Sugimoto and Asirpa's heartwarming union was perfect. The flashback of Wilk and Yulbar's life was pretty good and illuminating. It was very crucial for moving the plotline further towards the end, I think. Now, Asirpa is nearly on the brink of cracking the code for good.
Ahhh after 19 volumes, I finally gave Golden Kamuy a 5-star rating..! This is probably my favorite volume out of all volumes because I think this one has more serious events compared to others. I think the build up from the previous volume was really good, and vol 19 was able to execute such a wonderful flow of events. There may be some parts which were sort of predictive, but it didn't feel cheesy or whatnot... it just felt right. Everything felt right. Some things finally putting into place, but some things are still left in the rubble. The mix of mystery and reveals are still ok. Amazing backstory for Wilk, too.
What a beautiful volume. I really can't stop reading this.
"The journey... wasn't meaningless." **cue sobbing noises**
Kiroranke! ;_; Oh man, the end of this volume was tough. I know they can't all journey happily together again after what Kiroranke and Ogata did, but I like all these characters. Weirdly, though, as sad as I am that Kiroranke died, if it had to be one or the other, I'm kind of glad it was him and not Ogata, because I'm interested to see if Ogata can ever change.

Really hope the 3rd season will get adapted to this point. Some hilarious interactions between the characters, but overall I feel the story is getting more serious. There's nothing wrong with that and I take it as the story naturally maturing as the stakes are raised.
i was smiling so hard when they finally met again dawg😁 and wow a lot of events finally came to a head in this volume. might be the best volume so far honestly.
This series only gets weirder and dumber and funnier and better as it goes. Just such a masterful combination of goofery and serious historical drama. I look forward to every page.
Interesting volume, and here we get much more clue to solving the secret code to find the gold also there's revealing a secret from Asirpa's father past about rebel.
What happens when our treasure hunters meet?!? Violence, yellow showers, and warm embraces... not necessarily in that order. Have I mentioned how awesome this series is? GoAT!
Now I understand why Volume 19 has this cover—and it's absolutely fitting! I can’t help but feel torn because I’ve grown to like all the characters, even the weird ones. I'm not sure who to root for anymore because they're all so likable in their own weird and crazy ways—even the villains. Their quirks and relationships make this feel like an unhinged sitcom in the best way possible.
So much happened in this volume that I liked: Koito and Tsukishima have officially grown on me—Tsuki’s conversation with Svetlana and his unyielding promise to bring her back to the lighthouse family was unexpectedly touching. Sofia's inmates showing loyalty to her and her loyalty to them. The bromance between Sugimoto and Shiraishi, the wholesome relationship between Sugimoto and Asirpa, the intense clash between Tanigaki and Kiroranke, and the interactions between Asirpa and Ogata.
The chaos is bound to escalate now that the two groups are together (except for Hijikata’s team), I can’t wait to see how things will change.
This was the volume where I became 100% positive that Golden Kamuy is among the tippy top of greatest comics series of all time, regardless of genre, era, style, nation of origin, you name it. What other series can match this fluid shifting of tone from ridiculous action to serious questions about morality and the struggle for liberation, to beautiful character drama, to ridiculous comedy, and finally to intense and shocking violence with real consequences??? And to make all of these transitions feel fluid, natural, and real?!?!?! What other series can do that shit? And make it all WORK?!?!?!
Intenso.
So focused on this beefy men's motives that I forgot there was Asirpa and what she was doing there. Oh well, I mentioned Lady Une few volumes ago and here we are with the idol pure princess.
justifiable motives aside, Kiroranke was very entertaining character. Good bye.

I think after 14, this is my favorite volume. So much happens in this volume that sees Sugimoto’s group be reunited with Asirpa’s. Crazy action scenes who’s end result change the status quo moving forward. Incredible book!

This entire volume had my heart in my throat with nerves. So much could have gone wrong, but so much has also gone quite alright… I’m intrigued to see where we all go next!! Still so many issues to solve!
I wonder if Ogata will be an even better sniper after this lol.
ahhh my faves have reunited but I’m so conflicted about that ending! I thought I wasn’t suppose to like you but now idk I’m so confused I need to know whats going on!
Noda’s ability to follow up the sweetest, most wholesome and emotional moments with the most ridiculous and obscene comedy is insane and I don’t know how he does it but I love it so much
