REVIEW: THE EMPIRE is the third instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ contemporary, adult THE FILTHY erotic, romantic suspense trilogy focusing on billionaire/Navy SEAL and second in command to Grayson Bennett, Eric Mitchell, and heiress Harper Evans. Eric was first introduced in the author’s DIRTY RICH BETRAYAL (Dirty Rich #4) but you do not have to have read the previous series to understand or follow the story. As per most of Lisa’s series, there is a cross-over with inclusion of some of the characters from the author’s Walker Security series including Blake Walker, Savage, Adam and Smith. THE EMPIRE should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately following the events of book one THE PRINCESS.

NOTE: If you have not read the previous instalments, there may be some spoilers in my review.

SOME BACKGROUND: Six years earlier, Eric Mitchell, the bastard son of Kingston Motors CEO Jeff Kingston met his father’s new step-daughter Harper Evans, a woman Eric dubbed The Princess, but a woman that stirred something deep within our story line hero. A one-night stand followed by the realization of who and what Harper Evans represented further pushed Eric away from his birth right, as the spare to the heir of Kingston Motors. Fast forward to present day wherein Harper and Eric, now in a relationship with one another, find themselves a target of an unknown assailant hoping to end them both.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Eric Mitchell and Harper Evans) THE EMPIRE picks up immediately after the cliff hanger of book two THE PRINCESS wherein Eric and Harper receive some unsettling news about Eric’s father, a man who is no longer able to defend himself. Hoping to protect themselves from further exposure, Eric and Harper surround themselves with Walker Security as they continue to investigate those closest to our leading couple. But Eric has kept secret his earlier attempts to destroy the family, and Harper knows much more about Eric’s past than she was willing to reveal.

The relationship between Eric and Harper is erotic and flirtatious, passionate and seductive. Eric’s need for Harper is fuelled by his fear of losing the woman with whom he was falling in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, captivating and intense.

The world building continues to focus on the fractured family dynamics of the Kingston/Mitchell/Evans family, a family connected by blood, marriage, secrets and lies.

THE EMPIRE is a story of betrayal, power, romance and love. The premise is hypnotic, intriguing and suspenseful; the romance is provocative; the characters are larger than life, colorful and dramatic.

What a fantastic ending to this series!

The mystery, the intrigue and most of all the love that Eric and Harper have for each other.  Even when there is so much against them, so many people out to destroy what they have together, their love and trust for each other was unbreakable.

I love how this series flowed from one book to the next. I applaud the ending, it was clean, it was happy and it gave justice to Eric and Harper and gave punishment to the guilty parties involved. You are gonna have to read this to realize the depth of deception that the Kingston family is involved in! It will floor you like it did me.

Every time I pick up a Lisa Renee Jones story, I don't know what to expect and I love that! I love to have to keep guessing till the end of the story and hold my breath in anticipation  of the ending.  She never fails to disappoint you as a reader.

I highly recommend this book, I highly recommend this series and I cannot wait to see what Ms. Jones comes out with next!

The Empire is the steamy, fantastic conclusion to the Filthy Trilogy and the end of Harper and Eric’s story.

After how The Princess ended I couldn’t wait to read this and to see what was next in store for Harper and Eric. This book did not disappoint. Questions were answered, mysteries were solved, secrets were revealed.

The Kingston family is one crazy mystery. They are full of secrets and making enemies left and right. They are out for Eric and Harper, but Eric has a plan to rid their lives of it for good. The question is will they make out alive and unarmed by whatever secrets may be revealed?

With each book I fell more and more in love with Eric. That man has been through so much and has had to fight his entire life. He is a genius and will protect those he loves with everything he has, especially Harper. Their love for each other is what kept them going, kept them fighting. It wasn’t always an easy ride, but they fought the fight together.

This was the perfect ending to Eric and Harper’s story. This trilogy is a must read!

I loved that we got more of the Walker Security guys, especially Savage. I was more than excited to find out that he is getting his own trilogy!

This was the conclusion to the trilogy I have been reading the past week and even though I enjoyed some of it, I found myself to be let down as well. I had expected some huge reveals from the secrets that had teased me from the first book... but when everything came to light, I have to admit that I was disappointed. They weren’t as explosive as my expectations suspected they would be. Another thing that got on my nerves a bit was the constant repetition of Eric and his woman’s thoughts. They also would constantly bring up how they would never leave each other, but then change their minds when stressful situations would arise.

All in all the trilogy on a whole was worth reading; I just had hoped for more at the end!!!

