Set in Coeur d'Alene Lake Idaho, Mudgy Moose and Millie Mouse play hide and seek traveling around the town. They are best of friends and love hanging out together, but one day when they play hide and seek Millie hides so well Mudgy cannot find her. He looks everywhere, and visits many different places near the lake. He goes to the library, boardwalk, city park, and Independence point, but eventually Mudgy becomes tired and has to take a nap. In the end he goes down to Independence point and goes to take a drink of the water and sees Millie's shadow in the water. FINALLY he has found Millie Mouse! This book is a great book and can spark adventure within kids. In a classroom this book could be used as a book to spark adventure in students and have them tell their own adventure stories. Overall, this books is very cute and in the back there is even a map of all the places that Mudgy and Millie visit, this way you can visit the same places too.

Might be fun to read with children who are familiar enough with Coeur d' Alene, Idaho to recognize the sites. The illustrations are colorful and the hiding in plain site idea is cute for young children, but nothing memorable for me here.

this is the only kids book or title in general that matches an author, illustrator AND sculpter! this is my first time reading this book even though it is local based and ive literally walked by the statues associated w this story. im touched to see our area repersented in a good kids tale that encourages outdoor exercise, imagination and also emphasies local based environments. i liked it alot. but i didnt love it.
