Double Play #2

Going, Going, Goner

Rate this book
Savannah Gavinwood is all grown up. My buddy’s twin sister, the one that always made eyes at me when we were younger, is now a tempting, fiery woman, too irresistible for her own good. Open bar, mixed with her sinful body in a bridesmaid dress, and we finally cross that line at her brother’s wedding.

I have a daughter to worry about though, and it has to end there. Except it doesn't, I can't escape Savannah Gavinwood, even if I tried. I'm the leader of homeruns on the field and this little firecracker is making me wanna hit one out of the park with her. “Goner” is coming for you Savvy.

Jackson “Goner” Turner, the boy I secretly loved from afar for years before he broke my heart, is back. Too much tequila and a bitter divorce causes me to give into my desires. Thinking our quickie at my brother Gabriel's wedding will end there, life always has other plans. Cue my asshole ex-husband and the bomb of the century. Everything is not always as it seems. Life-1 Savannah-0.

I was given this book to me by the author for an honest review. This is book 2 of this series. It's about Savannah and Jackson. Savannah is Gabriel's sister. He is from book one. In this book Gabriel and Charlotte just got married. Savannah is in the wedding with Jackson a pro ball player who has been friends with Savannah and Gabriel since they were young kids. Jackson has been crazy about Savannah since the time she threw a ball at him and hit him in the nuts. Savannah drinks too much at the wedding and ends up in the bathroom having sex with Jackson. This is what their life entails. I loved this book just as much as the first. Look out for book 3 coming in 2019. Hellas story called Ballers with Benefits.

After reading the first book Curveball my expectations was high. But of course this book did not disappoint, and it didn't hurt that Gabriel and Charlotte was such a big part of this book too.

This is a sweet easy second chance romance story. There was no major angst in it and it was just such an easy read that made me relax and smile.

Savanne is an awesome woman with a heart of gold. She has so many hidden treasures that I fell in love with every time she showed me a new one. She loves so big and feels so much I just wanted to take her hand and show her that everything will be alright and life will get better.

Pare her with Jackson that is just a sweet family man and the perfect book boyfriend and you have a match made in heaven.
This was the perfect follow up from Curveball (book 1) I loved how it was not as heavy as the first one but you still got all the good vibes and happy moments in this on and of course there are some moments in here where I wanna shake and yell a little at the main characters but that is what makes a book good.

So find a sweet reading spot in your home, get a glass of wine and then just sit back, relax and enjoy all the sweet love Nicole Rodrigues is throwing your way.

Going, Going, Goner was amazing! Savannah and Jackson’s story has drama, sweetness but tons of passion. This story was really good. Savannah is sweet and sassy. Fights hard but loves harder! Jackson is romantic and persistent. He doesn’t stop until he gets what he wants! I was given a ARC for a honest review.

5 stellar stars out of the ball park for Going, Going, Goner

Fellow indie author, Nicole Rodrigues has hit another one out of the park…

Ladies, meet your next book boyfriend- the irresistible, Jackson Turner. Be ready to swoon!

After an impromptu drunken bathroom quickie with this gorgeous stud, Savannah Gavinwood is damned and determined not to let another man get the best of her. She’s the victim of a devastating divorce and she and Jackson have known each other a long time…and have always had a thing for one another, but after her brother’s wedding she’s anxious to let him back into her office… let alone her pants, but this smooth-talking slugger aims to prove to the woman he’s always wanted that he’s out for more than just a one-night stand, despite how things went that night.

Jackson Turner is no stranger to abandonment himself. He’s a single father who has always put his daughter first and never one to let his desires outweigh doing what’s right. Though, he can’t get seem to get Savannah out of his mind or off his heart and he starts to break down her walls one by one.

But Savannah has some secrets she’s not eager to share so easily. She’s strong and sassy and not planning to be blindsided again, like she was by her jerk of an ex-husband but Jax makes it so easy to love him. Jackson is completely swoon-worthy and dotes on his ‘Savvy’ princess. He’s amazing, thoughtful and absolutely adorable.

Will these two be able to overcome their baggage and embrace their futures? I can say with certainty that you, the reader, are gonna be the ‘goner’ in this funny, steamy, lovable romance novel.

