Loved it.
And I'm not gonna lie, a crying hero will always tip the scale for me and melt my stone cold heart. Despite everything.
And when you give me a loner for a hero, a nice girl for a heroine, and tell me they've been pining over each other for a while?
What can I say?
To quote the classic:
I fold like a cheap hooker who got hit in the stomach by a fat guy with sores on his face. lol
But again, that’s a novelette, not a full length, so we have to treat it with a grain of salt.

4.5 stars for me on this one. I just didn't really like the beginng but after that, it was the Alpha Men series book i'm learning to love. I'm not sure exactly why I just get a bit turned off when the girl has to go chasing after the guy but hey, that's just my personal preference. After they spend his promised one night together it seems he just can't get enough! It's all Lindsey for Axel and after he admits that, it's where I start loving the book.
Absolutely a short "lunch time read" that's getting a spot on my re-read shelf when I want a romance pick-me-up.

It was actually a very sexy and heartwarming read . Linsey is in love with Axel but she also knows that he doesn't do relationships. The gossip around town is that he is still in love with his ex wife, so she has no illusions of ever being with him. So, determine to move on she proposion him for a one night stand. He refuses at first but he is also attracted though he makes sure to let her know he couldn't do more than one night.
Weeks go by and Axel realises he has made a mistake. He had pushed Linsey away when all he wants is to be with her. Great plot andlikeable
characters. I woukd have liked their one night of passion to had been more...passionate. Nonetheless, highly recommended

Ugh
Hated this. Liked the first short in this series but this was just awful. The conversations were stilted and awkward.

Girl who works at a diner wants a dude that comes in sometimes. She’s been pining after him for 2 years. She works up the nerve to ask him out. He turns her down. Then she says, “how about a one night stand” he agrees to it and they make out at the diner booth. It’s super inappropriate and a server tells them to cut it out. They literally make plans to meet up and bang it out. He admittedly tells her he doesn’t want anything more than one night. The only reason you get is a vague sentence tossed here and there about an ex wife who left him. You don’t hear why. He just says he’s swearing off all women because he “doesn’t trust them” But will give the h this one night. Said night happens. And she leaves before he wakes. The next day, he comes into her work office and bangs her out with no protection. Then says he’s sorry but they can only be friends and leaves and then doesn’t talk to her for WEEKS until he sees her at the diner talking to some dude and he flips out and gets possessive. What. The. Fark. Next thing you know they’re sitting in a park crying together and he realizes that she’s pregnant and suddenly he wants to be there. It cuts to the epilogue where they’ve been married for two years and they have their second kid on the way. What a short yet disappointing book. I suggest you skip this one. It sucked.

You would think 20 some odd pages would be easy to get through but from the moment Lindsey is introduced it was nothing but cringe. I really don't like desperate women in books, or one nighters. The fact Axel isn't interested in anything other than a one nighter because of his past doesn't really make for a romantic story either, especially one so friggen short and if I'm being perfectly honest, I really forced myself to finish this book even though I basically lost interest within the first few pages.
The worst though is that after the one nighter he still goes to her restaurant and then just basically uses her to get off in her office, without protection this time. Then tells her they can only be friends, like wtf? Seriously, such a douche move. If that wasn't bad enough he goes back a couple of days (maybe weeks) later and gets super pissed at her for having lunch with her friend! I'm sorry buddy but you have no claim on her. And of course.. Of. Friggen. Course she's pregnant (who didn't see that one coming?)... like why do these fmcs not know of the morning after pill?!? Like if you are going to be that friggen stupid to not make him wear a condom, at least be smart enough to take the morning after pill instead of just thinking "It's just one time".
Ugh this book urked me way too much for 20 some odd pages.

Really bad in general.
And I'm getting real fucking tired of characters acting holier-than-thou about whether or not to keep the baby. They always gasp and say "I would never!" Constantly coming across that attitude pisses me off to no end. I really hope that we're coming to the end of that attitude in romance books. You can still have a great romance and have an HEA even if you mention the option of abortion. I know babies are part of the package in an HEA, but I'd really like to see more representation for women who consider abortion or even follow through with it and still have their HEA.
I didn't mean for this particular book to receive my wrath on this subject, but it was just the last straw and it's been a long time coming for me. I usually just roll my eyes when I encounter the pearl-clutching, and I will continue to do so, but I had to say something. I'm sorry to the author that it happened to be their book that I unleashed this on, but I would've given this book a 1-star rating even without this problem. Sorry. 😬

One night is book two in the alpha men series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Lindsey has had a crush on handsome older man Axel for a good while. When she finally gets the courage to ask him out, she has the choice of one night with him or nothing.
Sparks fly between Lindsey and Axel but Axel refuses to trust another woman after what happened with his ex wife.
The chemistry between Lindsey and Axel was clear to see and I liked them as a couple. I just wish that there were more scenes of them officially together.
I really liked the ending and epilogue for this book. The ending melted my heart. I liked that Axel shown his emotions to Lindsey. His reasons for being untrusted were soon clear to see.

I’m really enjoying this author. She’s pulling some steamy romance stories out of her hat and staying within 50 pgs. Lindsey wants just one night with her dream man Axel because he doesn’t trust women to be in a real relationship so she’s got to make due with what he’s willing to give her. I liked her character of asking him out on a date and putting herself out there. But I did think she was a little bit too desperate and needy. Like rein yourself in girl. I’m glad Axel got his head out of his rump to go after Lindsey.
