OMG! Did I just bid and win a date with Shane Rempel for over one thousand dollars?!
What the hell was I thinking? Was I not the one who just said I would never spend that kind of money for a date with a stranger?!
Apparently, all sane thoughts just flew right out the moment HE walked up on that stage at the auction.
I was hooked line, sinker and all.
And let me tell you, if you spend that much money for a date, you definitely go on that date. So, I went.
And guess what? It kind of ended with me starting a war with the guy on the said date. And I even did a walkout.
Yeps and after that disastrous first meeting, you definitely do not expect the guy to turn up at your workplace asking for another date!
But he did. And guess what I did...
This is the second book in the steamy romance series, Rules of Love and can be read as a stand alone. No cheating. No cliff-hanger. And the kind of ending you will just love. Team HEA all the way!!
Lindsey Hart specializes in sweet to extra hot and dirty romance and strongly believes in happily ever after. If you are looking for a page turner, then you are in for a wild and naughty ride with feisty heroines and alpha male heroes.
I really enjoyed reading this book about Rayvn and Shane relationship!! They both came from broken relationships and met at a auction that turned into love!!! This was a great read and worth giving a try!!

**I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. The cover of LOVE AUCTION by Lindsey Hart was cute and synopsis captured my interest, so I hoped to enjoy this steamy romance, however, sadly enough, I must admit that it didn't deliver on the promise of fun and steamy read. A 2.5 star read for me.
It started out very well, I enjoyed the banter and promise of hate-to-love trope but this intriguing and fun beginning lasted just for a second, then it all went down hill for me. I like Shane's gesture at the end, which I think was charming, fun and kind of romantic in a way. I liked that there was character development and a lot of different emotions showed. I liked that there was no cheating and it was all the way HEA. But my favourite part of this story was the fact that there was no crazy, annoying and over the top drama. The annoying drama free factor gave that extra half a star.
Now let's take a look why this book didn't receive a higher rating from me. First of all, for the most part of the book I didn't like both MCs - Shane nor Rayvn. I couldn't connect with them, they both a tad bit annoyed me, which means that at the end I didn't much care for them. Then there is this insta-lust situation, which was kind of showed with a feel of insta-love at the same time. I was missing some good steamy and intense moments between them with sparks and lots of chemistry (I'm not talking here about sexy times). I was missing the RomCom feel. I was missing intensity, banter, snarkiness and entertainment. At the end I was bored a lot, left with a bland taste in my mouth and a low enjoyment level. Also the end was a bit too cheesy for my liking.
The beginning of LOVE AUCTION by Lindsey Hart was quite good, the middle was boring and the end just cheesy but sweet. So overall, it was an OK book, but just not my cup of tea. I expected it to bee funnier, snarkier, lighter and sweeter, but received a story on the bit heavier and darker side, which somehow missed to deliver that emotional punch. However, I believe that many contemporary romance book lover will enjoy this story, I'm just more a reader of lighter RomCom books, so sadly this one just wasn’t for me.
Shane has never believed in love. Rayvn did, but now she doesn't think she can have it anymore. Can they have a future together.
