Geronimo Stilton #51

El misterio de la perla gigante

Rate this book
Each Geronimo book is fast-paced, with lively full-color art and a unique format kids 7-10 will love.

One day, my friends and I, Geronimo Stilton, made an amazing discovery. We found a huge oyster -- with an enormouse pearl inside! I was so excited about this extremely rare, precious pearl that I wrote a special feature about it in The Rodent's Gazette. That article attracted lots of attention -- both good and bad! The enormouse pearl was in danger of being stolen. Would my friends and I be able to protect it?

I absolutely devoured these books as a kid and since I'm going through a rough time right now, I decided to read one for comfort and ended up reading 4 haha. Don't judge me, I need book "comfort food". It wasn't even as bad as I thought it was going to be, I was obsessed with them in elementary school but i figured they wouldn't really stand the test of time. They held up pretty well though and did their job of comforting me, even if it was only temporary ;)

I liked this book because it was funny and the pearl was beautiful. It wasn't very good but it was okay. my favourite character in this book was Prof. Gil fishy whiskers because he was guarding the pearl and knew how to open the oyster. I loved that he kept it a secret. I didn't like the part where Aunt sweet fur kissed Gray fur it was disgusting !!!.

Erg leuk gedaan!

Geronimo Stilton is definitely a fun little mouse detective. My third grade student loves his stories!

Geronimo is kind of irritating. He's shallow and wimpy -- he only talks about (1) how gorgeous Petunia Pretty Paws is, or (2) how scared he is. I was kind of bored; the only thing that kept my attention was the changing font.

Finally read an OG book, instead of "Geronimo Stilton's Sister's Fan Club starring Geronimo Stilton's Sister for like a paragraph but it's billed as a Geronimo Stilton's Sister Book anyway"!

I... am irritated by the extent to which it digs into the myth of mice eating cheese (though to be fair, Geronimo gets sick from eating the cheesecake), but more than that, the little details:
- Geronimo needs summer weather clothes, so they load him up with SANDALS WITH SOCKS and (as continues on the next page) A SCARF

- they find an enormous oyster (hence the name), and Geronimo declares they will document it then leave it in the ocean where it belongs... then [SPOILER]
ABSOLUTELY TAKES IT OUT OF THE OCEAN TO PUT ON DISPLAY
- they leave its pearl inside while displaying it, like... that thing's like a gallstone to an oyster, you really gonna make it keep suffering?? [maybe if it were a smaller pearl, that'd be one thing, but the pearl in this book is HUGE and can absolutely be removed without hurting the oyster!)
- (spoiler about music and the oyster reacting to it, as though music is a thing in the ocean... but they're ANTHROPOMORPHIC MICE SO WHATEVER I GUESS???)
...I get it's cute having animals be associated with certain things, but... ehhhh, still mostly mad about the cheese fixation

Cute series, but I'm definitely not the target audience, haha...

Thi book is about a group of mouse searching for the enormous pearl. They face many difficulties throughout the searching of the pearl. It is a rare, precious pearl inside a huge oyster. On the other hand, another group of mouse wants to get the pearl and sell it for money. Geronimo and his family found a huge oyster with four ribs. However, they found out that a book says the real oyster has five ribs. At last, they found the real oyster and brought it back to a museum. I like this book because it is interesting and exciting, but it would be better if there were more thrilling plots.

We're so proud you read "The Enormouse Pearl Heist" by Geronimo Stilton. This exciting adventure teaches us about courage, problem-solving, and honesty. You learned how Geronimo and his friends worked together to solve the mystery, showing the importance of teamwork and thinking creatively. You can use these lessons by working well with others, being brave when facing challenges, and always being honest. Remember, just like Geronimo, you can achieve great things when you put your mind to it and work with others.

Love,
Mom and Dad

Deducted one star because tbh I would have preferred if the oyster was preserved in its natural habitat.

Tittle:The Enormouse Pearl Heist
By:Geronimo Stiltion
I think that the enormouse pearl heist is a very good book because there is a lot of action. There was a rat named Geronimo Stiltion he went to an island for a vacation with his mom, nephew, and his friend they went to the airport and got on a water plane and left.Geronimo was flying and he saw the island and was worried because where were they going to land his friend said,''in the water'' he was scared then Geronimo got off the plane and he got wacked in the head by his suitcase. Then they went to their apartment and Geronimo take a nap with an ice bag on his head then he woke up and ate dinner with his family and friend then the manager brang out chessecakes and he ate 4 big slices of them and he went to bed and was sick because he ate too much. Then Geronimo went to stay still and not fall in the water but he couldn't stay still and fill in the water and he saw a big blue something and its mouth was huge and he swam back up.Then he called his professer and told him he found a gaint clam so he went to the island and he got the clam carefully he will put it in an aquarium. Then stiltion knew people tried to steal it so he made a fake clam and send it to the professer and the real clam was at the island so nobody can steal the clam or damage the pearl.

As I expected, this book was so amazingly good because it made me both scared and laugh. All of the Geronimo Stilton books in the series are just too good to read! I think anyone can enjoy this book because even though it's an easy book, it will make you lose your mind because it's just too good!

Very fun book! Loved the way images are used as clues to solve the mystery and the colorful, varied font throughout. Plot was fun, kept light but had ideas and issues to further explore. There are romantic overtones, but only referenced and not acted on.

1/22/20 (4) - I picked this up as a “palette cleanser” sort of speak to get myself back into reading. I used to read this series when I was younger. I’m so glad I chose to revisit it. This book was so cute and fun. I’ll definitely keep going through the others.
