The Summit has been called and the clans have gathered. A war is brewing in the Wastes, and I seem to be in the center.
With old horrors stirring, and bonds breaking can I do what it takes to save us all? Or will my need for vengeance be our downfall? First, I have to face my biggest challenge yet, myself.
One thing is certain, the sands will turn red before The Summit is through.
*18+ Reverse Harem Romance. Warning this book contains scenes and references of abuse that some readers may find triggering.*
This is set against a brutal backdrop in a world only the strong survive and this second book in this fast-past and gritty post-apocalyptic adventure starts off right where we left things previously. Returning from meeting with the leader of the Worshipers and on the road back to the summit Taz and her men are waylaid by Berserkers. Outnumbered they awaken to find themselves in an underground bunker and guests of the rumoured paradise. Also, a shockingly familiar face flings Taz right back into her past. But with a war looming Taz is desperate to return to The Ring before it’s too late. Not to mention how time-sensitive this is with a psychotic seeker possibly going postal and sending out a search party in search of his chosen soulmate. This one was plenty dark in terms of content and our girl definitely gets put through both the emotional and physical ringer. She finally admits her feelings for Maxen, Thorn, Drax and Jax but something also felt slightly lost with the inclusion of Dray to the mix. Don’t get me wrong I did like him a whole lot, he’s a powerfully brutal figure who takes what he wants with no apologies but at the same time lives by a personal code of ethics he also adheres to. I also loved his interactions with Taz they were incredibly erotic in nature. I just felt it threw the dynamic of this off slightly and compared to Dray they all just then seemed more like boys, especially when held up against his more savage and dominant personality. This did annoy me slightly because prior to this I didn’t feel that way at all about them. I’m hoping the final book will maybe fix this for me finally clicking it all together so it fits, fingers crossed. This one also had some very emotional moments that were majorly heartbreaking and the finale here was a shocker as well On a side note though this contains a lot of dark content it’s the backdrop and situations and bloodshed that are dark rather than the romance itself. I’m very much looking forward to the next instalment in this thrilling series and excited to see where it goes next.
There’s just something about a heroine who even with five guys of her own handles her own shit that I love. Be it cutting off the head of her enemies or bathing in their blood. The end of the world is no time to go soft and no one knows that better than Taz. This book was literally explosive. The sex was on fire and the action did not stop. If anything we’ve yet to see the true savageness inside of Taz. After losing more close to her and defeating her number one foe, even the devil should take note and hide because she’s coming for them. I really did not know what to expect with this ending and while I love Taz not needing to be rescued it doesn’t escape my notice that she’ll now have to go save her men with a literal army behind her. If they thought the world was ruined before the people in the cities are in for a rude awakening. Not to mention I think there is a lot more going on with her birth father that remains to be seen, for some reason I really don’t think he’s trustworthy. It’s a kill or be killed world and Taz embraces that. Somehow this girl still has some humanity in her and it’s almost hard to watch the world challenge that. Im really loving this story and adding Dray into the mix just feels right especially now with the road ahead of them. Had no idea what to expect from this series but it’s raw, gritty and I can’t stop reading. 😍😍😍

I enjoyed this, not quite as much as book 1, but it continued that dark, Mad Max feel. It’s gritty, it’s brutal and it’s incredibly bloody. Definitely an adult novel, younger readers need not apply.
Review copy kindly provided by the author in exchange for a honest review The long awaited second book to Their Champion series was worth the wait. For those readers who have read Knight's debut and fell in love with her addictive writing , you won't be disappointed. There was expectation for this book, given Worth and the world she had created. Readers went to places they never thought they could and were taken on an adventure that still is being written. The conclusion of which is still to be decided, yet there so much already to love about this beloved series.
So far there has been a simmering tension that as built up and the ending of the first left thing on an interesting note. It was waiting to explode and this book delivers ever more then you could ever dreamt. Whilst some may be no surprise for those who love to guess and enjoy having a idea in the head. But even so , there was something about this book that made it hard to devour. It made you want to savour the time with Worth as charges through The Waste, trying to prepare herself for The Summit.
Obviously there a lot going on and whilst readers probably are super concern about The Summit and existing plot lines, there some interesting side notes that offer potential of even more exciting moments. It's a solid second book that delivers more then what you expect. In fact readers will be probably left with what did I read face by the end in a good way. As this book succeeds and delivers beyond your wildest dreams. Worth is back and bader then ever, The Champion is ready to fight.
