Somebody's Perfect

Rate this book
Savannah Orlando escaped horrendous abuse and torture at the hands of her father. As his trial approaches, she struggles to accept her newfound happiness with her husband, Damián, and to keep from falling back into old habits that once served her well, but no longer work. Nightmares and memories of the past threaten to destroy all she has gained since her escape. Damián Orlando knows her father will go to any lengths to destroy them, even from within custody. The need to protect Savannah wars with his need to prepare her to face again the monster who robbed her of her childhood innocence. If anything happens to Savannah, their daughter, or their unborn child, Damián will finish the job he started at the desert compound where he rescued her. READY TO GET RESCUED? In the ongoing Rescue Me Saga, the reader will be swept into a world of honor, heroism, and romance. The books in this series are not stand-alone stories and should be read in numerical order, beginning with the Masters at Arms in this combined volume. Readers will connect with each hero and heroine and be able to see them return in book after book as the saga continues. Happily Ever After is only the beginning and other people will be introduced as they choose to join this growing family.

When you go back to a series that you absolutely loved, you have high hopes that the author will enthrall you the way they did in the beginning. I couldn't stop reading the Rescue Me series and always waited until the next one came out. I was happy that Kallypso was bringing the Damian and Savannah saga to an end and was looking forward to seeing where she brought things. I am even more excited that she will finally give Marc and Angelina their HEA in the future as well. But, back to Damian and Savannah.

The trial is finally approaching and Savannah finds herself knee-deep in all the drama and is having a hard time dealing with it. She refuses to tell Damian but, she should know, he has ways of finding things out. They may not be conventional but his ways work on Savannah.

Damian is desperately trying to find a way to let Savannah know that she is strong, she can face the man who destroyed her and do it with her head held high. He has his ways but he knows that, if the truth comes out about the night of her rescue, he could have problems. His worst fear comes true but his Savannah handles everything the way he knew should could.

Yes, I was happy that Savannah and Damian may actually have an HEA after everything they went through. I was just a little disappointed with how it came about. I had a hard time with some of the time lines in the story and I felt that it was a little wordy at times. I also couldn't believe that Marisol would be friends with the “college boys” next door whose mommy left them alone at Christmas then, all of a sudden, he becomes the hero. I've always enjoyed this series because of how consistent the story lines were. Unfortunately, Somebody's Perfect didn't hit the high notes for me. I loved the Alive Day that brought all the Master's together and the scene that followed … that's when I felt the story come alive. I enjoyed catching up with Adam and Kitten (my pen name namesake) and the triplets. In the end, I felt that Damian and Savannah were truly blessed with the family that they have surrounding them … both Damian's and the Master's At Arms.

2.5 stars - NOTE: This book is NOT a stand-alone and should be read in the order suggested by the author. Otherwise you won’t have a clue what’s going on or who anyone is.

This book has been on my TBR list for years. Damián and Savannah were my absolute favorite couple in the Rescue Me Saga. Sadly, I was quite disappointed with this book. I was happy to see them get a more solid HEA with Savannah giving birth to their baby and the closure she got from her father’s trial. But this book really dragged for me.

There was a lot of repetition of things. The first 25% focused on how nervous Savannah was about having to testify in the trial against her father when she was “almost 8 moths pregnant.” That kept being repeated over and over. Nothing could be stated just once. I felt like the author didn’t trust me to remember things and had to keep telling me 15 times over. It actually makes me wonder if all the other books were written similarly. This book’s length probably could have been halved if everything hadn’t been repeated so much.

The trial also seemed to regurgitate a lot of stuff we already knew from Nobody’s Perfect. There was one incident we hadn’t known about, but I skimmed a lot of the repeat stuff. I also skimmed much of the epilogue. By that point, I was just done. Savannah had her baby, they gave it a ridiculous name, the trial was over, everyone lived happily ever after. The two days I put into reading this are gone. I probably would have enjoyed this more if I had read it back when it had been released. I think I waited too long.

