This is my second favorite Buffy the Vampire Slayer fanfiction, first favorite that includes an f-f relationship, and first favorite that has no cross-overs (my favorite is a short story from Dawn's point of view wherein she ended up in/on Deep Space 9).
The Buffy season that ends with Faith in a coma and Buffy near her bed is the season visited here (and if you have no clue what Buffy the Vampire Slayer is about, what I just said told you nothing, heh, mmphs). Buffy is sad about how everything turned out, sheds a few tears, and makes a wish.
Whereupon Buffy finds herself back in time - at the beginning of the year, and near when Faith first arrived in Sunnydale. This time Buffy can do things right, this time . . .. She spent the year longing for the dead Angel, while dating some guy (even though she didn't want anything, really, to do with that human relationship). This time, eh, maybe she won't waste all that time doing that kind of stuff, maybe.
The story/season unfolds, things happen, some the same, some different (some different because Buffy takes action, some different because prior action by Buffy has lead to some unexpected and tragic consequences). Buffy and Faith grow close. Closer.
Story ends. Good solid book on it's own. But I know it is the first in a series, more words than were included in this story have been written in the second (second story is already 40,000 words longer than first), but the second is not yet complete (and hasn't been updated since October 2018). I wish to read the second book. I somewhat fear what I might read there, considering how this one ended.