Yes. Yes. And yes. I want more! I ate up this book in one sitting. I was heartbroken a few times, this book can be dark so fair warning to those that only want to read very happy books. This is not it. This is a world that is dark and bloody. I was so sad, some of my favorites....but I told myself to only be emotionally invested in Taz and her men. I'm glad I told myself that early on. I can't wait for the next one! Ah! The Queen. I loved the ending even though I was incredibly sad.
For me, characters and plot are the most important elements and this series has both well developed characters and an intriguing plot. Worth, the FMC, is strong but not perfect. The author has done a great job of highlighting her strengths and showing her weaknesses. She is bloodthirsty but appropriately so considering the world and her backstory. Still, she is compassionate and loyal to those in her circle. In the first book, I thought the relationship and her personality flip were a little too fast but considering how short it was I went with it. In this installment, there were too many s$× scenes for my personal preference. I would have much preferred a bit more relationship building instead. In regards to the plot, it is slowly progressing and I am interested to find out what happens next. Overall, I am really enjoying this series and would recommend for those who like dystopian settings and RH stories.
I liked this one more than I liked the first book.
Though there are still some of the same problems prevalent in this book, editing, pacing, and relevance, I still enjoyed myself, and felt all the emotions.
This one is labor intensive, this one is also very dark compared to the first book. This one also has death and some other things.
I am not a fan of the play in this book. They seem to like some knife play or something and it’s kinda gross for me.
Still I did like seeing where the book was going how Taz is growing as a person and how she’s come to rely on others.
The Summit was an interesting book and had a lot of interesting parts to the story.
So many revelations that have me wanting the next book.
Luckily for me the next book is out tomorrow.

Listen here if you haven’t read this series as yet you are seriously missing out. Like can Worthy become anymore savage and can those spicy scenes get any hotter. Then adding another lover while the other guys are good with sharing. This series is underrated. The un-alive scenes are crazy and the plot overall is noble. Rebel with a worthy cause. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a strong FMC. I gave this book 5 stars because the character growth is amazing. It’s crazy that Worth didn’t want to become Queen but understood that she had to do what was necessary to right the wrongs. I’m obsessed.
Oh how I love Kaitie Knight. I loved the first book in this series and book 2 The Summit did not let me down. I love how she makes The Champian our favorite heroine and our favorite hero. Not many authors can do this. This book is gritty, dark and very violent. It also has sweet and steamy sex and lots and lots of adventure. I love when a book can tick all those boxes. It keeps me reading and excited.
I did not want this book to end. It is one of my all time favorite RH series of all time.
The second book in Their Champion series - The Summit was epically addictive, and who knew that the second book would blow the first book out of the water. The emotions and storyline are are so shocking captivating that you won’t want to put it down.
This book is definitely a one click.
I highly recommend K.A Knight’s The Summit, and look forward to continuing the journey with the next book - The Cities, plus the novella The Forgotten.
I so badly wished I could have kept going, for the sake of Dray at least. K.A. Knight has a very stereotypical personality types for her harem and everyone has a sob story. It's just unrealistic and the repetitiveness of personalities killed this for me.
That trigger warning never applied more..... And I am getting tired of cliffhanger endings. She also added a plus one to her harem so we will see how that goes.
Worth is a badass. Her guys are perfect. For a minute I questioned how they could all fall into sync like they did, but then remembered ing has the characters fighting for everything. It really is survival of the fittest. The characters, especially Worth, have a complexity that is hard to define... yet K.A. Knight manages it brilliantly.
This story starts off right where the last one ended. War is on the rise and Ivar's crazy control is trying to spread to all the corners of the Wastes. Everything is tense at the Summit with all major clans in attendance: the Worshippers (cult), the Reeves, the Seekers (Assassins), the Rim and Ring citizens, a Berserker defector, and even an unexpected addition of Paradise reps (sheltered). Sands below, Someone has to deal with Ivar's insanity and all eyes are looking to the Champion. Tazanna Worth has to put on her big girl panties and turn her title of Champion into Queen.
One reviewer said it the best. "Gritty, harsh, ugly, heartbreaking, unexpected. Worth is a force. She's fierce, borderline crazy, loyal, loving, twisted, and incredibly strong." She is one of the most ultimate badass women I have ever read. She surprises you at every turn whether she is ruthless and deadly or protecting those she cares about. Oh and her men...mmmm. Jax, Drax, Thorn, and Maxen are hers and much as she is theirs. Their love, understanding, and acceptance of her brand of crazy and lethality are illustrated in all of their interactions. I love how they defer and put their trust in her in a lot of areas where she is obviously the expert. Oh and finally Dray!!!! Dray is definitely her balance. He constantly challenges her and in his own insane passionate way (rivaling Taz's crazy really) loves her unconditionally. I love that we finally see some of the softer and steamy interactions between Dray and Worth.
