Vyr Daye is learning that not every happily ever after works in a straight line. He was supposed to be okay after he escaped shifter prison and found his mate, but for the past six months, his dragon has felt broken, and has an undeniable instinct to burn and claim the entire world. Four mountain ranges in six months and he’s losing all control, and dragging his Sons of Beasts Crew, and his mate Riyah, straight to hell. It was never the other dragons the world had to worry about. It was always the Red Dragon inside of him. And now he must find a way to save the world from himself.

Riyah Daye has been hurt and spiraling, and for months, she’s watched her mate do the same thing. But where she leaned on her Crew, Vyr distanced himself from everything he loved. She has a feeling she knows what’s going on, but she’s going to have to shake everything up to get the dragon’s attention...even if it means fighting fire with fire.

Sometimes a man doesn’t get the happily ever after he wants.
Sometimes he gets the one he needs.

Lions and dragons and bears, oh my! Don’t miss this short story from the bestselling Daughters of Beasts and the Sons of Beasts series.

It's not often a book makes me cry tears of laughter then tears of sadness then laughter again! This story finished off the Sons of Beasts and daughters of Beasts series perfectly. It also makes way for Tarian which have been mentioned a few times in the previous series. Well done T, I can see why Vyr was calling you out for a bit more. If by any chance we could have an anthology of life according to Nox, this would be a treat!

I thought maybe I was finally getting to a point where I didn't start ugly crying at the end of every book T.S. Joyce writes. I was WRONG - all the feels. I loved it ( even though I generally hate crying) this book hit close to home for more than one reason and at the end it was happy tears for the red dragon.

Reading this one makes Vyr's actions in the last couple of books make better sense. I hate what he lost, but like that he is trying to be better, that he is letting his mate and crew in. I also love that he approached the Daughter of Beasts and make nice with them all. It led to a very happy ending with a present so precious and wanted.

"There's good and bad in all of us, but some have to fight harder against the bad. I want those to succeed so at the end of my life, I can look back and not just see the fires I set. I want to be able to look back on the fires I put out, too."

Happy tears for Vyr the Red Dragon

The Red Dragon has been lost in a angry sorrow filled haze. His mate Rilah has had to deal with her own sorrow on top of everyone else's. However, when something magical comes their way they are finally able to start healing.

I rounded this up to three stars because of the ending.
I think there should be some sort of trigger warning about child loss. They lost their twin unborn sons. From what I understood that they were struggling with getting him out of prison but this was more of the reason for the struggle and it was not something I really wanted to read about (they lose the boys before the book starts so everything is in past tense with that). I only finished because I wanted to see the end and may have skimmed a bit to get there
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

I knew before I opened this book that it would hurt to read, I loved Vyr in his story and knew that only the deepest of pains could pull him away from his lady. I wasn’t wrong, there are very dark parts to this story, but that TSJ humor makes you literally laugh through tears.
I love that I get these on KU and I really am loving every book I read. Highly recommend.

This one had me in tears at the end. I love these stories. I think Joyce does a great job bring these characters to life through humor and personality. All of the stories are wonderful, but some of them, like this one, just bring forth the water works.
Well written as always! RECOMMENDED

I liked this book a lot, and I'm excited for the new Tarian series. I think. I like how things happened in this book, but I want Vyr and Riyah to have biological children together at some point. I know families can be families without this, but I really want them to, although I really like what happened in this book with that. Lots of sadness but happiness, too.

Vyr’s story pulls at the heart strings. We’ve given an emotional ride that’s filled with laughter and tears. Riyah is string, stands ger ground more often than not especially with Vyr. Who doesn’t enjoy a Polar Bear and Dragon romance?.

If I could give this book a 10 Star I would. It was amazing and had me crying so hard, I’m going to go back and read the red dragon books just because they’re amazing!

Holy dragon this was one of the most emotional stories I have read by TS Joyce and I have read almost all of them. The pain that Riya and Vyr endured was absolutely heartbreaking. But to be given such a beautiful gift to treasure in the form of Brayden was heartwarming. Absolutely loved this story!

Did the beginning feel a little rough, disjoined and choppy to anyone else? It smoothed out but the first few chapters we're odd... Just me?

Shattered

Shattered and put together like Kintsugi( the Japanese pottery repaired with gold).. is how I describe New Vyr! This story takes a couple we thought were settled and shatters their story only to beautifully rebuild it. You will cry along with Vyr and Riyah but the journey is so very worth it. Your heart will break for them and their crew but as always TS bonds them together for the best. Her stories just get better and the characters grip your soul

OMG

Wow now I understand. The Red Dragon took me on an emotional ride. Nox was funny, but he’s his daddy’s son and hold so much insight, and of course the son of Kong always the rational one. The sons of beast and their mates mix in those crazy lions and daughters of beasts and you got one hell of book.

I love every single book this author has written. In fact, if she wrote on the sidewalk I’d rush to read it! Her shifters are courageous and funny but human too. I have always had a soft spot for Vry and always will. Do NOT miss this series.