I LOVED this book. I loved Jackson, I loved Savannah, and I loved that we caught up with Gabe and Charlotte, Bella and Devin and got to meet some new adorable characters.

Be prepared to laugh, cry, oh, and did I say swoon ;-)?

As much as I enjoyed Curveball, this book in the Double Play series was even better and I am super excited to hear Bella’s story in the next book.

I can’t say enough good things about “Going, Going, Goner” by Nicole Rodrigues. We get to learn more about Savannah Gavinwood and see more of Gabriel, Charlotte, and their kids.
Savannah is a strong and relatable female character who has had some really tough breaks since we saw her last.
But Jackson Turner will change all that. The two of them together are HOT!
If you enjoyed the first book in the Double Play Series, you’re not going to want to miss this one!

This is the second book by Nicole Rodrigues that I have read, and I was incredibly lucky to have recieved an advance reading copy of Going, Going, Goner. In return I will be giving my honest review.

There isn't a lot to say other than I truly I loved this story, so much so I suffered from the book hangover lol. Nicole did a beautiful job at telling Savannah and Jacksons story and I thoroughly enjoyed every word of it.

I always appreciate a strong and independant heroine who doesn't take shit. That's exactly what you get with Savanah. She is such a beautiful and caring person and I was soo happy for her when she got her perfect ending. She is definitely one of my favourite characters from this series. Jackson is so swoony and an awesome dad, he was an amazing male character and perfect for Savannah - as much as he was an asshat at the start of their story (If you have read book 1 you would know what I am talking about) I like how Savanah didn't just let him off the hook and made him work for her, he definitely stepped up and I absolutely loved that. It was also so good to see all our favs from book 1 in here too!

All in all this book had everything I love in a good romance book, you will not be disappointed. Can't wait for book 3 ♡

At first I didn't think I was going to like this story but it quickly got me sucked right in with some plot twists and angst from former husband. Wow. The romance was quick with her forgiving him as he didn't even try to date her but Chase her into sex. Or at least that's how it felt to me....

So I'm going to go with average read here.

I think I have said this before, but Nicole Rodrigues has become one of my favorite authors. She continues to pull me in and keep me coming back for more. Going, Going, Goner is book 2 in her Double Play series and it was SO GOOD.

I don’t want to spoil this for anyone since it doesn’t come out in about a month, but I can tell you that you will love Savannah and Jackson. They have known each other for a while and have had chemistry, but the timing was never right.

Jackson is a professional baseball player who knows how to hit a home-run. He is sweet, sexy, and a great father. Savannah is a hard-working woman who hasn’t had the best experience when it comes to relationships.

When these two meet again, the sparks are off the charts. The attraction is still there, but their lives are already complicated. Will they take a risk? Who will make the first move?

Rating:
I give Going, Going, Goner 5 stars. It was a memorable sports romance that had lovable characters, a great plot, and was sexy in all the right places!

Nicole! You did it with this one! You hit a home run! I absolutely loved the connection between Savvy & Jackson. They were like a match that never stopped igniting. The Flame just grew and grew and combusted major during their steamy moments. I did feel like Savvy needed to be more organized with her personal life and medical life. Second and third opinions are usually the route. In the end I was happy for the second chance between them and their journey of love.

SUCH A GOOD BOOK!!!

I absolutely love Savannah and Jackson's story! This is extremely heart wrenching with so many twists and turns that show up and threaten to ruin both of these kind hearted people. Savannah has been through so much and she knows what she wants, Jackson Turner is definitely something she would like to have, but he also threatens what she really wants as well.

Nicole Rodrigues knows how to write a freaking steamy love scene-- talk about setting my kindle on fire!!

I loved the story, the characters, and the heat!! <3

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 STARS

This was one of my most anticipated reads for 2019 since the blurb reveal. Even though Going, Going, Goner is the second instalment in the Double Play Series it can be read as a standalone. This is the first book that I’ve read from Nicole Rodrigues and she did not disappoint. This a MUST read second chance romance!

I was drawn to both main characters, Savannah Gavinwood and Jackson “Goner” Turner. Savannah is a woman who is determined to move on from her divorce and not be defeated by her scheming ex-husband. She shows such strength even when life continues to throw her curveballs. 😉

Jackson has been so focused on his career and raising his teenage daughter. But when he and Savannah reconnect after hooking up at his best friend’s/her twin brother’s wedding, he realizes a little too late he may want more and has to work to get what he wants.