I loved them both.
Shane didn't want anything else, just sex, but he looked at Rayvn, he spent time with her, and he was lost. He didn't try to resist. He wanted what he never wanted. He wanted to fight for her. I loved that Shane has grown, that he has matured . He's still the same, he can't not say what he thinks, but he's grown up.
Rayvn didn't want anything else either. Just sex, She was ready. Or so she thought. She thought it would be easy, but it wasn't. She didn't want to want more, but She did, and it hurt, because she thought it wouldn't last.
I think Shane was more mature than she was. He struggled to figure out how he felt, why he spent his whole life avoiding anyone, but he was more willing to fight for Rayvn, for his relationship, than she was. He was afraid, he didn't know if it would work out, but for once he wanted to try. Rayvn is worth it.
The ending is perfect.
I loved seeing Shane with Nina, how theirr friendship stays the same. It would have been nice to see Chet.
Love Auction was even better than I imagined it could be (and I've got one hell of an imagination). Mrs. Lindsey Hart is an Author that is semi new to me as I have only read a few of her publications. Now, however, I am kicking myself because I just could not put this book down. I truly enjoyed everything about this release. The banter, chemistry and the overall storyline were terrifically crafted. The characters; Shane and Ravyn are perfect together. Even though this is fiction, you can envision, with ease, the scenarios they both find themselves in. There is so much chemistry between these two and I honestly feel that Love Auction was written exquisitely by Mrs. Hart. I can not wait to see what is next from her. One thing I am sure of is I am a new fan. If you enjoy a great romance, then by all means, snuggle up with a copy and get lost from cover to cover, as I did, all the way through to their guaranteed happily ever after.
I voluntarily requested an advanced reader's copy of Love Auction in exchange for my honest opinion and I highly recommend reading this book as well as anything written by Mrs. Hart.
WOW I wasn't expecting how this book made me feel. I went through every emotion, overall this is a Fantastic read. Rayvn had lost all faith in men. 2 Years ago She had found out she was pregnant but her husband wasn't happy. When Rayvn found out in her 8th month of pregnancy her baby had died and she had to give birth to a still born. Her husband offered no support, he wouldn't even hold his daughter after a long labour. After Rayvn left the hospital she went home packed her things and filed for divorce. Even 2 years later she couldnt trust a man. She lead a quiet life with good friends. Who needed a man? When her friend Nina came into the antique shop she part owned with her best friends Charlotte and Laney, inviting them to a night out. A auction of ten hot men for a hot date. It was all for charity. And the girls decided to go. When Rayvn saw Shane standing on the stage something happened. He was gorgeous, god like, Statue. Adonis, Bronzed, wild and untamed to name a few words that ran through Rayvn head. And before she knew it she had bid and won. Shane locked eyes on Rayvn, he couldnt look away and he didnt understand why. He was happy being single and if it wasn't for his best friend Nina he wouldn't even be here. But he promised to go on a date wih the winning bid. He just needed to get through it. And this is where the really story begins and I really don't want to spoil your take on this book. You will love it, its an amazing read.

