A book about the historical Jesus. We know that there lived a man called Jesus, probably born 4 BC (!), he was born in Nazareth, had something to do with John the Baptist, gathered a group of men around him, journeyed to Bethlehem and was killed by the Romans, by Pontius Pilate.
But that’s pretty much what we know. The rest is hear say, anecdotes, Christian fan fiction.
It seems evident that Jesus did not see himself as God’s son - according to the Torah, you can only have one God - but also, that if the Christians hadn’t elevated him to God’s son and had decided to start preaching to more than just the Jewish people (as Jesus did), we would never have heard of him.
Interesting that the Nazis tried to make him blond, a son of Pantera, a tall blond stranger - and therefore an Aryan...!
The author thinks more than he knows, based on the few actual sources from this time, and uses a lot of puns which is probably intended a humorous but comes across as a it too much.
Favorite quote - loosely translated: ‘Jesus foresaw the Kingdom of God - but got the Church instead.’