Another great read from Kallypso Masters in this series. I will adivse that you read book #3 Nobody's Perfect 1st as that is the start of Savannah and Damian's story.

Savannah has escaped her father, twice. He is awaiting trial. As is his accomplice and right hand man. Savannah and Damien along with 8 yr old daughter, Mari are thriving, hell she is even pregnant again. Sure she has issues from her past but with the love, care, and teachings (in BDSM) from Damien she is moving forward. When she receives word that the case her against her father is moved up to two months away things begin to unravel. She will need to face him again. Old insecurities will arise, she will start to shrink within herself.

She doesn't see herself as strong, which she surely is. So Damien will need to up his game and prove it to herself, he knows the strength his woman has. He needs her too.

This was a great read. The story flowed like you were reading a movie. The sex was steamy. The BDSM intense. Love this authors writing.

5 Star Review Somebody’s Perfect (Rescue Me Saga, #7) by Kallypso Masters
When I heard that Kallypso Masters was releasing a new book in her Rescue Me Saga and that it was a follow up to Damian and Savannah’s previous story, I couldn’t wait to read. Whenever I see the name Kallypso Masters, it is an automatic purchase. This book was brilliant, from start to finish; I didn’t want to put it down.
I have always loved the characters that Kallypso Masters writes about, the way she develops and layers them and her story lines are amazing, it is like peeling an onion, layer after layer.
I knew going in that this book would be a hard read, after all Savannah and by extension Damian (and their family and friends) had to face the evil monster that is her father. In this book we finally saw justice served for the horror that Savannah faced growing up.
This book was an emotional read that touched me deeply, the horror and suffering that Savannah went through at the hands of her father and his sadistic friends and her bravery in testifying at the trial meant for some truly emotional reactions whilst reading. Suffice to say he and his cohorts got exactly what they deserved and more.
Kallypso Masters puts everything she has into her writing and Somebody's Perfect is a soul wrenching story that was superbly written.
Another brilliant addition to what is one of my all-time favourite series. Well done Kallypso Masters, you have another winner on your hands. I am excited to see what Ms.Masters has in store for these beloved characters and their friends in future books.
I highly recommend this book and wonderfully talented author. Take a chance if you haven't yet read this series, you won't be disappointed.

An emotional touching story of overcoming abuse and torture and finally facing the demons both in the mind and in a court of law.

Savannah's story started in Nobody's Perfect. Savannah lived through the most horrid things from when she was 8 year old to 19 from her sick and perverted father and his business associate, Lyle. The only bright light during that time was her one night with Damián Orlando. After that wonderful night in her otherwise nightmare of a world she was gifted with Damian's child. The pregnancy gave her the strength to run away from her father. Eight years later she reconnects with Damian and her healing begins with the love of both Damian and his friends.

Now its a year later and Damian and Savannah are married with another child on the way. All the hard work she and Damian have done to get her over her past starts to come unraveled when she gets the call that her father's trial is in less than 2 months.

Through the love of her husband and friends she again gains the strength within herself to finally face the beast in court and tell her horrid story to the jurors to put her monster of a father away for hopefully the rest of his life.

I’ve been waiting for this, the beautiful conclusion of Savannah and Damián’s story!
And i have to say,it was more than worth the wait!

The time has come for Savannah to have closure at last. For the abuse by the hands of her father and “friends”. For the fact he killed her mother,ánd nearly killed her. She doesn’t have to face him alone, though. She has her loving husband and Dom,Damián,as well as his adopted family, supporting her along this painful proces. Watchful of any evil tricks her father might have up his sleeve.....

A beautiful journey to watch, this story was still painful at times. What Savannah had to overcome, was not only the pain, but the fear as well. PTSD is what they call it,and it says it all...

Thank you Kallypso,for this beauty!

After reading the other reviews it seems like I'm in the minority. I love this series and excited for Savannah and Damion but I found their story to be a little boring.
The story focuses on the trail of her father and while it was emotional front an perspective I didn't get the usual feels from this author.
I found myself skimming through some chapters to get to the end.