I'll say it again... With a family like Eric's, who really needs enemies? They are a den of slithering snakes, a clan of game players and back stabbers, and they are truly evil. They would have to be to reap such havoc on his and Harper's lives. Luckily Eric has a plan to rid them from their lives, once and for all. It involves taking risks, putting their new relationship on the line, but it will be worth it if it grants them their happily ever after.

I love Eric so much! This man, this savant, this SEAL, this self-made billionaire, this honorable and incredible man earned a special place in my heart. I loved him for his inner strength and for his vulnerabilities. I admired his perseverance and his ability to see the big picture. I never doubted him and I'm glad that Harper learned not to as well. I must admit that I found parts of their dialogue and Harper's inner thoughts a bit repetitive, but I was still able to be wowed by this couple's romance. The Empire perfectly wrapped up the love and intrigue that the Filthy Trilogy successfully portrayed and I can't wait to see where all of these characters end up next!

The Empire is not a standalone. You will want to start at book 1 to get the beginning of Eric and Harper's story.

The final conclusion is here! There has been so many questions since book 1. As a reader, you just didn't really know what was going on, all the way to the end. I love when I am kept guessing like that.

There were a lot of family secrets, hatred between certain family members and possible sabotage but you were never sure who was the true target and who was the true enemy.

During all the family drama, Eric and Harper learn that they are meant for each other and both see how far the other was willing to go to protect the other.

Another fabulous trilogy from Lisa Renee Jones that tied in the Walker Security men. I'm sure we will see more of them to come.

What a great conclusion to Eric and Harper’s story!

As these characters struggle to find the solution to end the War between the Kingstons and Eric, which now includes Harper, they find themselves tested as both individuals and as a couple. I loved how despite moments of uncertainty, they both rebounded and clung to one another in the end.

description

There are so many questions left to be answered when this book begins, and in the process there are equal amounts of twists and surprises. While this story doesn’t involve a lot of action, it is a methodical breakdown of people’s motives and how to prevent the unseen villain from gaining the upper hand. The fact that the ending actually resembled the final move in a game of chess held a certain appeal to me considering Eric’s past with his family.

description

Eric’s ability to process numbers was more evident this time around. Harper was quick to embrace him when that side of his nature took control and I loved them both as they worked together to find a medium during those times.

description

Once more, the steam and chemistry here is absolutely off the charts, as all of Ms. Jones’ books tend to be. The pace is a bit slow with some repetitive thoughts but nothing I wasn’t able to easily overlook. We also get more from the Walker Securities guys as well as Grayson and Mia. Rounding out all this mystery and suspense with the sweetest of epilogues was perfect.

We all remember Eric from Grayson's books. BUT The Bastard & The Princess & The Empire can be read as a complete standalone trilogy - but I suggest you read the Dirty Rich series in the right order - all very adorable and sexy and exciting books! ☺

We're back with Harper and Eric where we left them in the second book. Eric was just about to tell Harper this big secret ...

And then of course we still have to find out what all the messages mean, who wants to kill everyone and what is what and who and why and huh? ☺

══════════════════

description

Well, I liked this last book a bit more than the 2nd one.
It was again verrry sexy and a little bit exciting and mysterious and adorable!

Lisa finally gives us the little summary again at the beginning. That is so amazing of her for all of us Bookalzheimer-Sufferers!!!

Harper and Eric are finally (almost) done with all those stupid secrets in the first part of the book. Now we have time to concentrate on finding out what's what in this whole mess!

It may take us a while - but we'll get there. Eric is not a mega genius for nothing! ☺

I really like this trilogy and all the people in it - especially all those Walker security guys and the heroes from the previous books - in this case Grayson! I'm really looking forward to getting Savage's trilogy!

But here's my BUT again ... the book - like with many of Lisa's books recently - was just too long. It wasn't even a mega long book - but 100 pages could've been cut! There are too many too long passages of words. Too much sex (even for me!) Too much of the same. I wanted more action. More new stuff. They keep on repeating every little detail a million times ... like who doesn't trust whom and who has secrets. Still!!
And then the whole mystery and action part of the book doesn't really happen? I expected/hoped for some kind of thrilling gun/fight excitement. But no. Nothing. There was never someone bad behind a door or catching us while walking on the street. These three books could've/should've been sooo much more.
We wouldn't have needed 3 books for this story.
No idea what happened with Lisa and her writing recently ... I'm almost tempted to stop reading her books. But I've been with her since the first Chris book and I just can't stop reading her stories. But why does she write so many books? And all are being released all over the place. We bookalzheimer sufferers never remember who was from which book or trilogy. Just write one trilogy. Release them. Then start another one. It's all way too complicated for us. There are at least two more trilogies coming this year alone, plus a lot of other books. Why??? Quality over quantity please. Write 3 or 6 mega amazing books a year and not 25 mediocre ones. Plus they're all sooo long. When does she ever eat or watch Netflix or play with her pets or husband??? Hm.
I'm hoping for better things to come. ♥ (And please don't be offended LRJ! ♥ I just had to say something!)

