Young Annabel’s dream of being a famous actress is about to start when she is offered her first real role in an audience-participation mystery play on a real stage. Unfortunately, her co-star, a huge Newfoundland hound, that she is terrified of, isn’t making it easy at rehearsals. And when opening night comes, an even bigger problem makes Annabel have to prove what kind of an actress she is or makes her wish she had stayed at home.

This hilarious third book in the Annabel the Actress series is sure to entice Annabel fans and new readers alike. With delightful black and white illustrations in 12 short chapters, this is a great segue for 7-to-9-year-olds who aren’t ready for longer chapter book series.

Annabel wanted to a famous Actress .She wanted to show her true talent to word but the number one rule in the theater is the show must go on . And Annabel is determined to make this happen. I like it but at the same I don't really like .

I feel like there wasn't a whole lot of plot in this book even for the young audience it was written for. I did like that Annabel overcame her fear and the costume bit was funny.

This is the third book in the Annabel the Actress series by Ellen Conford. It features a spunky actress-in-training who is determined to find her way into the movies.

Annabel is an enterprising young girl who follows her dreams and is not afraid to start small. She is thrilled to be offered a part in a play, but the part itself isn't all that great. Still, Annabel makes the best of the situation.

The story is entertaining and I love that it features a strong, independent female who doesn't take no for an answer and has a positive attitude. The illustrations are quite hilarious and complement the story nicely.

We really enjoyed reading it together and we will certainly look for more of the books in this series at our local library.
