This volume still continues with a series of self-contained stories but the basic structure has changed a bit and that refreshed things a bit.

It's been a few years since I last read a volume of Kino, I can say that it is still a series I really enjoy. "The country of heroes" and "The country of illness" were my two favorite stories of this volume. Kino all around.

Also, this ends my Japanese reread of volumes I'd previously read in English, from now on every volume is new to me. I'm really looking forward to it, I really gotta make more time to read this series.