THE EMPIRE was a verrry sexy finale in this mystery suspense romance trilogy!
Run to your nearest amazon for your own Eric - this one is MINE!!!☺

If only Eric and the Harper could find it in them to stop having sex and actually bother with moving the plot forward, I'd have enjoyed it more. But I will tell you this, I consider this book an absolute shit for wasting my time, and I'm not going to give it more by writing a long ass review bitching about it.

Harper and Eric have only just found one another again and they can't focus on their emotions, on the fresh romance, when the world seems to be crumbling around them. Eric may consider his friends family, but his real family, the ones that call him The Bastard, are truly enemies and they're out for blood. After an avoided attack and some crazy coded messages Eric's father is hospitalized and his brother arrives unannounced and unhinged. For every puzzle solved there's a new challenge, not including the chemistry between Eric and Harper as they snag free moments for themselves and immediately jump back into the chaos. The Empire is the final novel in the Filthy Trilogy and boy is it filthy. Suspenseful, action packed, and as smutty as they come, Lisa Renee Jones closes this trilogy with a bang.

I didn't read the entire Dirty Rich series, it came at a time when my schedule was packed and I couldn't spare a moment to read 10+ novels, but something about a savant SEAL and a businesswoman, known as The Bastard and The Princess, just called to me. This trilogy is of the all consuming type, the characters and their stories don't leave your mind even while you're reading other books and participating in other activities. Eric and Harper just have that insane chemistry that makes you want a happy ending and yet their relationship, both romantic and familial, is just not as easy as anyone else's. The Empire, and the entire Filthy Trilogy, is jam packed with deceit, revenge, secrets, and, of course, lust.

Eric and Harper are meant to be, they fit together perfectly and it's oh so sexy, but they also have a mess to deal with. Eric isn't a fan of his savant nature and Harper is unsure of her family's intention, these issues lead to trust problems between them. Emotions are heightened as Eric and Harper's family use their soft spots against them, dangling secrets in front of them and threatening to reveal. Eric and Harper have a connection though, one that is almost inexplicable, somehow they work through it even when working through it is just the joining of their bodies. It's an exciting read, one with just enough mystery and suspense that I wasn't overwhelmed by the smut that fills the pages when the two are alone. I loved all the big reveals in The Empire, Lisa Renee Jones wrapped up the trilogy perfectly, answering every question readers had and giving us the perfect ending too.

The Empire is the perfect conclusion to Eric and Harper's story and the three are a great set of novels to pull away from the larger Dirty Rich series. I enjoyed the unique nature of the relationship between Eric and Harper and, like always, loved the business world that Lisa weaved into the book. Like all LRJ novels, this one is heavy on the sex scenes and even heavier on the suspense. Longtime fans, new readers, the in-between, will love Eric and Harper's journey from The Bastard, to The Princess, and finally to their empire.

Stick a fork in me, I'm done.

This is more a case of it's not you, it's me, but I couldn't finish this book.

And I hate it, as I have been reading Lisa Renee Jones for years now.

But it has gotten to the stage for me that with each new book, I am struggling to remember who is who, what is what and who did whom (and what).

As we are getting anew book from a different series every month or so, they have all started to blend into one another to me, and I just can't do it anymore. I spend the first quarter of the book trying to remember what happened the last book.

Again, this is on me, not the author.

I think it is time for me to move on - and I will probably come back and finish this book another day.

Whew! Finally Eric and Harper get some closure in their conclusion. The Empire picks up right after the events of the cliffy from The Princess, and the pace is just non-stop from page 1.

Eric has kept a secret for a long time, and it's this secret he fears will lose him the woman he's come to love with all his huge, huge heart. Harper and Eric are surrounded by secrets and lies from their families, betrayal, too. Thank God for Walker Security, there keeping them safe and protecting them. As Eric and Harper fall deeper in love, so do they find the secrets and intrigue deepen all around them. Will they make it out alive, and together when all is said and done?