This book is so well developed and descriptive. You even fall in love the supporting characters, like Nan, Major, and Vasily. Ugh this book had you in the feels from start to finish...didnt know whether to laugh, crazy, rant, or crow with joy. It just had you at the edge of your seat. That ending, you finally feel some resolution, but now new threats are looming. I can't wait to see what sort of s*** Worth and Dray can start, but this time with the Northern City idiots who went in did the dumbest thing ever - steal people the Champion holds dear.
First I enjoy the basis for the series and the writing style . I would have absolutely loved this book if the heroine was the true bad a** She thought herself to be. There is a lot of talk about how tough she is... A good fighter... but it is all talk. She was hurt more than any character and usually because of stupid stuff. Some of the stupid was okay... but then she gets caught by her old master... That scene didn't show any strength or intelligence... And after, she simply let him abuse her... No anger, no fight, only thoughts that she was so bad a** because she could live through it... I would have a lot more respect for her if she fought him while in the room while they were all by themselves, weapons all around...but no she only thought of how she survived torture in the past... no anger of wanting to attack him, nothing...then she simply lets herself get passed around. I don't know... I saw no reason anyone would follow her. Even the fights to get her her freedom were hand picked contenders to make it easier. It wasn't lost on me she never really earned her freedom like others tried... And it still didn't connect for her. If she was everything that was said... If actions mimic words... It would have been a very enjoyable read.
When we last left Worth and her men, an attack left them vulnerable and some of them on the edge of death. Book two picks up the story quickly and we begin a dangerous journey to try to end both a war and a madman. Found on that journey is heartache, pain, enlightenment, hope and everything in between. I made no secret in my review of the first book that I really loved Worth and her men. The characters of the books are written beautifully. No one escaped the end of the world whole and some were more broken than others. The emotions invoked, both in characters and readers alike, in this book are strong and real. You cannot help but feel for the characters as though they were your friends. Worth had started her journey to being a bit more whole, a bit more human in the previous book. In this addition to her story, she is becoming more comfortable with both her men and her humanity. She is stronger in this book. We get to meet new characters in this book. Some of which we hate, some we love and some we are heartbroken for. We learn more about the past, and more about things that are hidden from a surface view. The world building remains strong. We travel to new places and learn more about the pockets of humanity left in the wake of the end of the world. All of those places and people are described in enough detail that you can clearly picture how the people survive and imagine yourself there. As the plot unfolds, it does not get confusing. It does keep you on the edge of your seat, wondering who will survive, how will they end the terror, what will happen next, and who will come out stronger in the end. It does end on a cliffhanger. While the book plot does get resolved, some devastating news leads us to book three. I really enjoy K.A Knight's writing style. Just enough descriptions to allow me to picture it without being overly wordy. A nicely flowing story with natural dialogue makes it a joy to read. I will warn you that the book does contain some possible triggers. Because this world is a violent one, there are some graphic, violent scenes in the book. Torture, abuse, and assault are all found within the pages of the book. While it is not gratuitous and is essential to the story, for some it may be a trigger. There is also quite a bit of swearing so if you cannot handle "bad" words, you may not be suited for Worth. There are also some hot sex scenes.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend this book(and series). It is one of my favorite series. I am looking forward to book three and meeting back up with Worth and her men.
War is coming to the Wastes. Ivar wants to control the lands and their people. More than that he wants his pet back. Major and Worth have called a Summit. The treaty has served them well over the years but the deadly Berserker King's intent means the uneasy peace is coming to an end. An already unforgiving world is soon to become more hostile. Politics have never been on Worth's mind but she has no choice. She will die before she submits to Ivar again. She has found love, she wants to protect her friends, and she wants her revenge. So a Summit has been called. Reeves, Priest, Dray, Major, and Nan have all assembled, along with a few unexpected guests, one representing the Berserkers and a delegation from Paradise. Chaos and tension reign before the politics are interrupted by bloodshed. Time has run out. Demons must be faced. It's time the Champion becomes a Queen.
