn't already guessed, is a book to get your jollies off to, and it succeeds in that role extremely well.
Joanna is the orphan bastard daughter of an aristocratic father and one of his household maids. She is degraded, humiliated, punished and sexually awakened in this scorching hot read. She spends most of the book stark naked, all her 'holes' are used in 'the pursuit of pleasure for her Master' and her bottom is thoroughly punished in a variety of ways. She is also shared with other men, in the presence of her Master, Lord Stephen Gaithwait.
If you're not sure, read the 2, 3 and 4 star reviews of other books by this author - that's where you get the best idea of how good a book is and whether it's for you. Please don't read it either without knowing what's in store for you, or despite knowing you won't enjoy it, AND THEN LEAVE A BAD REVIEW - that isn't fair. Particularly when the blurb states she is claimed, used, and enjoyed in the most humiliating ways imaginable
Whilst Amazon are very happy selling you a butt plug to stick up your derriere, or a paddle to spank an arse with, they, in their puritanical madness have an issue with saucy books. (Pot, kettle, black, Mr J Bezos!!!!!). HEAVEN FORBID SOMEONE SHOULD WRITE ABOUT IT. HOW DISGUSTING...... THE VERY THOUGHT IS JUST TOO DEPRAVED TO CONSIDER, ISN'T IT? (Yes that is sarcasm if you were wondering). In order that their books don't get hidden, or worse banned, by the Zon, they have to use subtle pointers in their blurbs to enlighten readers as to the contents within. Hence the need to check out reviews when you see clues/hints in both the title and blurb.
Quick erotic read by a skilled author. "A copy of this book was provided by Booksprout with no requirement for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."
Joanna has spent her childhood in a secure and happy home although her parentage is unknown to most. At age 18 she is given into the employ of a strict and uncaring mistress. She is spanked daily and chastised because of the circumstances of her birth and jealousy of her beauty. When she is kidnapped by a nobleman and his servant a request is sent to Dr. Brown to oversee the circumstances of the results of her confinement.
There's a lot to love in this book. The language is extremely colorful and what borders on rape scenes and punishment so if this kind of things offends you, leave well alone. However, if you can handle all that, then your in for a very hot ride. Set in Victorian times, this book may well change your perceptions of how they lived. I was expecting old school Victorian values, of girls remaining chaste and a virgin until such time as they got married or girls became prostitutes, but never men "training" young girls in all ways sexual, including spanking/caning them when they don't submit, all before they got married and men sharing their women with their friends an even staff. I found it very surprising they way Joanne very quickly actually enjoyed the way she was treated and despite the "training" and the somewhat cruel treatment actually desired Lord Stephen and to use their words "spent" many many times. The downside was the very abrupt ending and absolutely nothing on what happens with Joanne and Lord Stephen in the end.
This it the 11th book in the series. Joanna is a runaway and when Lord Stephen finds her, he holds her captive at his estate. Dr. Brown comes to determine if Stephen is the right man to train her. This read may not be for everyone it does include spankings and sexual scenes of a dubious consent. Entertaining read.
Another wonderful addition to this series Dr Brown counsels’ people on erotic problems they might have in their marriage, relationship or even more personal reasons, hi is filled with creative remedies to their problems it is certainly similar to previous books however it is a great read and being a fan of this writer, she never leaves the reader wanting. However every book has to be judged in its own right and I found this to be another totally sit down and read in one sitting and this book is set in a Victorian setting, her attention to details is always very precise the characters and the settings hold you as a reader totally enthralled and once I started to read I was unable to put the book down until I knew the end. I voluntarily received and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
This was the first Emily Tilton book I have read, and it was not quite what I thought it would be. If you like the degradation of women, especially if it is imposed on them by men in the elite stratosphere of society, that these women have no rights, that they are to be used as the men wish, well, actually "trained" as the title says, to fulfill the men's sexual gratifications then you will like this book. It is even difficult to feel sympathy for the poor girl highlighted in the book as there is very little character development in the story. And much of the writing could have been used to do that instead of the droning on, at times, of the language of the period. I assume that is what the writer was attempting to accomplish.

3.5 stars I have mixed emotions about Emily Tilton's Her Shameful Training. Sex scenes don't bother me, but forced sex scenes seem a bit beyond the pale. Joanna is an illegitimate servant who serves as a companion to a shrewish older woman. She is corrected by being spanked, often, for her "sins" and her illegitimacy which is hard to understand. She runs away and is kidnapped (his words) by Lord Stephen who plans to train her and share her. The sharing wasn't good because she was forced. She didn't ever seem to be a willing participant. If she was a willing participant and the sharing seemed loving that would have been better for me as a reader. I will concede this isn't my type of story.

This is the latest installment in the Victorian Correction series.
If you have read any of the previous works by this author, then you know what to expect. For those that have not, you will get a very well written story with lots of steamy sex, including lots of D/S and punishment scenes. The action is always very well described and very erotic, although in this series you will have to deal with some formal rambling proper English as well.
This series is my favorite by this author, and this book is no exception. It does stray into more dubcon areas at times, which might be disturbing to some, so keep that in mind. For me, however, it was a highly enjoyable read.
Highly recommended.

Miss Joanna Middleton wakes from a dream, or so she thinks, only to find herself with no clothes and her life has suddenly become a nightmare. She's been told by her kidnapper that from now on she will be trained as a consort/wife of an unknown - wealthy man. There are 2 problems to this scenario. One, Miss Joanna doesn't want to be the mistress of a wealthy man unknown to her and number two, Lord Gaithwait now wants to keep the young Miss all to himself. This is the story of how these two (kind of) get to known each other on a very personal basis. Be forewarned some scenes are extremely HOT !! Ms. Tilton doesn't leave ANYTHING to the imagination. She does tell it like it is !!
Before you consider this read, you really must heed the warnings given by the author. This is not a hot steamy romance.
Emily Tilton novel is along the same as the rest of this series but it is hard to see why this young lady was chosen for training other than the whim of men and there is no clear outcome for Joanna.
This is not my favourite piece of work by this author, but it is typical. If you like her other work then I am sure you will enjoy this.

This is the first book in the series I've read. I agree with the blurb in that it read like a standalone. I thought it was good but I had a hard time getting into the story and thought it started out a little slow. I also had a hard time making a connection with the characters. Despite that, I stuck with it, and am glad I did. However, this will not be one I will read again. *I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Wow, this is book 11 in the series and I’m only now reading my first one! I like the way this author writes, being a fictional historical story, it was important to get the reader on the same wave length and I think she managed to do that. There are dubious consent issues here, so if that is an issue for you, then you have been warned! The plot was interesting and as a first book for me this was a great introduction to the series. Lord Stephen kidnaps runaway Joanna to take her and train her to be his concubine. I did not like the lack of sympathy for her situation. She was basically an orphan who was then abused by her employer, Mrs.Mund. Kidnapped and sexually assaulted by Stephen. Then she is put on display for further use and really abuse in front of an audience. And then the story just abruptly ends with no word of the future with Stephen. This could've been much better.
Her Shameful Training (Victorian Correction Book 11) By Emily Fulton 4 Stars ****
Joanna and Lord Stephen's story is whoa!!! It's Insanely Hot Flash Worthy!! It sucks you into a world where you don't know if you want to hang your head in shame or grab a ice cube to cool yourself off. Lol.
Fun, Sensual, Wow, Can't believe what I'm reading !!
I have voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Reviewer for Nook Books and More Blog.
