When reading this book I particularly enjoyed looking at the illustrations, they were extremely detailed on each page and admirable. I believe that this would spark a lot of conversation when being read to children as they will have a lot to observe and talk about (relating to their lives). We must consider the questions we can ask children to ensure they are thinking and using their imagination. We can ask questions such as 'What do you think the illustrations will look like on the next page?'. Simply by looking at the front cover you can draw conversation from this itself.
This story is a traditional tale and many children may be familiar to it but I admired how the illustrator did not stick to the common 'look' of cinderella, with a blue dress that we all know her for. This allows children to see different representations of Cinderella.