I so loved this conclusion of Eric and Harper's story. And the very best part about it was undoubtedly Eric. He's a certified genius with racing thoughts filled with numbers and chaos, and now thoughts of Harper that bring him peace. For such an alpha, this right hand man of Grayson, Eric had surprising vulnerabilities and insecurities, but they only made me love him more, made his character that much more well-rounded. Lisa Renee Jones has truly written her heart out with this conclusion, and Eric and Harper will always have a place in my heart as one of my favorite couples!

Now we get the final installment of the Filthy Series ….”The Empire” and yeah this book worked for me in all the ways that we see building up within the trilogy. The suspense level of the plot is superb and it definitely had me so intrigued into wondering which of the family members were actually behind wanting Eric and Harper killed. Eric and Harper are definitely a unique couple, in that, nothing tends to get them down for too long. They are continually fighting for each other and I was intrigued in seeing how this book would play out in deepening their bond out. I do want to mention that its not an easy read to see them struggle at times within this finale, but I was impressed in seeing their faith in each other that was unconditionally unwavering. I honestly couldn’t get enough, and truly seeing how evil Eric and Harper’s family members are is just a reminder in the strength of what solid characters they both are to rise above that evil and come out on top. In many ways I just didn’t want their story to end, because I fell so hard for them in many respects, and they will be a couple to be missed. Somehow, this author won my heart in this taboo of a relationship and I am eager for more.

I was so waiting for this book to release. I was not disappointed in the least with how everything played out. Harper and Eric lived up to my expectations in bringing everything to a close. Lisa Renee Jones again has my utmost respect with her writing of Romantic Suspense. Her twists and turns are amazing and always keep me guessing and wondering.

Yes, there was a trust issue that Eric and Harper needed to overcome. The secrets are finally told and both of them definitely had their moments of doubt. But, Harper is the one keeping them together, the strong one that tells it like it is. She was truly unbelievable throughout this story and didn't break down or back away. Eric tried his hardest to let her see all of him and was convinced she'd run. She proved him wrong, stood by his side and proved to him that she wasn't a Kingston Princess.

As the story really started getting into the nitty-gritty of who the real players were and why, I couldn't stop turning the pages. Then, when the truth comes out, when Harper finally has the showdown with her mother and we see the true Isaac … wow, just wow. I was blown away. I loved how Eric turned the tables on the whole family, proved to them that he never wanted the Empire and won the girl.

The one thing that I can say is that Eric has the most stamina of any man that I have ever read. I honestly stopped at one point and said “again?”. Yea, that was the only thing that threw me off some. I felt like that's how Eric handled his problems, showed his love. Until he finally saw that she wasn't going anywhere and could admit his true feelings.

There is a part of me that's really sad that this trilogy ended. I am going to miss the banter between Eric and Harper. I'm going to miss the mystery. But, everyone seems to pop up in some way or another in all of her books so am hoping that we'll find out what's going on in their lives somewhere down the line.

Lisa Renee Jones really had me with this Trilogy. I love her writing and how she tells a story. There is never any down time where there is pretty “fill” to drag the story out. She lets you know, right from the beginning, that you are in for a wild ride. Her characters are well defined and live up to the way they were written. She just has a way with words that lets you escape into her fantasy, she makes you feel all the emotions and makes you feel like you are living the story.

THE EMPIRE is the third book in the Filthy Trilogy and must be read in order of release, If you haven't read the first two books not only will you be lost reading this one but you will be missing out on one heck of a story line! Lisa Renee Jones, in my opinion, is a goddess when it comes to Romantic Suspense that will not only heat up your eBooks but will keep you so engrossed with the story that you just don't want it to end.

In this final chapter of the Harper and Eric's story so much comes to light and I must admit that the bad guy in all of this is much worse that I every thought and that is truly saying something. Family is a funny thing, for some it's a blessing but for others it's a curse. Harper had a great relationship with her father until his untimely death since then she and her mother had a rocky relationship but honestly nothing out of the ordinary....for the most part. Then we have Eric's family...YIKES! Seriously with the first book being titled THE BASTARD you know things aren't solid....and that's putting it mildly. We have a crazy dad, an even more messed up brother, and poor GiGi I don't even know where to go with her. But the love between Harper and Eric is wonderful and intense I loved these two together, their passion for one another radiated off the pages and the way they fiercely protected each other was amazing. All I can say is WOW! What a Rollercoster Ride this has been because you will wonder who is the good guy and who is the bad guy right to the very end.

