Tommy had always loved Ella but was caught in a secret love triangle as his best friend Mike got to her first.
This story flipped back and forth from present to past which interrupted the flow. Years later Tommy met up with Ella again, with her daughter Lina. He still loved her as much as before, but Mike’s memory interfered with Tommy’s conscience in addition to the secret Tommy was keeping from Ella.
While this was a sweet second chance story, I never really felt the connection between this cute couple.

This is a book that is by turns sad and hopeful. Tom has loved Ella from school, but she marries Mike, pregnant with his child. When Mike dies while on active duty, Tom avoids her, but, himself out of the service, he has a serendipitous meeting with her and her daughter. The secrets of Tom and Mike’s past together are revealed in flashbacks, and the time changes are adeptly handled and really add to the tension and build-up in the story. This is more than a story about second chances; it’s about mistakes and courage and grit and overcoming betrayal. It’s the first of Cari Robe’s books I’ve read, and it won’t be the last.

I fell in love with this couple in Beach Daze (appearing in Gone Coastal) and their story didn’t disappoint.
This story was from Tommy’s POV and I’m totally in love with him, I can’t wait to read Gals get get Ella’s POV
Ohh, and Lina is a sassy kid who you cannot help but live

Oh my goodness what an incredible book! This story captured me from the beginning and and did not let go until the end.
Tommy has loved Ella since the third grade, but she married his best friend Mike. After Mike's death, the two are brought back together and things are brought to light. This book is one of loss, heartbreak, and second chance at love. The characters are well developed and draw you in, wanting to learn more. It has great a storyline that is compelling, entertaining, and intriguing. I recommend you to read this book, you definitely won't regret it.

Tom Mike and Ella all grew up together and she was the only girl Tom loved only problem Mike loved her as well and pregnant with Mike's child she married him and Tom promised he would always be there for them both. Now Mike has been killed on active service and Ella has been left a single mum Mike breaks his promise and stays away from Ella he can't handle the guilt Fate has plans for these two and they meet again will their love blossom this time and will secrets from the past destroy them or draw them closer together This book really handles the flashback parts well they flow into the story which doesn't always happen This book was a pleasure to read

I recommend this book. This story is about Tommy and Ella and Mike. Tommy has loved Ella since the third grade, and she ends married to his best friend Mike. After the death of Mike, the two of them finally get together. The story will keep you reading till the end. The characters were well written and it will draw you in. A great read.

A love triangle of sorts if you think about it. Tom has been in love with Ella since the third grade but she only had eyes for Mike and eventually end ups marrying him, but he's killed on duty leaving Tom and Ella behind.
A story about love, forgiveness, betrayal, and serendipity.

A tragic, emotional rollercoaster consisting of two men, best friends, and one woman. A pregnancy, a marriage. So many emotions come into play with this book and yet, with it, comes a ray of hope when fate steps in. It was a heartwarming story of friendship and loyalty, love and loss, faith and hope. It was a good story.

Second Chances

Tommy has loved Ella for a very long time.
Tommy, Ella, and Mike had all been best friends forever.
Unfortunately, Ella ended up married to Mike.
Things have a way of working out in the end.
Mike so did not deserve Ella.

Oh heck yeah!! I am absolutely in-love with this story and can’t wait for Ella’s story next!!

Tommy has been in-love with the same girl since third grade. He stood next to his two best friends the day they said there “I do’s” even though he knew in his heart she was marrying the wrong man. Unfortunately his best friend Mike, was killed on the job and Tommy just couldn’t face Ella because he carried a lot of guilt with him but life had a funny way of bringing these two people back together.

August is a bit different from Cari Robe’s other stories but is just as good, if not better. I can’t wait to read Ella’s story next. 🖤🖤
