For the first time in his life, Roque Blackstone heard the music of love when he caught Ritz Keller trespassing on his father's land -- spying on him as he swam naked in a sheltered pool underneath the live oaks. Despite their families' long-standing and bitter feud, Ritz captured his heart. But although they shared one night of passion, their love could have no future.
Ritz paid an incredible price for loving Roque -- with the loss of her family's respect, the life of her unborn child and loveless marriage to another man. Now, more than ten years later, Ritz is forced to admit that she still loves Roque. But will the tragedies of their past deny them the future they were destined to share?

USA best-selling Ann Major writes short, sexy contemporary romance.
Nora Roberts has described her work thusly: "Engaging characters, stories that thrill and delight, shivering suspense, and captivating romance." and Sandra Brown says, "Her name on the cover instantly identifies the book as a good read."
When I picked this up on sale at my local thrift store, I thought I would get a light-hearted romance, given the title. Not so. This is a very dark novel about a long-standing family feud, a love-hate relationship between the hero and heroine, and betrayal. While interesting, I still didn't like it.
My biggest problem was with the characters. They were just not likeable. Roque was your typical chest-beating "do as I say" he-man. The heroine was not much better. She cheated on her husband while he was ill (and no, the fact that their marriage was loveless doesn't make that okay), and was going to hide the fact that she was pregnant from Roque (the baby's father). I felt that they both deserved each other, and not in a good way.
I also never felt any love between them. There was chemistry, for sure, but no affection or tender feelings. It was more a story of two people who hate each other but there's so much lust that they can't stay apart. That's just not enough to satisfy me for a romance. I want characters I can love and cheer for. I want them to have a loving, functional relationship, not one that's on the verge of breaking up every second they aren't horizontal.
One last thing that really turned me off: when the heroine is first caught spying on the hero, he's not swimming nude. He's urinating--and she watches him do it! Seriously, it describes in detail what his "thing" looks like, while he's going to the bathroom! And how he shakes it off when he's done! EWWWWWWW!!!!!
While the premise had a lot of promise, MARRY A MAN WHO WILL DANCE is not recommended by this reviewer.
I picked it up, I put it down. I had to finish the book because I started reading it. It was all over the place I just was confused. Sorry I can’t review the book.
The title sounded like the possibilities of a light, romantic read. The delightful cover art also hinted to the romantic element in a very delightful way. The author's "Acknowledgments" in the beginning of the book advise, "We make plans. Then real life happens. So it was with this book. I had a vision. Then I wrote something entirely different." I wonder what she had been planning to write.
As the Prologue begins in Houston, TX, in April, 2001, I started reading with interest as I was actually living and working in Houston at the time. But as I continued reading into Book 1 that returns to an earlier time of 1990, my attention and interest started to sway and not to the tune of a delightful read. Instead of becoming absorbed in the story, I started remembering the wide range of replies to the question asked in a GoodReads discussion, "How long do you give a book to grab you?" Definitely not the best sign of a good read. It is highly unusual for me not to finish a book but that had not been the primary answer to the discussion. I decided to shut the light off for the night and give it one more try the following evening. The following evening, my first impressions only seemed to become stronger and I looked longingly at the bookshelf where there are so many titles waiting to be read. It was vacation time for me and I wanted to enjoy the extra reading time so although I marked this book as 'read', I did not finish it but I 'read' enough for me.
I didn't think I had read other titles by this author but in checking my list, I did read "The Girl with the Golden Gun". However, it was prior to posting reviews so I do not recall any reactions - positive or negative.
If you are expecting a sweet romance, this is not the book for you. It is indeed a dark novel with some very evil characters. There are some graphic descriptions of child abuse done in the presence of others and it amazed me that people could watch and do nothing to stop what was going on or at least report it to the appropriate authorities.
There are two extremely dysfunctional families involved - almost in a Montague - Capulet sort of way. Their past interactions were very sick and when two of their children try and end the feud disaster follows quickly on.
I believe the book is well-written, but it is a tough story to get through and may be particularly upsetting to those with a history of domestic or sexual abuse.
I really really really liked this book because idk I just did. it is really romantic though so for the people who don't like this kind genre I don't recommend it and I really don't read these types of books but I liked it. It did get inappropriate though on some parts so...little kids don't read this I only read it because I didn't know what it was about it was on my bookshelf so I read it but yeah it gets really inappropriate on parts so idk read it if you want. The ending was really sweet though.
