‘You’re so stubborn,’ smiled William, stroking gently across her face. ‘But fortunately for you, I’m an incredibly patient lover.’ ‘You are?’ she asked, inhaling swiftly. ‘Yeah, I am. Not like your ex, huh? He never quite hit the spot, did he?’ ‘Perhaps once or twice, maybe…’ ‘No, I can tell, just from meeting him. He’s not capable of giving you the kind of release you so desperately crave.’ ‘And what kind is that?’ breathed Lizzie, titling her head slightly, to allow William’s gently stroking fingers to move round and access her delicate neck. ‘The kind that comes from having firstly been nurtured.’ ‘And then what?’ she groaned as his hands stroked gently across her chest. ‘And then teased to the very edge of your endurance,’ he replied softly. He couldn’t help but smile at Lizzie’s slight whimper. ‘I would make you ache with longing before I eventually showed you any hint of mercy.’ ‘And then?’ she croaked, as his lips softly kissed along the inside edge of her raised arm, his day-old stubble making her flinch with desire. ‘I’m not sure you’re going to want to hear this, but I’d have thought the final stage was obvious,’ he smiled. ‘Not to me…’ ‘And then dominated,’ he said simply.
There has been an entail in place on the thirty-thousand acre Winterbourne estate for centuries. It specifies that the ownership of the estate and its assets should be passed to the next heir on the day of their fortieth birthday. However, the heir must be married, else the inheritance is forfeit.
Thirty-nine years old and single, the heir, Sir William Mortimer is understandably feeling the pressure. He consults local solicitor Elizabeth Silverton for legal advice but quickly realises that she might be able to assist him in a much more practical way…. for the right price.
Contemporary erotic romance for readers over the age of 18.
Lizzie Singleton is a solicitor who's not at a loss for interesting and scandalous cases. William Mortimer needs her help to inherit his estate from his uncle. What he needs is a fake wife, because the only stipulation is to marry. It's a contracted marriage and they can divorce after 2 years. There are to be no feelings involved, but that isn't going to happen once their chemisty sizzles and sparks desire. Theirs is a sweet, cheeky and passionate romance that is forced to face someone who wants to keep them apart. They have a HFN and I hope that they can ultimately find their HEA! Kitty Windrow does an excellent job with the narration. She has a clear and dynamic voice that brings the characters to life.
I loved this book. Great relationship. So 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. It will take a bit to get there, and then it explodes. I will be reading all the books I;this series. A great new author to me.
This book is very hot and sexy. With an intriguing storyline that will have you hooked. The characters are funny, well built and likeable. Great performance from Deborah.
Fun erotic novel with a modern marriage/engagement of convenience twist featuring a smart solicitor and a local landowner in need of legal recourse.
I've re-read this book a bunch of times, and have to say that it's superior to a lot of contemporary romance novels I've read. The chemistry is great, the plot is interesting, the love scenes are edgier than I'd normally read- BDSM-lite. The front half is all about the gradual evolution of the relationship. The latter half is a lot of love scenes with a couple of plot details holding it together. The conflict at the 80 percent mark seems a bit contrived. No way would a smart solicitor fall for it that easily. But maybe love makes fools of us all.
This was such an enjoyable read. Lizzie is a great character - intelligent, kind and feisty - and William is incredibly strong and sexy. The story is light and engaging and the chemistry between the pair is delightful.