Love Auction by Author Lindsey Hart was the second book in the Rules of Love series. This one was Shane and Ravyn’s story. (Shane was introduced in book 1). Rayvn is an antique dealer/refinisher…and Shane is a landscaper. One of Rayvn’s customers, Nina, happens to be Shane’s best friend (but she is married to his brother). She is setting up a date auction where she has talked Shane into being one of the “goods” and Rayvn and her friends attend. When Shane and Ravyn’s eyes meet at the auction she can’t look away…
I enjoyed this book, however, I personally didn’t feel much of a connection with the main characters. I thought Shane was an ass (so did Rayvn after their first date!) and Rayvn had been through so much already, so why put herself through his crap? Overall, the storyline was good. I love the character description by the author, the banter, the sex scenes, and the history each of them went through…but there was just something missing for me. I loved the auction scene, the way the characters in the book were tied into each other, and there were several parts of the book I really enjoyed and that is why I give it 3.5 stars. I do still recommend reading it, and do like Lindsey Hart’s writing!
I love this story, not only because it was base in Houston, my home, but also because it dealt with something so real, a stillborn. A woman's worst nightmare is to deliver a dead baby along with any miscarriage, as it leaves the question what could have I done differently. The characters were great, Shane is a guy who at a young age saw how his mother suffered when dad left, so he chooses to never commit to anyone in order to avoid that until he meets Rayvn. Rayvn is starting a new life after her divorce to whom she thought would be forever, but after the delivery of her stillborn child, she realizes that the man in her life was not what she thought. The story starts with Rayvn and her friends invited to an auction for a good cause where she bids for a date with Shane, although the attraction is there, she walks out on their date due to Shane's outburst. What could Shane have said to get her to get up and go?
The story is great and has a HEA to it, but it does reference a couple a characters from a previous book, Love Contract, which I am planning to read next. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Romance books can become very “formulamatic.” Boy meets girl. Hot passion ensues. Misunderstanding causes an argument and a falling out. Boy and girl get back together. Lindsey Hart added another aspect to this story. This book is that it is the first book that I’ve read that dealt with a stillbirth. While miscarriages are heartbreaking in their own right, holding your child after giving birth only to discover that it is no longer living is devastating. Lindsey did a great job in illustrating the depth of feelings that our heroine went through as a result of losing her child. I also liked that the hero, (Shane) although not wanting kids of his own, empathized with Ravyn (heroine) and was angry at her ex on her behalf. Although the issue of children may have been one of the driving forces that kept Shane and Ravyn apart, it was the feelings that were behind these forces that ultimately brought them together. This was a good read for me, not a great read, but a good one. I felt there was a little too much back and forth with the, “I don’t believe in love,” and “I want to have a forever with someone.” I do appreciate the author bringing a new angle to romance stories.
ARC was given to me by author. My review is given completely volunterly.
Love Auction by Lindsey Hart book 2. I gave this book 31/2 stars. I really wanted to love it, because I new Shane from the previous book (which I loved) but for some reason I just never click with it 100%. There was parts in the story that I loved, others were just ok. Rayvn was a sweet woman, with her own antique shop. She came with a lot of hurt from her ex, desperately trying to regain control of her emotions and get her personal life back to how she use to be her marriage. She wants children down the line. She never imagined that she would be beting at an auction for a date, but his blue eyes hypnotized her..... that was the only answer to the insane thing that happened at that auction dinner show. Shane was just a no commitment, no kids type of guy, casual sexual encounters was more his thing....so getting LOVE struck by Rayvn was not something he was prepared for! Rayvn had my heart right from the beginning. I also enjoyed the other characters. This book does have a great HEA.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second book in the Rules of Love series. In this book, Shane is asked to be in an auction for charity by his sister-in-law Nina. Shane doesn't believe love is real and he has no intention of ever being in a relationship. When he sees Rayvn across the room at the auction, they lock eyes and Rayvn ends up bidding on Shane and winning the date. Rayvn is the owner of an antiques store along with her two best friends. Rayvn is divorced and she hasn't dated in over two years. Her marriage ended after a personal tragedy and she doesn't know if she can try to date again, she is scared she will be hurt again. When Shane and Rayvn go on their date, it is a disaster and Rayvn ends up leaving early. Shane knows he made a mistake and wants to apologize, so he finds Rayvn and asks for another chance. I liked this book, i really liked how Shane realized how much his father leaving his mother affected him. Shane grew up and saw things from another side. Rayvn was hurt in the past, but she wanted to try again to reach her dreams. Good one.
One impulsive bid leads Rayvn and Shane on an adventure they weren't expecting. Rayvn is two years old of a divorce and ready to find love again. With her friends in tow, she heads to a date auction for a good cause. There, she locks eyes with the hunk Shane, bids and win. On their date, Shane makes it well known he's the screw and leave, no relationship kind of guy, much to her disappointment. Exiting the date abruptly leave Shane unsettled. Therefore, he sets out to make it right. Can their differences end in happily every after?
I really liked the story. I felt the characters were well developed and their experiences shaped their views on love and life. There were a few errors that need fixing, but it doesn't take away from the story as you can figure out the correct word needed. I would definitely recommend this book.