Will the Red Dragon Burn them all; or will he finally find the anchor they all need to survive?

OMG!
Okay I've been on plenty of roller-coaster like rides with T.S. Joyce's books over the years; especially where this multi-series group of books have been concerned! I've Laughed, Groaned, Cursed, Sighed; and yes, Even Cried both happy and sad tears plenty too! This one; This one took my completely by surprise! I'd started wondering why Vyr kept seemingly popping up here and there throughout the Sons of Beasts series and then The Daughters of Beasts as well till the attack he made against the Lion crew who had first gone after the rest of his family. Vry had marked them a lost cause and condemned them to death and he was dead set to implement that punishment and Hell with anyone who tried to stop him! Yet, they did; try and mostly succeed but at a cost to not only his crew who were already reeling from a loss none of us readers even knew about..not till this book that is; a Loss Every Parent fears and dreads; a Loss that's been known to rip marriages apart and tear families apart too; a Loss that is Hard pressed to come back from too for many, at least without a strong Family GROUP (or should I say; Crew, well Crews in this case) to help them heal! (Yeah no, no spoilers, hints but no actual spoilers! This one's one that needs to be read because yeah the emotions Will hit ya, and hard but; in the end those tears will become joyful, that I promise ya'!) That Anchor they so desperately needed to save them, well that little Anchor with the Heart of a Dragon and Blood of Beastly Brawlers comes in the end, all thanks to one other super Beastly daemon of a Brawler no less; Grimm! Yep Grimm and his sweet grandmother Rose no less! She held the answer to finally healing the pain, the loss that was eating away at the great Red Dragon and when he saw that bright green eyed little beast who didn't back away from staring down his own silver eyed self; he draped it up tight in his arms and knew..Everything would be okay and if those others who thought they could lay claim to HIS little Green Eyed Beast of a Brawler with the Heart of a Dragon; well we all Know just what that Red Dragon will do don't we?? "BURN THEM....Burn them All and eat their ashes!" All to protect what is finally His and his Mate's once and for all!

Yep, this one's one hell of a roller-coaster ride folks but so well worth every moment!! I know this won't be the last we read on Vry, The Sons of Beasts or the Daughters of Beasts either, not for a while and especially where Vyr and Grimm are concerned! Changes are a commin'; there's a New Alpha in the works fighting to turn a cruel heartless Lion pride into a pride that can be proud of who they are once again, only he's got enemies, enemies who want to keep the old ways, want to Keep making more killer brawlers like Grimm! Will he be able to gain control or ultimately call the Red Dragon and tell him, The Mountain and all on it are Yours to Burn; taking only those who want the change with him? Guess we'll know once her New series first book comes out!
Till then, Vyr's gonna watch, gonna wait, gonna Protect and he's gonna teach and train his new anchor to be Better, Stronger but also keep that lil' green Eyed beast from become just like the sire who gave life to the little beast and also from being used like the weapon Grimm had been turned into when The Reaper was made!

Reviewed at Shifter Haven

Even among all the crews, the characters, the stories that create Damon’s Mountains universe there are still some characters who will forever stand out for me. The men and women who come together in Sons of Beasts is such an individual series for me. I will always cheer on, root for and back the underdogs, the misfits, the ones that have no one but others just as badly broken as themselves to call “crew”, “family”. New Vyr is the final story in the Daughters of Beasts series, yet it is just as important as a final story for the Sons of Beasts as well for it is together that there will be healing for these two unique crews.

There had to be a reason why Vyr’s Red Dragon was so out of control. As it stood, it wasn’t Kane’s dragon who was the End of Days, it was Vyr’s. This story tells us, shows us why… and it is as heartbreaking as you can possibly imagine. I won’t go into details for you deserve to experience this on your own… but there is one scene where tears were simply streaming down my face. That’s a powerful story, one where I can care enough about characters on a page to cry real-life tears as though my heart is breaking. That is the gift that T. S. Joyce gave us in New Vyr… the chance to know why and to feel so deeply.

I absolutely loved this combined story of the characters from Sons of Beasts and Daughters of Beasts. If you’ve followed this series (or the entire universe) then New Vyr is a must read. And to T. S. Joyce – thank you for letting Vyr speak to us and show us his heart. What a helluva story.

We’ll also get a segway to the next series… and it fits so perfectly with this story and what we already know. I’m definitely keeping my eyes open for release day.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Moving story about healing

T.S. Joyce has written a very satisfying end to this series by bringing together the stories of both the Sons of Beasts and the Daughters of Beasts. Vyr Daye is the most powerful shifter in the paranormal world created by Ms. Joyce. He not only carries the enormous power of the Red Dragon that he inherited from his once immortal full-blooded dragon father Damon Daye, but also bears immense telekinetic and psychic abilities inherited from his psychic grizzly mother Clara Daye. Almost from the day he was born, Vyr has fought hard to do the impossible - control the Red Dragon. At the end of his story in Son of the Dragon, Vyr appears to be settled as Alpha in a devoted crew with a good witch mate who adores him. The future looks happy and stable. Yet in the Daughters of Beasts series we start seeing that all is not well with him. His actions around the Rogue Crew in his mountains demonstrate that his dragon is out of control, but the reader doesn't know why until you find out in this book that he and his mate Riyah have suffered a terrible loss. In addition, hopes they had for the future have been dashed. We follow Vyr through the excruciating pain of loss as he slowly climbs toward a better future with the help and love of his mate, crew, and the Rogue Crew. It's a story worth reading.

