What readers are saying about The Pleasant Valley Series...
"What is better than one Anna Brooks novel but three all rolled into one box set. Three swoon worthy alpha males. Three sassy strong females. And three epic love stories that will have you flipping your kindle pages as quick as you can to see what happens next." ~ Capriotate
"I am amazed by these stories. All of them were relatable and filled with such angst they made for very thoughtful reading. Nothing quite like a damaged hero or heroine finding redemption and these books had it in spades!"~ BA ND
Fixing
I don't remember what it's like not to be scared.
And then I meet him.
My brother's friend and ex-partner is everything I'll never be. Sexy, confident, and perfect. He calls me sunshine and tells me I'm beautiful. He asks me to stay.
When my past come back with a vengeance, he proves just how much he'd risk to shield me from the demons that were never supposed to resurface.
Love,
He has trouble written all over him. From his dark brown eyes and cocky smile to the leather jacket and ripped jeans, I know exactly what kind of guy he is.
The tempting bad boy comes out of nowhere and makes me question everything... and everyone.
He marks people's skin for a living, but what he doesn't know is he's already tattooed his way onto my heart. I don't need ink for a permanent reminder of him, but I'd do almost anything for his touch.
We couldn't be any more opposite. He comes from a life of wealth and fame while I grew up in the system and am one step away from living in my car again.
I see the pain he's trying to hide, and he knows the hell I've lived through, but that didn't stop us.
One night was what I needed, but he wanted more, and men like him always get what they want.
The first time Anna tried to read a romance novel, her hair caught on fire when she leaned over a candle to sneak a peek at her mom’s Harlequin. She thinks being hit on the head with a shirtless Fabio until the smoke cleared is what sparked the flame for her love of romance. Anna was born in Wisconsin, but currently lives in Texas with her husband and two boys. She writes sexy romance that always has a happy ending and loves bringing characters back for cameos. Less than six degrees of separation connects any of her novels. When she’s not writing or reading, she’s watching reruns of her favorite romcoms, talking to her dog and cat like they’re human, eating carbs, or practicing hand lettering. She loves to hear from readers and can be found on social media as @annabrooksauth everywhere.

Mellie cut herself away from the world after a horrific event, the trauma of which she is still trying to deal with. When she is left a house by the grandfather she never new, she decides to go on her own to see what needs fixing up before she sells it. Smith Porter is a former cop and was Mellie's brother's partner, he's agreed to help Mellie fix up her house but what he didn't expect is to be so drawn to the delicate woman he meets.
The second attempted kidnapping/villain was just a tad too much and wasn't needed as a strand in the plot.
Some moments that were really upsetting and had me drawn in but there were almost moments that had me wrinkling my nose in displeasure.
Potential Triggers:
Book 2 - Love Me: 2 Stars
Rayne has been in limbo since her boyfriend disappeared, presumed dead by all. She's find it impossible to let go, leaving him voicemails like he'll be walking through the door any second. When Vaughn comes to town, setting up shop next door to her, Rayne's attraction to him shakes her foundations and has her petrified.
This one really didn't work for me. The connection between the MCs wasn't there and the emotional intensity that was expected given the plot didn't manifest.
Potential Triggers:
Book 3 - Steady: 3 Stars
MCs were secondary characters in book one and heroine was a secondary character in book 2.
In some ways the stronger of the three books for me.
So there three books in this. They are all basically insta-love but all very much full books. All three men are also very alpha males who know what the heck they want. All three stories are steamy, love able and HEAs. First book: Has triggers for anyone with issues with sexual assault. Probably not good to read if anyone has issues reading about that. This book is about Mellie and Smith. Mellie gets left a rundown house from her maternal grandfather she never knew. Smith is her brothers friend and former partner (police partner) and the man her brother has helping her with the house. She’s trying to heal from a trauma that broke her and she’s just trying to take her life back. Smith is all alone and struggles to deal with his own losses. It’s basically love at first sight. They struggle to overcome their issues, survive crazy people and build their love story. It’s intense and so good. You can’t help but want to take all Mellie’s issues away from her and Smith is just a perfect man the whole freaking time. Second book: This book is Rayne and Vaughn story. She’s waiting for her missing boyfriend to return. He’s looking to belong. To love and be loved. She learns what is really holding her down and he opens himself to real possibilities. Vaughn is very much a man but with the little boy in him that you just want to make his past what every kid deserves. He definitely has love at first sight. Their story is very heartwarming. Third book: This book is Polly and Erik’s story. Polly has had a hard life her entire life. Erik has suffered loss after loss. They both find something real while fixing each other. They both have some issues to work through. Same as the other two it’s a very good book. My favorite was Mellie and Smith’s book. They both were the most love able of the whole group. The other two books were really good but I got really invested in Mellie and Smith. All of these books are very worth reading. I feel like my review didn’t do them justice but squeezing three reviews in this I feel like I’ve written my own book here lol. It’s also hard to not just tell everything that happened in all the books. So read them.

