In hopes of "getting away from it all," a medically retired war veteran suffering Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, settles into an obscure rural neighborhood with sparsely distributed and precious few neighbors. He has found solace, but solace is fleeting; as a phantom emerges, bringing horrifying memories from years long gone, causing him to face a hell he has desperately spent a lifetime trying to a hell that predates his military service.
This book is a very powerful look into a very dark subject. The author creates a world that feels like a day out of an ordinary life, then it all breaks loose. The characters are totally relatable and will seem to most folks as if you might know them somewhere in your real life.
This is definitely adult subject material. I would not recommend it for anyone under the age of 18.
