The Billionaires of Gramercy #1

The Billionaire Broker

Rate this book
A crumbling Irish castle in the center of downtown, a grieving heiress convinced she won’t sell, and the billionaire land developer determined to change her mind.

When Macey Declan inherits her grandfather’s odd, crumbling Irish castle, she not only has to decide what to do with it, but now she’s fighting against the land-grabbing real estate agent across the street.

Billionaire Levi Richardson has one more property to secure to complete a years-long urban expansion project designed to bring this sleepy small town into the modern era: the Declan mansion. He needs a wrecking ball and quick.

Levi didn’t plan on Macey’s refusal to sell, but when his client increases the offer and Macey is even more determined to keep it, he finds himself switching tactics and helping her paint instead.

Uncovering the castle’s old secrets together, Macey and Levi begin to put aside their differences and learn that maybe her grandfather knew what they needed all along.

Deb Goodman’s obsession with the written word started at age three, when she realized the old-timey newsprint wallpaper in her family’s bathroom had actual words on it. The only problem? By the time she learned to read a couple of years later, the wallpaper had been replaced with something else—boring, non-worded wallpaper—and to this day, she still doesn’t know what it said.

Now, she and her husband and four children live in Utah. They love sports, music, and doing slightly insulting, pretend voices for their little shorkie, Mavis.

Deb writes funny, small-town romance that you won’t need to shield your kids’ eyes from. Billionaires, friends-to-more, enemies-to-more, cowboys, fake relationships…there’s something for everyone here!

Writing lovey dovey books comes naturally to Deb since, to her, there’s nothing better than reading and writing about how two people fall in love.

This was a fun read! I liked how Levi was able to show his true colors to Macey. I wish I could have seen the castle Macey inherited!
Also, a side character was named Sherilyn which was awesome!

Favorite Quote:
She pulled the glossy sheet out again. She could admit to herself that he was an attractive man. Tailored gray button-down shirt, with a wide, navy dotted swiss tie, “Richardson Real Estate: The Right Choice,” in raised silver lettering along the top. Levi Richardson was looking at the camera like one of those lame “Hey, Girl…” memes. “Hey, Girl, I’ll sell that house for you.” “Hi,” a voice said. Macey looked up and saw the same smirk. “So, which one is better? The paper version or the real one?” he asked, taking a large step and turning with a flourish. He folded his arms across his chest, trying to mimic the pose in the photograph. Macey stopped short, the breeze swishing her skirt. He was something to look at, but she sensed the challenge in his eyes. She glanced down at the photo and back up at him, still in his exaggerated pose. Her throat grew dry at the embarrassing reality that she’d been caught staring at his picture. “The paper one. Definitely.” She picked up the pace and sidestepped to avoid him, pulling her purse strap up her shoulder.

Defying Your DNA

Macey has inherited her grandfather's ole castle. She doesn't know if she will keep it or sell it. Then she meets Levi, who knew her grandfather and wants to buy the property for another company. When his father tries to railroad her into a sale, suddenly, Levi is really regretting his DNA. The more Levi gets to know Macey, the more determined he becomes to help her keep her family home. There are plenty of places to chuckle and some of my favorites are the billboards ~

I really enjoyed this wonderful sweet romance. The characters were realistic as was the conflict between them and their consciences. Levi has to decide whether to stay with his father's company until his father actually showed him some respect. Macey was torn between keeping her grandfather's estate or selling it and going back to California. The dialogue was well-written and believable. I would highly recommend this book.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Really enjoyed reading this story about Macey and Levi. There was some wonderful back and forth between them and you were not quite sure a few times that they’d make it!
The only thing that I wasn’t too thrilled with is that Macey had a hair trigger response throughout the book. I’ve seen a lot of that for some reason with at least 3 of my regular authors. It made me want to jump up and pop her one!

The Billionaire Broker is a fun, clean romance. Levi and Macey have more in common than they think. Originally pitted against each other, Levi eventually begins to help Macey. As they discover some of the old properties secrets, a romance is born. This book has an interesting plot, well developed characters,, some drama and an HEA. I was captivated from the first pages.

A nice clean read.

Though not terribly exciting or a fast-paced book, the conflict between Macey & Levi is real and difficult to find a way to work around. Levi, though a key at the beginning, turn out to be a pretty great guy.

I really enjoyed this story. Levi and Macey are seemingly opposites with a lot more in common than it appears. They are both at a crossroads in their life, trying to figure out the best path forward.

For a captivating romance read, this is for you.

Deb Goodman understands the human heart and is an exceptional storyteller. I read the last in the series first and am grateful I came back to read the first. Fabulous characters, splendid dialogue and proficient pacing.