Gritty, harsh, ugly, heartbreaking, unexpected. Worth is a force. She's fierce, borderline crazy, loyal, loving, twisted, and incredibly strong. Her surprise friendships, the way she steps in to protect the weaker citizens, the way she has dropped her walls, given and accepted love, and her total resistance to cave to Ivar define her growth as a character. Her rare moments of weakness and vulnerability in this book actually made me respect her more than ever. She's not your typical, likable lead female but she is one you will never forget. She's the woman this world needs. Her men are exactly what she needed. Jax, Drax, Thorn, and Maxen have proven that they are completely hers; they trust her, they will follow her anywhere, they adore her. Dray challenges her on every level. Unconventional love, sometimes disturbing, sometimes ugly; always passionate and intense. The moments of shared tenderness stood out in contrast and made me appreciate them even more.
So much took place in this story. Each scene is so absorbing, written so vividly that you feel the heat, smell the blood, hear the screams. It's an intense read. Horrifying, heartbreaking, inspiring. The story arc wraps up in a natural place at the end of this book although the story is not over. One issue has been dealt with but a major new problem has come up. It will take everything Worth has to fix it but her motivation has never been stronger. This time she takes the fight to the city. Sands above, they don't know what's coming. They have already made a huge mistake, they had better hope it's not any worse than it already appears. Otherwise, they will burn.
The Summit picks up in Paradise where Taz and the men are recovering as "guests" after being attacked at the end of The Wasteland. We get to learn a little more about Paradise, but the clock is ticking, and there's really not as much time as many of us might want to dig into the underground community and the family issues that lurk there for Taz.
Though the value in their time at Paradise comes more from the moments to regroup and heal a little, we also get a new character out of the whole mess who has some potential- the Doc. He seems interesting and looks like he'll turn out to be one of the good guys. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him.
The steam level definitely rises in The Summit, and there's a noticeable increase in the amount of s*xy times, almost where I felt like there was a bit more play than work while the group's in Paradise. Honestly, though, the scenes work well, and I can understand the need, the desire, to cling to one another after having a near-death scare.
One of the aspects I liked about The Summit was that we get a little more into the character's histories- learning more about Thorn, Maxen, and even Taz. And, yes, we do learn more about Dray. I have to admit...I like Taz's men, but there's something violently, morbidly, fascinating about Dray that I just can't resist. He has more page time, and more depth, in The Summit, and I'm 100% OK with that.
Overall, The Summit keeps all of the grit, danger, and violence that was first unleashed in The Wasteland. Taz's world is not for the weak, and there are some descriptions of violence that might not be for the faint of heart. Knight has crafted this world thoroughly, and she's committed to keeping her dark dystopian world as a place where rules are only followed if you have the strength to back them up. We get some resolution on the demons that have been chasing Taz from her past, but a whole new conflict is opened up at the end, so it's clear to see where Taz's story will guide her next.
My only complaint is that there was some drama between Taz and another character, a link to her past, that felt a little TOO contrived. For me, it seemed unnecessary to use this connecting point, and I'm really not certain that it had many benefits. However, the looks into Taz's past are worth it since they were so impactful on the person she's become when we meet her in book one.
Generally, I totally recommend The Summit to fans of The Wasteland, and I'll definitely be checking out The Cities when it comes out next :)
Book: The Summit Read By: Ebook Author: K.A. Knight Genre: Reverse Harem, Dystopia Recommend: Yes < b>Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years My feelings:
I was completely blown away by this post-apocalyptic story. It seamlessly blends two of my favorite genres: reverse harem and dystopia, with a healthy dose of blood and gore. The protagonist, Worth, is an absolute force to be reckoned with, a fierce warrior who embodies everything I love in a female lead - a total badass. “I could kill a thousand Berserkers for you, I could lay their heads at your feet for what they did to you, but it will never be enough to remind you of how deep you are buried in my soul. You are not my light in the darkness Taz, you are the fire in the dark that keeps me warm and reminds me of why I fight. I hope that even at the darkest of times, even when you can’t feel me behind you, this necklace will remind you of why you fight.”
But it's not just Worth who stole my heart. The guys - Thorn, Maxen, Drax, Jax, and the mysterious 5th addition - all have their own unique charms and personalities that make them irresistible. Except for one of them, Dray, who was left undescribed in the text. But in my mind, he looked like a handsome Henry Cavill (hello!). “The winds may rage, and the sands may burn. Danger surrounds us at every turn. My land I fight, my men they scream. For the world, I will bleed.” “Bleed, bleed for the cause. This dusty land will be my fall, with swords which clash and mouths that scream. For the world, I will bleed,”
As the story unfolds, these men quickly fall for Worth and begin to stake their claim on her heart. The instant attraction and fierce protectiveness between them is palpable and makes for some steamy moments. And amidst all the romance, there is plenty of action to keep your heart racing as the characters face deadly challenges and unexpected twists.