This is a must read trilogy for lovers of Lisa Renee Jones, and quite honestly anyone that enjoys a good Romantic Suspense that has as much heat as action in it. Happy Reading!!!

This trilogy started out quite strong so it’s a shame that I’ve enjoyed each book less and less. The struggle to finish The Empire was real. If it had been a standalone, I might have thrown in the towel but I invested too much time to quit.

The previous books suffer from repetition, and this book is no exception. It might even be a little worse. The pace is sluggish which caused my attention to wander. Truly, this story could and should have been wrapped up in two books. As it is, the conclusion is anti-climactic. I didn’t even feel like the bad guys got what was coming to them in the end, so I was left feeling unsatisfied all around.

They say bad things come in three’s and it sure seems to be the case about my streak of bad luck where awful books are concerned. Though to be exact this third time, was in itself, a trilogy that should have, by all that is fair, only taken one book to finish. I skimmed the three books at light speed, and I’m here to tell you that even though some of the works by this writer are not bad, but when she is bad she is just plain awful. Take for example, the Tortured, angsty hero agonising over the fact that he’s a savant??????? Hahahahhahaha or the heroine spouting nonsense about how the hero and her relationship should be about trust and honesty, at the same time resolving within herself never to share the secrets she knows about him that he’s not aware of, with him, and then her proclaiming that she loved all of him the savant part and the rest of him. Of course I’m paraphrasing, but just the fact that the writer obviously thinks having a higher intelligence quotient is not unlike having two heads is disturbing but in a rather funny way. And then there are the big, as a very dear goodreads réviewer spells it, SEEKRIT’s that unfold in the last part of the story which was seriously two and a half books too much. I skimmed so I’m not even certain what they were about, suffice it say I read enough to know they were anticlimactic to say the least. Perhaps it’s the internet that’s making us, and our books just plain sillier? I don’t know and do not care. I hope my bad luck stops now because I’m just bored. And need fun books.

The Empire was a great conclusion to a sexy and suspenseful series. Lisa Renee Jones gives readers a combination of romance and intrigue and richly developed characters, all mixed into an engaging storyline.

“We are the bastard and the princess, but I don’t care anymore. I want you. I fucking need you. Do you understand me?”

Eric and Harper are a fantastic couple and the events of this story really pushed them to realize the depths of their feelings for each other. Harper was fiercer and more loyal than ever, and Eric was so posessive and ruthless when it came to protecting his woman. Their passion was intense and I loved the way they chose to battle their adversaries as a team. The intimate scenes were nicely interwoven into the storyline and served to solidify their bond as a couple.

“More is not enough. It will never be enough and no matter who comes at us, we will fight and we will fight together.”

In this book the reader is given answers that we’ve been waiting for, along with some twists and turns that I did not see coming. I really enjoyed the way things wrapped up in the end. This author is so good with romantic suspense and I hope to see more of this type of story from her in the future.

Aside from quite a few conversations/topics became repetitive throughout the 3 books, this was a decent ending to a great trilogy. I wished the epilogue didn't have such a left open ending, but I wonder if Eric and Harper are going to show up in any of the other trilogies Lisa has planned.

If you've read my review for the last book, which you can find HERE, then you'll know that I was already struggling with every detail being repeated over and over again. I don't know if the author intentionally used repetition as filler to get three books out of this story, but if you removed all of the repeated details and dialogue, then this book could've easily been either one long one or a shorter duet. It just got to the point where I couldn't even enjoy the characters anymore or finding out how the plot played out.

I'm just done.

This trilogy is the first time I've ever read Lisa Renee Jones and she does write with beautiful prose, so this series might just be a one-off because I've heard great things about her other work. I’ll probably in the future pick up another one of her books and won’t let my views on this trilogy prevent me from reading her other stuff.

Lisa Renee Jones can definitely write a story that keeps you flipping the pages and hoked to see what happens next.

Eric and Harper - I absolutely loved them together.

Who needs enemies when your own family comes stocked to the brim with them. Eric and Harper had so many issues fighting against them, but I am glad that they made it.

Eric is the entire package: amazing, smart, gorgeous, thoughtful and ruthless just to name a few. I love how him and Harper fought to stay by each others side through all of their problems. Harper is loving, smart, beautiful and I love how she embraces Eric's savant side. She loves him for who he is and not his money, which means that she stands by him when he needs thinking time and never holds it against him.

If you haven't read this series - all I can say is, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? This is an amazing series and the chemistry between Eric and Harper is off of the charts.