All of the books in this series have brought me to tears as broken shifters discover the love and belonging they never thought possible. This novella is a delightful return to a shifter world that I love, full of memorable characters. Start from the beginning of the Damon's mountains characters to benefit from getting to know the world T.S. Joyce has created.

Inner Battle!!!

Vyr Daye didn't get the happily ever after he thought he was getting after he escaped shifter prison with the help of his crew and mate. For months now his Dragon has been restless, he wanted to claim and burn everything. He's dragging his loved ones into chaos along the way.

Riyah Daye has been hurting more months, her mate was spiraling out of control and distancing himself from his loved ones. She knew deep down in her soul what was going on with Vyr but she needed his inner animal to pay attention. She had a plan, one that would set things a blaze.

Vyr and Grim becoming friends was well done. They respected each other, monster to monster. I loved how they handled whatever was going between them. They saved one another.

Riyah was right by Vyr's side when he decided he needed to claim more mountains. They both lost so much and they were grieving in their own way. She was doing everything in her power to save the man she loved as well as their friends' lives.

After the huge loss Vyr, Ryah and the crew suffered, they finally were able to find a bright light at the end of the tunnel.

NEW VYR is the fifth installment in T. S. Joyce's DAUGHTERS OF BEASTS series. OMG what an emotional rollercoaster ride, this book had me crying, laughing, screaming and then crying all over again. It was a perfect way to conclude both the SONS OF BEASTS & the DAUGHTERS OF BEASTS series. Magnificent job by Ms Joyce! 5++++

This is the second book that features Vyr and Riyah as the main characters. Their first book concentrated on them meeting and becoming a couple and is entitled Son of the Dragon from the Sons of Beasts series. I started reading this one but realized I was missing their back story. I therefore stopped to read the other series first (it’s only three books). I personally believe you should read the Sons of Beasts series before starting this book because you’ll know and understand the dynamics of the characters. I felt closer to them and the story meant more to me because I understood how much what happened affected the entire Crew.

Poor Vyr. He has never had an easy time. Riyah is the perfect mate for him with her patience and undying love. These two suffered a major loss and they were both handling it the only way they knew how. Riyah had to push Vyr in order to help him, but in the end it was so worth it, and it was so sweet.

They’re a messed up crew of misfits but they love each other and it just works.

Oh my goodness. I have been a fan of TS Joyce for a long time now and her books get better and better. This new one did not disappoint. Vyr is unsteady but he has the support of his mate and his crew. The surprise is what else and who else is out there to support the Red Dragon in his quest to become grounded and the Alpha this crew needs. I loved the way the author delves into the heartbreak and pain that Vyr and his mate are going through and how this affects everyone. It shows that no matter what they stick together for each other. The ups and downs lead them down their path. Seeing a few old friends in this story really brought it all together. Definitely needed the tissues for this one but once again Ms. Joyce has written a fantastic story that I highly highly recommend to anyone that loves paranormal or just a good story. I am never disappointed with her ability to bring me into the lives of her characters! Fantastic 5++++ for this book!!

Holy shit....like holy fucking shit! She already did Vyr's story but that motherfucker wasnt done yet. He kept at her and she relented and wrote the other part of his story.

I loved Vyr's story before but since then he's been through hell and poor Riyah just protecting all of them best she can. He can't hold The Red Dragon anymore. Its taking over and nobody is safe. Riyah has had it and her hand has been forced. She wants her mate back and her crew to be ok. Nobody is ok and hasnt been since..... I am not giving anything away to those who havent read it. Its a big one and more than most of us understand. Those who can relate to them on every level. Just made me so freakin sad. Its no wonder things have been hell since. Nox....lord love him. God...he's so annoying but I love him. Heh....he wants to ride the dragon sooo bad. Ha. I'll leave it at that. I cried and laughed as usual but mostly cried in this book. OMG...that ending? Sobbing!

I love Vyr. He is my favorite characters form this world that T.S. Joyce has created. He is so I want to say broken but he isn’t. He wants to a good alpha so badly. He dragon is just so big inside him. The book made my heart hurt. Vyr is going through something emotional that his dragon takes over basically. He does this to help Vyr or at least he thinks he is helping. Riyah, Vyr’s mate will have to save him once again. I loved this book so much. I felt for the whole crew but Vyr more than anyone. Vyr connects with Grim and wants to be like him and continue to try no matter how many times he fails. He must find a way to continue to get him dragon under control. I can’t say enough about this book. It is a must read for sure. I can’t wait for the next book from T.S. Joyce to see what she comes up with next.