“I knew you would be mine, but I never thought I would be yours,” he murmurs
The heroine in this story was fierce and fearless, even with 5 men at her breken call. She handled her own shit with ease, whether it was cutting off the head of her enemies or bathing in their blood. The book was a literal explosion of passion and action that never seemed to cease. With every page, we witness the raw savageness within Taz, ready to be unleashed at any moment.

I'm not even sure where to start... This book was A-FUCKING-MAZING. I loved book one (don't believe me, check my review lol), but this one... fuck, this one had ALL the feels. On to the book!
Book Two starts off right where we were left at that awesome cliffhanger in book one. Taz aka Worth wakes up a surprise, (shh, not telling, you gots to read it). And when I mentioned that this book is full of the feels, I meant it. There are a lot of flashbacks to see what drove Taz to be the warrior she is today, and how she became The Champion. We also get some back story on her men.
And speaking of her men... *happy sigh* we get an extra dose of lovin' going around. I still maintain that my favorites are Maxen, Jax, and of course, our favorite crazy guy - Dray. We get to see a side of him that you wouldn't quite expect from this brutal killer, and I loved it.
We get to meet some new characters - Doctor Perfect Face and the Assassin are among my favs that totally need a spin-off (gives Katie puppy dog eyes).
And of course, this wouldn't be a K.A. Knight book if she didn't kill some people that I totally love... she's a pint-sized murderess, and I love her (steals favorite characters and hides them from her).
And yes, there's a cliffhanger at the end, but not a huge one... well, some might think it is, but I loved how it ended.
PROS: - Sexy fun times with errbody - Dray time - Fast paced - Made me feel all the feels
CONS: - I cannot believe you did the thing to the person! I still love you though. - Cliffhanger
OVERALL: Lurved it and lurved it hard. Action, the feels, and sexy fun times... oh and also plenty of murder and stabbity stab stabs. I can't wait for the next installment in the series.
Oh wow, the Wasteland was a great book, but this one was even better. I can't believe that the author managed to surpass her previous greatness. Needless to say, she cruelly left us hanging again in a very similar way, and I absolutely love her for it, because that means that there will be more books in the series. Steamy factor in this book is off the charts, especially because we get to know Dray a bit more intimately, as he plays a big role in Worth's life (I haven't managed to see her as Taz, yet). That does not mean that we don't get to see even more of her beautiful four men. Did I mention Dray? Dray is my favourite. Oh, and Dray rocks. Now back to the story and general non-steamy stuff. I almost feel like the author's writing is even better, which is strange, because it was pretty perfect the first time around. She expands the world, outside of the Ring and the clan territories already seen in the previous book, moving into the Seekers and Berserkers land, and some previously uncharted territories. The differences among the peoples are staggering, and the ways they created to survive and cope with the devastation. The violence increases as the fighting gets closer to home, and there are some seriously ugly scenes. The author did a stellar job conveying all the pain, suffering, torture, and trials of the gritty raw world she created. Get ready to have your heart thorn out. And of course, she created the most amazing and most violent creature of all, the unprecedented killing machine with a heart of gold - Worth (Taz). I also have to mention that Vasilisy is a great character and I absolutely love him. And Dray rocks. This series is a must read for all the readers who are not sensitive to explicit content and violence.
I really enjoyed this one! It picks up right where the last one left off and we get quite a few twists in this one. Tazanna Worth wakes up in what turns out to be Paradise and low and behold, her father is there. She wakes up without her men and so of course is very worried about them and leery of the whole situation. It also opens up a whole new hurt as she thought her father was dead before but turns out he was alive and apparently never came for her, he stayed hiding and safe in Paradise. Everyone is okay/recovering from there last battle and they use this time for some recovery while getting some medical attention and also working through and building some more of their relationships between Taz and her 4 men here. She knows that she is short on time though and needs to get back to the Summit and before Dray comes looking for her, tearing everything apart on the way. Things are never smooth and there are a few twists as they deal with the political issues between the leaders at the Summit and trying to find a way to come together for what they all know needs to happen, taking out Ivar. Worth is working through things with Major and seeing things differently as well after seeing her dad and getting more of Major's backstory. This story has a big thing at the end and it does leave us on a cliffhanger though we continually get to see how strong Tazanna Worth has become as she takes hit after hit and keeps getting back up and fighting. There are some bigger losses for Taz in this one that she has to deal with but she also gets a pretty big win as well. Quite the twist at the very end and I can't wait to see what Taz does next. The Cities have no idea what is coming at them.