“Oh, believe me, I'm definitely a goner.”

I’d like to thank the author for generously providing me an ARC of this book. Going, Going, Goner by Nicole Rodrigues will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ELITE.

Going, Going, Goner is the second book in Nicole Rodrigues Double play series... If you haven't read the first one, I advise you too read that one first! (You don't have too, but you should!) I didn't know the second one was due out yet! So I was very happy to be able to get an ARC of this book, as I loved the first book in this series so much!

Jackson "Goner" Turner is a very sexy but persistent character who always gets what he wants! and Savannah is a very hard-working sweet and sassy women! Which I loved about her. The timing was just never right for them both. Savannah gets stuck in a shitty relationship that ends in a horrible divorce and Jackson gets a baby dropped at his door. But will it be their time now? or will more things get in their way?

I really loved how this story unfolded, and it was great to still hear about the characters, Gabriel and Charlotte from the first book Curveball. It was full of lots of drama and great chemistry. Nicole always seems to find a way to pull you in and keep you turning the pages! I didn't want to put the book down, but unfortunately work gets in the way! Grrr 😂

Lastly the ending.... seriously what are you doing to me!! It was so beautiful and had me tearing up! I can honestly say that this Author is one of my favorites!

So pleaseeee get reading this book, you wont be disappointed.

Thank you once again Nicole for a fantastic book! Look forward to reading more by you.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review

Savvy had a crush on her twin brother's teammate, Jackson and the day after the both decide to start dating and acting on their attraction one of Jackson's hookups let's him know that he is going to be a daddy. Savvy walks away so Jax can focus on being a dad. 16 years and a crappy marriage later Savvy and Jax are thrust into each other's world again when Savvy comes home to start up a new sports marketing company. Neither one of them have the strength to stay away this time. Especially in the bathroom at her brother's wedding.
Savvy and Jax were fun. Savvy is loving, sweet and sassy. I loved how she whole heartedly loved Jax’s daughter and how she took her under her wings, gave her a job to help set her straight. Warmed my heart. The whole secret thing about “him” was kind of annoying. I get not telling Jax at first but why keep it a secret from the readers? That just irked me. Jax was an amazing father – loved that he always put Lacey first. But when he finally realized that he can put Lacey first and still have Savvy he was persistent in getting what he wanted, and it was sexy to see. They were hot hot hot. I am usually not a fan of the second chances but this one was fun and done really well plus it has one of my favorite tropes in it so I loved it.

I am voluntarily reviewing this ARC.

I started this book, so excited, because these characters are amazing, and the last book was really, really good. I was not disappointed. Savannah is Gabe’s sister. She and Jackson have, history. They were friends, and for a brief moment, something more, until a one night stand shows up pregnant ending the possibility of more for them. Fast forward 16 years and Savannah is getting out of a messy divorce and Jackson wants another chance. These two have so many obstacles to overcome, but their love handles it all. I fell in love with not only Jackson and Savannah, but the whole gang...Jackson’s daughter, and a few other surprise people, as well as all my favorite’s from the last book. The chemistry...let’s just say, it was 5 degrees where I live, and I was fanning myself. This author can write a smoking hot love scene.
This book was amazing! This series is amazing! I need the next book like now!!!
I give this book

Going Going Goner by Nicole Rodrigues
Double Play Series #2

I was given the opportunity to have an ARC in return for an honest review

This book was brilliant. It was really well written and I loved that we got to see the characters from the first book in the series again. Going Going goner is a sports romance/second chance lovers all in one, which gives you both characters point of views. Jackson was always the one that got away for Savannah, but despite having a rough few year and an ex-husband who she wishes would disappear, when she runs in to him again at Charlotte and Gabriel’s wedding she knows what she wants and after a few cheeky drink she get it. What she isn’t expecting is for Jackson reaction. Jackson has always had a thing for savannah but just when he thought he had her back then he finds out he’s going to be a father and knows that his daughter has to come first even if it hurts him in the process. After running in to her at the wedding and hurting her all over again he knows that he has to make it up to her because he’s finally realises that he needs savannah. They are both in for a bumping ride but if they can stick together then there happily ever after is possible.

