Reclaiming Honor #1-8

The Reclaiming Honor Omnibus (Books 1-8): A Kurtherian Gambit Series

Rate this book
The History of the World wasn't what Valerie was taught. The daughter of a vampire and sister of a devil walking, Valerie finds out she has something neither her brother nor her father

She has Honor.

Setting off on a journey to America, she finds herself stepping up to be the Justice Enforcer the land needs. She will fight for the oppressed. She will destroy evil.

This digital box set contains eight action-packed science fiction

Justice is Calling

Valerie must flee a brother who leaves her for dead. Because, if there is one thing Valerie understands?

It's that Justice Doesn't Turn the Other Cheek.

150 years after a near apocalypse, the world is rebuilding. Survival has become the only rule, and justice is in short supply. Now, Justice has come calling.

Claimed by Honor

The New York City-State wakes up and their world has been shaken to its core. The Enforcers have been scattered, but they aren't finished. This vampire is but a bump in their road to keeping the city-state in the hands of the CEO's.

The Were's are involved, some leave, some stay and new alliances are made and an old one broken.

However, in the end, it always comes back to heart and determination.

Judgment has Fallen

The City Has Changed... but not always for the better. Some love her, some hate her, but the one thing that is causing the city problems is Valerie herself. As a lightning rod, she needs to get out of the public's eye and allow the emotions to cool without her presence.

Whether she wants to, or not.

Angel of Reckoning

For this vampire, it's time to die... a second time.

Valerie understands that to take the fight to those who are attacking in New York, she needs to leave the spotlight. Both for the city, and for herself.

Her enemies are relentless in their attacks to get to her. Since they have relocated to the Chicago City-State area, that is where she must go.

Born Into Flames

When Valerie and Robin head north to take on an army of post-apocalyptic pirates, the deadly duo find themselves on a thrill-ride of air-ship battles and full-on assaults against pirate strongholds.

Her friends back in Old Manhattan discover an attempt at mutiny, while Sandra learns that being an expecting mother doesn't mean she has to stop kicking ass and taking names.

Everyone must step up their game, or be consumed by the flames of this new world.

Defending the Lost

A time of reckoning has come for the council of Toro, a bandit city about to burst with corruption and injustice.

Valerie refuses to allow her world to rot, and she's brought friends to help her teach the council a lesson.

Saved By Valor

A dream of peace. A hand of justice. A time for closure.

Valerie has found her way full circle, heading back to Europe, where it all began. New enemies await, calling themselves The Gods, and the journey to put an end to the atlantic pirate problem means dealing with the local trouble makers as well as these false gods.

Okay, here goes. I read the two Valerie omnibus editions out of order. I wish there was a timeline somewhere with all the different groups of stories in it because I'm a fan, but tired of putting the cart before the horse.
About this book - I enjoyed meeting Valerie on Earth and the trials she got through from escaping her family all the way through to escaping the planet. Hey - that's not the spoiler - the guys weren't going to kill Valerie off!
The spoiler is this - in these books, Valerie does get to be there for the baby's birth, in the next series, she doesn't. End spoiler.

I get that you guys are juggling many pages/worlds, but a continuity editor might be a good thing. There is a slight downside to writing almost as fast as I read, and that is small continuity errors that drive fans crazy.

I've lost count of how many KGU books I've read so far (since starting 2/10/2020), but at last count it was 74 so I am definitely a fan and looking forward to more Valerie, Robin, Michael, B.A. and crew.

Strong supporting story

The Kurtherian Universe is vast, and filled with so many interesting characters you could read it exclusively for more than a year and still have stories to read. This is one of the more interesting ones. Valerie is tasked by Michael with protecting humanity from the Unknown World, those with no honor. She does this not only by killing the bad guys, but by also uniting regular humans and enhanced ones.
Valerie is stronger than her adversaries, but they are many, and spread all over the place. She even gets to visit Vikings, handle many pirates, and ensure none infiltrate her home, New York city. Valerie is so honor driven, she changes people who were selfish and very dangerous. One of her best allies began as an enemy.
Her methods are similar to the Queen, Bethany Anne and it appears she has the talent to back it up.
Definitely a must read for anyone who reads the Kurtherian Universe.