Wow!!!! What a ride through the trial! I was treading carefully. But it was freeing, like a weight lifted. I was totally smiling when Savannah finished. She did it! She is my hero

Amazing!!!!

Thank you so much for continuing Damian and Savannah story! From the first book you knew she had been badly abused but the trial really brought it home! Theirs is such a story of love and trust. Savannah is so strong and Damian just keeps her so grounded when she needs. The rest of the family is there. I was stunned by Alive Day it was so meaningful and powerful!! Thank you for this series and I hope more follow as you can. I have loved this series from the 1st one I read on KU! If you want a great read this is for you and you don't have to have read the others to follow along it helps but not necessary but if you do you will want the others!

Just WOW

This was such a touching story. As someone who was molested from age 5 and never got justice. It did my heart good to see justice happened. I connected to this series in so many way. As a veteran if Desert Storm, married to a Master Sargent who served 25 years in the Army. This series was me is so many ways as besides being sexual molested/raped from age 5 until 18 as an adult I was raped at knife point. This series makes me fell free . PTSD is tough no matter what it is caused by. Your writing did it justices. Thank you. Are we ever going to get a book about Grant?

Well Done!

What an extraordinary culmination to Damián and Savannah's love story. Kallypso Masters did herself proud with this one. At times, it was a tough read because of all the emotions that were evoked as Savannah is finally able to tell her story and get justice for her beloved maman. Damián's growth into being a tower of strength for his Savannah is, in a word, awesome. With all the characters from the Rescue Me Saga woven throughout, this book was absolutely captivating. Well done, Kallypso!

Amazing!

This has been a long awaited book. I will tell you that it was worth the wait for me!
I knew that it was going to be emotional for me as Savanah and I share similar childhoods. Hearing more if her story and the strength that she had has inspired me to try to put more of my past behind me.
I laughed, cried and cheered loudly through this whole book. Seeing Savannah and Damien move through the challenges they had were amazing.

I can't wait to catch up with everyone again.

Somebody's Perfect. This book continues the saga of the three men and their love relationships. This time we go deep into Damien and Savannah/Savi's relationship. She feels she can't give Damien what he needs. But Damien feels otherwise. Savi's father also catches up with them again and tries to destroy her. But he doesn't know how much love and power Savannah has on her side. The whole group of men from the club brings their A game to defend Savannah and her family. This is an exciting book. I enjoyed it!!!

Loved This Book!

Finally Damian and Savannah get closure for the unresolved chapter in their lives. Old, suppressed memories resurface and Damian has to work harder when Savannah has to testify at her father’s trial. I loved revisiting with all their close friends and family. Kallypso has a way of pulling you into the story so you forget everything else and don’t want to stop reading until the end.

Exceptional series with a perfect ending!!

Ms. Masters’ “Rescue Me Saga” series was incredible! I have read nothing that matches it and certainly nothing that surpasses it! The beautiful stories told in this series covered all of the characters that were first introduced. While each installment focused on one couple’s road to love, it also included vignettes of the other members. A very satisfying read and well worth the time invested.

Awesome!

Finally we see the conclusion of some of the major drama our family of "masters " has gone through. While Savannah's mother can't be brought back to life , a price will be paid for it one way or another. Damien and Savannah are awesome as a couple and I loved seeing where life is taking Rosa. Things are finally coming to a place where they can breathe a little. Bravo Kallypso for another awesome book. 5 stars all the way. Write On!

Perfect

Though all the Rescue Me couples drew me in, Savannah and Damian hold a special place in my heart. And even though the storyline was a little slow at times and there was more than a little repetition, it still worked because of who they are, where they've been and where they're going, together, with their family by their sides.

Oh Kally! This was the perfect story for this imperfectly perfect couple. In this story you have given me ways to deal with my own issues. You are a wonderful story teller. I feel as if I really know these characters. You give them such beautifully written backstories that's it's hard not to love them. Thank you!!