A great second book in this series. Rayvn who co-owns a antique store with her best friends Laney and Charlotte decide to go to a charity date auction. When she sees Shane she's driven to win a date with him. On their date Shane takes her to the park for a picnic but some kids throw a wayward frisbee at them and Shane starts talking how he doesn't believe in love, marriage and kids. This is a red flag for Rayvn since she dreams of having kids someday so she walks out of the date. Shane who can't stop thinking about Rayvn finds her and apologizes for his behavior, then he asks her for another date. Does Rayvn give Shane a second chance? This is about two people who been hurt in their past that made a impact on them and how they overcome it together toward their future. I love that this book had the first characters intersperse in this book which I enjoyed reading and reviewing. I enjoyed this book better than the first because it tug on the heartstring more. ARC

3.5 stars
I recommend reading Love Contract prior to reading this book.
It was nice to see Shane get his own story (and have to work a bit for his HEA). Both Shane and Rayvn are scared of taking a chance on love due to their pasts, but the attraction between them makes them both willing to take a step towards overcoming their fears and potentially finding love. Their romance does seem a little fast (though certainly it had its issues), but they make an effort to work through their issues (and actually acknowledge them). I do wish we saw a bit more of their time together, some of the time-jumps made me wish we saw just a bit more of their romance.
What a fun story. What fun characters. There is heart and emotion in both Rayvn and Shane.
He really is just a 'nice' guy. But in the beginning Rayvn thinks 'jerk'.
Nice guy Shane isn't usually too interested in serious dating. A date or two is usually enough and then he' s on to the next beautiful woman crossing his path.
Marriage and kids are just not on his radar.
Then he meets Rayvn and it all changes.
And then there's Rayvn that is recently divorced and still reeling from the loss of a child. Meeting another man is not on her radar either.
This was just a good love story. There are a few bedroom scenes and MaMa might want to toss it. But Jazzy Grandma would tell her grab a fan and keep reading!
I really enjoyed Love Auction and meeting Lindsey Hart. I will be reading more!
This is another fantastic story by Lindsey Hart I loved it. Wow what a story a guy who doesn’t believe in love doesn’t want children and has a bad attitude now who would want to date him?. Rayne has had a horrible life a husband who didn’t care that she lost their baby he was really nasty to her so she divorced him. Years later she goes to an Date Auction and see’s Shawn standing there ready to be auctioned, Rayne wanted to win this sexy looking man for a date so she was determined to win him and she did. The date turned out horrible but Shawn wanted a second chance with Rayne but will she give him one?. This is a fantastic story I didn’t like Shawn at first but in the end he found a good woman to change his ways, fantastic story a 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
When I read an excerpt for Love Contract, I thought to myself that I really needed to read the book, so I put it on my to be read list. But then I read Love Auction and realised, this book is out of this world. The intense chemistry felt by Shane and Ravyn, as their eyes met across the room at the auction, is so beautifully written that you can actually feel it, as you are reading the story. This book has emotional turmoil, entertainment, laughter, lessons to learn from, some sexy scenes, amazing supporting characters and a wonderful happy ending. I will definitely recommend reading this book.

Rayvan and Shane’s first date go horrifically wrong. They are both reeling from past hurts and have perceived expectations about what future relationships will look like. The author provides background knowledge to those who did not read Love Contract to be able to connect the characters, which is awesome, without taking anything away from the other book. This is a story filled with lots of witty conversations between the characters. There is is also deep and meaningful conversations about, love, loss, friendship and relationships. It is a great read with a plot that flows well and has a neat and satisfying end.

This is the second book in this series. It was a really great read. The chemistry between Shane and Rayvn was really hot. They connected the very first time they saw each other. Rayvn actually bought a date with Shane and lets just say the first date did not really go very well at all. Rayvn ends up leaving the date early and she makes it clear she does not want to see him again. Shane tracks her down to apologizes and ask for a do over. After much convincing she agrees. I just loved this book. The characters were so well develop and the bantering between the characters was so funny. The romance between them was so sweet and romantic. I cannot wait to see what happens next in this series.

This book should be read after Love Contract. Nina takes a poster to the shop that Rayvn, Charlotte and Laney work. They all agree to go to the auction, but don't plan to bid on one of the guy in the auction. When Rayvn sees Shane she ends up winning the bid for Shane to go on a date with her. The date become a disaster and Rayvn runs out after Shane declares he is against marriage and kids. Shane is determined to have an another date with Rayvn. Their relationship goes back and forth, trying to develop a relationship and breaking up, then back together and breaking up again. Read on to find you what they go through to be together or not. Read on as it is a good book. I laughed, I cried and had a hard time putting the book down.