Wow excellent read all of the books

I love reading within this universe to start with after the third vote by email the author who replied right away just letting him know how much I love his work and then continue reading until I hit the last of the series and I have to say I have enjoyed this and his style of writing. it's a different style than the Terry Henry Walton Chronicles but I liked equally as well l&n joy the fact that it was different it felt like its own story still happening within the same universe in fact I just bought all of the space ones not waiting for any dealer bargain I enjoyed it too much to wait for that. if you like powerful main characters some humour some of the humour is off colour but really funny as well as the hero not really been conflicted between right or wrong as somebody tried to do these days this is a great set of books to read.

Nail biting series

Valerie was left for dead, only the caring nature of Sandra, for her mistress, was she still alive. Now, she was out to take New York by storm, help them to be ready to defend against her brother and prevent him from enslaving all humans. She fights for justice and Michael, the Archangel himself sets her up as his justice enforcer. With many twists and turns, this series just keeps getting better and better with every book. Val keeps enforcing justice to ensure the bad guys and gals don’t win.
Justin Sloan has done an amazing job with this series and I can’t wait to read more on Valerie, bring on the next series!

WoW just WoW

What a fantastic addition to the Kurtherian Gambit Universe, I believe I read The reclaiming Honor Omnibus (books1-8) in a week (or less) I don't always leave a review as I'm eager to find my next read. I started reading Valerie Elites and after reading Justin's authors notes realized I had missed this series. So I had to back peddle to read this before continuing with the next. I'm a huge fan of The Kurtherian Gambit Universe, and the authors notes, glad you are living your dream Justin and keep your awesome books coming :)
To MA thank you also for bringing the Kurtherian Gambit into fruition Ad Aeternitatem, CC

A Great new addition to Bethany Anne's gang

This story felt a little different from those of Terry Henry or BA's, in that it was more personal and delt with Valerie's feelings about the changes she and her friends were going through instead of how they were adapting to the world around them.
I can understand how some people may not enjoy that as much, but I felt it was a nice change and enjoyed reading every word.
I'm also sure that I want to get back to what we're used to.
Definitely worth ready and I hope to hear from Valerie more in the future.

Worth the read!

Another excellent series in the KGU. Some great new characters and a few beloved, who stop by for a little action, of course! A true view of what is happening around the world and a look at what is being done to get Earth running again. Loved most of the books, even laughed a few times out loud (not appropriate at work) and had a few tears, but mostly a lot of Hell, Yeahs!! Grab this series as a stand alone, or better yet as an add on to a great universe!

I love these characters

I thought I had read a lot of good Vampire stories before this, but the fact is that these books treat them very differently to everyone else. The big heroes in this Omnibus are vampires and you become very proud of them! I am going to check out more of the kurtherian stories.

Saving earth.

Valerie is a modified human, once thought of as vampires because they couldn't go out after dark. Charged by Michael, with cleaning up the America's she takes it to heart and gets together a group of like thinking people both modified and non-modified. Great stories good read.

Good Stories

These are good stories for those who like vampire reads. It's not my favourite read but I wanted to expand my reading . As storytelling goes these are well crafted. The characters are interesting.

Honor bound

I really enjoyed the right books in the series. The characters seem so real and the challenges they faced and conquered give me hope . The Kurtherian books are taking my mind off of what is happening on Earth right now! Kudos to the writers and the editing teams!

Very good back story

This series was a good back story to Valerie and Robin and bond they formed prior to meeting BA and going off into space. Good action mixed with some blood and guts and comedy.

My least favorite so far

I’ve spent months reading all the Kurtherian series so I continued reading the Reclaiming Honor omnibus despite disliking this author’s style. This series felt very juvenile and cheesy compared to the rest of them.

I loved reading this series. I started it 5 days ago and just kept reading. It was such a rush to follow Valerie as she dispensed justice. I cannot wait to follow her into space.

Good stories, but needs better editing/proofreading. Grammar issues and spelling problems are not uncommon throughout the series - fun to read in spite of that, though.