Going, Going, Goner is the second book in the Double Play series and it follows Savannah, who is Gabe’s sister, and Jackson. I was so excited to read this book and it did not disappoint. Though, this is a second book of the series it can be read as a standalone but I would highly recommend reading Curveball first so you have a little bit of the background to Savannah, plus Charlotte and Gabriel are totally awesome.

Savannah and Jackson of years and years worth of history with each other. They had a start of something, until Jax got a lovely little surprise of a daughter. Savannah moved on and married the biggest jerk on the planet, thankfully she divorced him. Jax and Savvy still want each other, but Savannah is afraid if getting hurt again. Will these two be able to make it work?

This story was hot, it was sweet and I’ll admit I have shed a tear or two. I love Savannah. She is one strong woman especially after everything that she had to deal with when it came to her stupid ex. There aren’t enough words for how much I disliked that man. Jackson Turner is one sexy single dad. He definitely has a sweet side and a strong alpha male side that any woman would love. Of course, I loved that we got more of Charlotte and Gabe, because I loved those two, plus Bella and Devin.

Y'all… this book.
I loved this like 100000 times more than book one. (Not that I hated book one.. I just didn't like one aspect of the story that lasted the entire book... *eek face*)
Jax and Savvy were HOT! Like "drop a bucket of ice water on me" HOT!
Give me a baseball player.
Give me a single dad.
Give me a second chance meets frenemies to lovers.
And I. AM. THERE! SOLD! Give it to me now!
That was this book. So good!

And can I just say that this is a prime example of why you don't just read one book by an author. One book doesn't define them. Read more, y'all. Don't be a "one-and-done reader."
Great job, Nicole! I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

You all know that I LOVE a heroine that doesn’t take any shit, who is strong and will fight for what she believes in... that is exactly the type of heroine you get in Going, going, goner with Savannah. Not only that but she is caring and sweet.

Jackson... swoon. Yes he may be a bit of an asshole sometimes but savannah made him work for what he wanted and I loved that.

No spoilers from me but I will tell you that this is A sweet second chance romance that you should read if you love a strong heroine and a swoony hero.

Jackson and Savannah’s story is a second chance romance. Savannah is the twin sister of Gabriel and Jackson was his teammate. Things started to heat up between them but took a turn after just one kiss. Fast forward some years and Jackson runs into Savannah again at her brothers wedding.
Would one night be enough or would the past come back to hurt them?! I have to say that Jackson and Savannah’s story is my favorite. Mainly because Savannah is such a badass!! I just loved them together!!

There aren’t words for how much I loved this book! I was crying sad and happy tears by the end and just wanted to hug Nicole’s neck for such an amazing ending!
We got to meet Jacks and Sav in Curveball and now we know their story.
Savannah we knew was a fiercely loyal hard working sister to Gabriel. We didn’t know all the heart break, hurt, and disappointment she was hanging on too. The things this woman does to help people and show them how much she loves them is intense. Jackson slips up and does his best to show Savannah how she should be treated if she’d just give in and let him. But he’s also got his own baggage and issues and abs!
These two have the most romantic sexy story I’ve read in a bit. Plus there’s secrets and some are awful and done will melt your heart. Right to the very last page you will be cheering for jacks and Sav! You just killed it with this one Nicole!

THIS IS my second read by Nicole Rodrigues and to be honestly i waited for this book after reading the first book Curveball. in the first book, you will see a glimpse of Savanah and Jackson “Goner” Turner. Savannah loved Jackson when she was a young woman but they didn't end up together "you will know why" this is a lovely second chance romance story ( second romance story aren't my thing, to be honest) but I loved this book so much.
the main characters have a chemistry that will blow you away. BE PREPARED JACKSON HAS A BIG DIRTY MOUTH

I’m a Goner!!!

The abundance of hotties in this series you could and will fall for🥰 the steam, the camaraderie, sassy women, hot ball players.
A lot of the storyline in this was predictable but for me, it didn’t ruin the book but neither did it stop me from wanting to give a few characters a good slap.
Now on to book 3 and Bella’s story. 🤞