Fixing Fate Smith and Mellie, two people who are not supposed to get together. She's his friends younger sister, and he shouldn't go there. But he does, it's an instant connection and Mellie is getting over some serious issues. She's young and doesn't want to be a victim anymore. There is more than one threat in this story and quite the twist near the end. I loved their connection and their path to figure it all out. I am a fan of Ms. Brooks and I will read the next one in the series for sure.
Love, Me Rayne and Vaughn, he's come back to Pleasant Valley after quite a few years. He meets Rayne at The Lunch Box, a small restaurant that her parents own. Quite an interesting back story for both of them and how they intersect. Both are tragic, and both not quite ready to move on. I love Kenny and Brad and their relationship and their creative way for the proposal that's to come. Really bad first dates, sandwiches, cash deposits and just being friends, all part of this journey. Loved it.
Steady This chapter brings us to Erik and Polly, we've met them in the first two stories. It wasn't until the very end of this story that I clicked that this was the founder of Ace Security, I absolutely loved reading about the beginnings and have already read the other books in this spinoff. Horizontal surfaces, and completely wrong for each other, or actually perfect for each other? "Maybe a little of both." I love that Erik is totally alpha and he protects what's his, even in drug stores. Polly has too many bad experiences with men that she needs to stay strong and do things for herself. It was a very emotional read and I'm so glad I read it.
I received this readers copy in exchange for honest reviews.
mellie cut herself away from the world after a horrific situation. she have inherited a house from her grandfather that she never she had. she decides to reinvented and that's when she met smith porter. Smith Porter a former police officer returned home to help with the family business who also happened to be mellie's brother expartner. They begin to find they are attracted to each other. All is going good until danger came calling. again. vaughn morris has come back to town and opened up a tattoo shop, due to circumstances in vaugh life he had made mistakes and was trying to make amends for it, rayne garner helps her family with their resturants , two years ago she lost her boyfriend and was put her life on hold because she made a promise , her friends and family know she is missing out alot in life. vaughan and rayne met and their attraction was insta nt , even though they both had secrets. this was a book about second chances . erik anderson and polly madison came from two different background due to a circumstances erik though he had failed his loves ones.so when he met polly all his protectioness was put on her. but polly knew that they come from a different background just when polly was about to come to be a couple the past came back to haunt them. This was all second chances romance and i highly reccommend it

The Pleasant Valley Series is three books 1 by Anna Brooks. Each is better than the last. Each of these stories are unique in their own written way and are just remarkable stories: Three full-length romances filled swoon-worthy alphas and nail-biting suspense.
First book is Fixing Fate. The Carpenter and the friend's little sister. This story took me by surprise, just when I thought I figured it out, there were some pretty unseen surprises that were thrown at you.
Second book is Love me. The tattooed tattoo artist and the sandwich shop cook. Couldn't be two more opposite attracts with these two. The emotional, letting go and trying to find that bit of happiness was never so sweet for these two.
Book Three in the series is Steady. Now since book 1 I was dying for more Erik and book 3 is finally when we get to meet up with him again.
Like I said each story is unique in its own way, and as they each standalones, reading them straight three together is so much more feeling to each couple throughout.
These three books all had high and low points. The first book, Smith and Mellie, was good definitely four stars. I like the progression of their relationship. The second book, Vaughn and Rayne, I had more issues with. I was super confused about raynes relationship status. And it took me a while to figure out the bro was dead. Maybe if there had been a prologue about his disappearance that would have made more sense. Other that I adored Vaughn and Rayne they were super cute and I liked their relationship as well. The third book, Erik and Polly, was harder for me to get into but I still finished it. I kinda got tired of all the drama by the time I reached the third book that maybe I was just burned out on it. Overall I would give the set 4 stars. I did enjoy them. I'm looking forward to reading other books by this author
I loved every single one of these books! I couldn't get enough of these characters!! This series has it all. I felt every emotion from the laugh out loud moments, swooning, ugly cry, to steamy chemistry burning through my reader.
I've read Anna Brooks' books and they never disappoint, this series being one of them. I've read them in different order, so I'm glad they all are standalones. Now that I know how Ace Security got started, I want to go back and reread that whole series again. I love everything this author publishes and cant wait to see what she comes up with next.
This is my first time reading something by this author. These were an entertaining and enjoyable set of books. The stories were well-written and flowed nicely. The plot in each book was interesting and had some twists and turns that made for an interesting and intriguing story. There was plenty of romance and suspense that had me turning the pages. The characters were strong and well-developed. The author did a nice job of bringing this story to life with vivid descriptions and well-developed scenes. I enjoyed this set and am looking forward to reading more by this author.

