The red hair I got from my mother. The revenge I got, I took. Humiliated and beaten, I watched as the self-imposed King took everything from me. With the help of friends I made my escape into the quiet night, and waited to take my revenge. Helping the less fortunate along the way, I made anyone who crossed me, remember my name.
What an enjoyable novella prequel! This was full of emotions and a promise for epic things to come. I loved robins character already and this take on robin hood is showing alot of promise. I am thoroughly intrigued and I can't wait to get stuck into more of the story!
A gritty prequel short that introduces us to a grimdarkish world where a female Robin Hood has been captured for aiding women abused by King John and his men.
There is a lot of mention of rape and Robin's being tortured, hence assuming this is to be a bit on the grimdark side. Some typos aside, it's well written and sets everything up for a series of romance and revenge.
This really got me in the mood for a female twist on the classic Robin Hood tale. Seeing Robin's reaction to the betrayal against her family, and the reason for her swearing vengeance, really excites me more the story to come.