I wish the whole story was one book, rather than being dragged out to three different ones. Some parts of the story were so repetitive.

Five epic stars! A mind-bending conclusion to an enthralling series.

I’m dead! Damn this heart that is beating so fast. The Empire by Lisa Renee Jones left me breathless and speechless. I can’t find the right words to describe how much I loved this book because they are not enough. Epic finale for the Bastard and the Princess. An intense journey that I want to repeat because series like this are freaking gems! When I started the Filthy Trilogy, I lost myself deep and hard. I knew I was ruined for the upcoming books and I wasn’t wrong. The Bastard went to my core furiously fast. The Princess blew my mind away and the suspense eat me like a candy. The Empire broke me beyond repair. I don’t know how I will recover after reading such intense, dramatic and suspenseful masterpiece. This epic ending is beyond any critique and better than a thousand diamonds. It deserves million stars!

All the lies, secrets and ambitions that created a dangerous web of lies have reached the culmination of a consuming tale that kept the tension building in my guts. I was a goner from the first page. The book was quite demanding and overwhelming that crushed me like a train. The Empire is everything. Story, hotness, characters, heat level. Everything was juts perfection packed with all the feels and unexpected twists that will leave you aching and craving more and more until you devour all the words.

This book played with me and at the end of it I lost a piece of myself. It drove me crazy. All good things have and end and let me tell you that Lisa penned a monumental ending for Eric and Harper’s story. Everything is exposed in this book. It bleeds passion, filthy lust and explicit love. The relationship between Eric and Harper is erotic, powerful, passionate, explosive and seductive with a lot of turns and twists that add intensity and complexity to their story.

Could I take a minute to tell you how dangerously intense and strong is Eric? He is a man and a savant; powerful, rich and ruthless. He is so much more. His mind is a labyrinth created by numbers that only he can decipher and his touch is electrifying. Eric’s need for Harper is provoked by the fear of losing the woman he is falling in love with, the woman who really sees the man and the savant in him, the woman who was made for him to protect, care and love.

Harper is the woman created for Eric. Their physical connection is out of the charts. She is his equal and together will survive the secrets and ambition floating over them. She is the one for him. All about them is intense and the sex scenes are intimate, seductive and lustful.

The Empire and the entire Filthy trilogy are truly can’t miss! It is a hell of a ride, intriguing, spellbinding, and mind-blowing. It will rock your world!

The Empire is the final conclusion to the Filthy Trilogy Assassins are hunting them. Harper and Eric are yet to find out the puzzle that needed to be solved. They're playing in a minefield full of lies and deceptions. Secret that only the Kingston family can answer along with all of them being a suspect.

But it's not only in the Kingston's where secrets exists. It's also in between Harper and Eric. The time is ticking and revelations are bound to happen one way or another.

There's so many happenings, so many puzzles to solve and secrets that was buries six feet on the ground and they need it.

I loved that I didn't see where the author took the story; in full-tilt. But it sure makes sense and somehow, it's an added climactic rise. My anticipation is in all high levels and it only heightens in every page turn.

And while both Harper and Eric, along with the Walker Security Team on their back, the tension thickens and they're still no where close to solving the issue. All this while their enemies are closing in on them.

The struggle of characters, their back and forths with their emotions was to be expected. Slowly, everyday it seems secrets are being divulged and not in their favors. But with all of these pressuring both main characters, their bond is still intact. They will face their enemies together and they will survive this dilemma the Kingston family tangled them in.

I do recommend this trilogy! A total kindle crack!

The Empire (Filthy Trilogy Book 3 by Lisa Renee Jones
The third and final book, thank the pope. This book was long, drawn out and really annoyed me. What I can say, if you have read the first two books of Harper and Eric, you will know that they don’t trust one another, sex is the answer for everything and they repeat everything over and over. In this book, all the questions are finally answered and you get your HEA. Having said that, I think this whole series could have been improved, if it had been summed up in one book. I just felt like I was watching paint dry with this story, so for me personally, it was an epic fail. Sorry for being so harsh, but if you have a story that has enough climax and enough story, then sure, make it a trilogy, but if you are drawing it out just to make money on three books and you don’t have enough to make the story – you are just annoying your readers. There are far too many good books out there to have had to suffer through this. On the plus side, the author has a good voice and there were hardly any grammatical errors. I have read other books by Lisa Renee Jones that were fabulous, but unfortunately for this series, it was not great. So unfortunately I will not be recommending this series.
