Bought this on my last visit and very pleasantly surprised by the content. The Ashmolean in Oxford is a vast museum with thousands of exhibits, but this volume describes around 80 of the most diverse and interesting ranging from an Egyptian wall painting, a rune stone, and statues of assorted deities from all over the world to paintings, ceramics and suits of armour. Each object gets a colour photograph and an informative blurb. Fans of art and history will find plenty to inform and entertain, as well as inspiring a visit.