This series is AMAZING! Each book was a 10+ read for me & ended up on my favorites & reread shelves. Fixing Fate gives some twists & turns, and keeps you on the edge of your seat while you fall in love w/ Smith & Mellie falling in love. Love, Me is emotional and swoony, offering just the right touch of angst as Vaughn & Rayne work through some misunderstandings to get to their HEA. And then we have Steady. Polly & Erik have one of my favorite relationships ever, and I enjoyed every minute I got to spend with them! : )
I loved all three stories because they had everything you could possibly want a book not to mention 3 of them at once. Heaven!! Characters were all fully developed in all three books, so if you love Very Strong Alpha men, exceptionally feisty women with whom they fall in love with, then this is for you. These men will protect their women with everything that is in them, as will their women. The titles included are: Fixing Fate; Love, Me; and Steady.

I've never read anything from this author before. I loved all three stories because they had everything I wanted in the book. Dual, first person point of view of both leading characters. Characters were all fully developed, I loved that the guys were all alpha males. I will definitely read more from this author in the future.

This book contains three full-length romances with bad boys who are also really good men who will do anything to keep their women safe. The titles included are: Fixing Fate; Love, Me; and Steady. Some of the books are hard to get into, but take a chance and see if you find one that really satisfies what you are looking for. With a variety like this, there is always a treasure somewhere in the pile!
There are three stories in this book each of them the characters have had bad things happen to them. They don't let that stop them and try to carry on with their lives. None of them feel they deserve to be loved but as they say love will find a way. Each book pulls you into the story and it is hard to put it down once you start. Anna Brooks is a new author to me and one I will be reading again.

This was an intriguing boxed set, which 3 couples that embark on different journeys. I thought that the stories were easy to flow along with and they made for some nice casual reading this week. There was plenty of fun steamy romance throughout the pages and I did like how the stories were all about second chances.

I enjoyed these three stories: "Fixing Fate", "Love Me" and "Steady". They are nicely developed with good almost instant love plots. Each one bring something unique to the mix as do the characters. The chemistry between them is strong and the characters I really liked. Although the first story has some triggers it is my favorite and I think the author did a good job with the subject matter. They are all good stories though.
Smith & Mellie, Vaughn & Rayne, Eric & Polly. 6 people (plus more) whose lives intertwine in this town. All three stories are pretty dark, and there are a LOT of relationship issues including parents, exes, siblings, and outside forces. My favorite of the three was Smith & Mellie. All three are standalone, don't need to be read in order (although it helps in knowing the supporting cast better). All three have aHEA.
What an amazing collection we have with this series. You will get all kinds of feels, it’s emotional, sexy, on the edge of your seat flat out good. Each couple has their own story and own issues to work through to get their HEA. I really enjoyed getting to know all of the characters and how they are all tied together. I received a copy of this book.
I enjoyed each of these stories, the plots and characters were strong, the stories were written well. Each of the couples had their bumps along the way but they were good together. The connection and chemistry between them was strong. These were good stories. Anna Brooks did a great job on them. Thanks Anna Brooks. Good work :)
these three books are sweet and steamy. Fun and exciting. Three individual couples that very in length and steam. Misunderstandings, suffering silently, action and suspense . The common link? Wonderful characters and riveting plots

Book one and three where well written and easy to follow. Book two could use a little introduction or back ground information other than that the stories where fun and entertaining with interesting characters. All three are insta-love stories.

I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review. This book is absolutely outstanding 😍 I loved all 3 books, each of them were excellent in there own way. They were brilliantly written and such an easy read. I'd definitely recommend anyone to read this book, because it's pure entertainment and you won't be disappointed.
Interconnected books that can be read alone, all about second chances.
In each story there are characters that have had really bad stuff happen in their lives but they keep going. Even when they think they don't deserve it, love happens, and they grab for that golden ring.
Anna Brooks did it again she wrote another great book. From page one to the end I was not able to put it down. I would give this more than five stars. I highly recommend it you will not be disappointed.
I absolutely loved this whole series. I don't think I could pick a favourite out of them as I loved them all for different reasons. It will definitely be a series i re-read as I don't think I will ever get bored of them they were that good. I highly recommend that you read these.
This was a great boxed set filled with good story lines, terrific character work and each book has a fairly smooth flow to it. I enjoyed having these books together in one collection.