If you don’t like sexy guys that are almost too to handle. If you don’t like great banter between leads. If you don’t like the kind of story where the guy starts off a bit of a jerk but romance develops as he does too. Then skip this book. If that stuff is at all appealing to you the Rayvn and Shane’s story is one you need to run to get (and, oh yes, it has a great plot with a really string cast of lead and supporting characters and is superbly written, if those sort of minor things matter to you as well...). But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
She overpaid, just a little. Yes, she overpaid and got an epic fail of a date for her time...however, Shane went out of his way to make up for his premature expectation. I didn't have high hopes for the book based on other stories I've read by Lindsey Hart, but I found myself just a bit charmed by the MCs, expecting a familiar "enemies to lovers" story line. I particularly found Rayvn to be a sympathetic character.
I understand the insta-lust that drives many stories, but I do think to turn those feeling into love takes more time than the author gave the reader. It just didn't seem like they really had a chance to really get to know each other.
That said, I enjoyed the book and finished it happily. Though given an ARC, I have provided my honest opinion.
Second book in this wonderful series we met our hero Shane in book one "Love Contract"
Shane has an inability to bond with women due to the damage that he saw his father do to his mother but he has finally found one that he doesn't want to drive away but maybe he is now going to get a dose of his own medicine Rayvn had her heart broken by he ex husband and she will never trust a man again He gave he a spray at the hospital just after she had given birth to a stillborn daughter and she just new it was time to walk away. When she wins a auction to have a date with Shame it doesn't go well so why is he asking for another date. Will these two damage souls finally get a HEa and will that heal their broken souls
Shane was hurt by his parents break up, he never let anyone close to him but his best friend Nina. He looked at Rayvn across the room at a charity auction and something in him changed. Ravyn had been ripped apart by the loss of her still born daughter and her resulting divorce. Two wounded people, both afraid of love find something precious together and decide to take a chance on each other. This story is so tender, so real, I just loved how their romance progressed without all the expectation, just honesty. This book is a winner, great writing, great character development, great lovemaking, Just a great book.

Rayvn goes to an date auction with some friends not thinking of doing any bidding just watching the others. However when she saw Shawn she couldn't help herself and ending up bidding on him. Their date didn't go off as planned and he felt bad so he asked her for a second chance. Things slowly progress for them yet Rayvn doesn't want to commit herself if he can't see himself having kids because that's something she really wants. Will Shawn be able to rethink children or will he let her go?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

AMAZING!❤ A touching read that wedge it's way right into my heart and at times was hard to put down as you get pulled into the emotional rollercoaster ride from beginning to end and already wanting the HEA with only reading the first few chapters as the drama unfolds giving a heartache that you would not wish upon your worst enemy but the reality of it hit home on a personal level with a grandchild of mine so it was ruff raw and extremely tough but well worth sticking it out and finally the feeling the well deserved HEA that made it enjoyable but still the hurt was there! Engrossing twists and exciting hot chemistry! An amazing must read
This story really took me on an emotional roller coaster ride, but it was well worth it! The plot was well developed, the characters were strong, with sufficient background to be able to relate to them. I was pleasantly surprised to only find a few typos, and one error when Shane ordered more than one round of beer with the fish and chips, but was later said to have had only one pint, thus making it acceptable for him to drive Ravyn home. That is the only reason for my 4 1/2 stars. Can’t wait to read the next installment!

Shane was always a love and leave them kind of guy. His best friend Nina and now sister- in-law since grade school talked him in to being auctioned off for charity. Nina also gave a fly to Rayvan who owns a antique shop. Rayvan has been thru a divorce and loss of a child, but when she seen Shane on the auction block she for some reason just bid. The first date was bad. Can he get a second with her? Will Rayvan go out with him again? Why is she having these feelings for someone that is such a butt?

Rayvn has been hurt in the past, she is divorced after he husband refused to support her after the birth of a still born baby. she has chosen to lead a quiet life and that's the way she likes it, until she bids on Shane at an auction.
Shane is persuaded by his best friend to enter the auction, which he hates and is dredding. Rayvn wins her date with Shane, which goes disastrously wrong.
The book is well written and very enjoyable, there are tears of sadness to tears of joy book, but all with a HEA.

It's been 2 years since Ravyn thought her life was over. Her friends and her are invited to a date auction for charity. When the final guy is up Ravyn can't help herself and ends up with the final bid. Shane didn't want to be there. He's only doing it for his best friend. Watching his mom being hurt by his dad growing up, he doesn't believe in love. Can two people find that think everything will end eventually find true love. This is a well written book with great characters. Ravyn is sweet and Shane is a jerk to everyone but deep down he's a sensitive nice guy. I recommend this book.
